Jun 11, 2026Echo Generation 2 is an excellent game that both newcomers and fans of the original should play. It’s a fun adventure through the multiverse that’s only held back by just being a little too forgiving at times.
-
May 27, 2026It may not be the deepest and most complex deck builder and RPG out there, but Echo Generation 2 has a ton to offer. The game's story is a fantastic sci-fi epic that lands nearly all of its themes and ideas, and the core gameplay loop is a lot of fun.

Jun 17, 2026Echo Generation 2 successfully transforms the deck-building combat of Slay the Spire into a traditional RPG adventure. Its strategic card battles, accessible progression, charming voxel visuals, and nostalgic sci-fi atmosphere make for a consistently enjoyable experience. While it lacks originality in some mechanics and its story remains fairly simple, it stands out as an excellent option for players who enjoy deck builders but prefer to avoid roguelike repetition.

Jun 22, 2026Echo Generation 2 has fun card combat and a whole lot of style, but leveling up new characters can feel like a bit of a chore.

Jun 23, 2026Writing these reviews feels gross, because I know this is a small studio that worked hard on Echo Generation 2, but I have to be honest—I did not enjoy myself much at all. Playing felt akin to biting into a chunky voxel burger that had no flavor whatsoever. Just mushy, cubey goop hanging down the sides of my mouth. I see good ideas here that needed fleshing out, and maybe that the developers were trying to do too many things at once—including taking a chance with the tone shift. I’m hopeful they keep at it and find their stride.
