    Chances are if you enjoyed Dying Light, you will be perfectly satisfied with The Following. However, I still feel the finer points of realising a truly successful open-world game have not been addressed and if you want further detail just read my Dying Light review here on Metacritic, as I feel the same criticisms largely still apply. The Following presents a fair chunk of real estate for you to explore, and you may think those crazy Poles must have worked their a$$es off on it, but in actuality there is a sneaking suspicion of some cut and paste recycling from the Call of Juarez series. It is an interesting point I feel, that the new mode of transportation presented with the Buggie is actually another remnant of Techland's lineage of FPS as Buggies featured in their first shooter from 2003, funnily enough called 'Chrome', however the implementation here brings to mind more influence from Rage than anything else. With the video game industry in its current state of drought, The Following shines brightly enough in the vast fields of rough to warrant your investigation Expand

    I loved Dying Light: the mixture of Zombies and Parkour was a blast. However, with the parkour element effectively diminished, you lose half of what made the game great. The combat has also been nerfed, so if you've worked hard to max out your levels, and enjoy cutting off some walker heads in one swift blow, you'll be disappointed to find even max level weapons can take 3-4 hits to take foes down.

    All in all, it's a decent way to waste some time, but without the fun and thrills provided by the vanilla experience.

    This expansion is actually better than the main game itself.

    Pros:

    - Great amount of content;
    - Fun missions;
    - The buggy;
    - New skill trees and weapons;
    - Vast and beautiful map;
    - Intriguing ending

    Cons:

    - Checkpoint system still sucks;
    - Dumb AI makes it easy to kill bosses;
    - Some pop-ups while driving.

    Poor man's far cry.

    It is now at countryside. Which eliminates the game's original idea because there is not much parkour to do. You got buggy...and that is the only vehicle you get. Car handling is not bad I'll give you that. You go everywhere with buggy and it becomes tedious because most missions require you to go other side of the map. No hang glider, parachute or wingusuit. Virals are even worse in this. They spawn everywhere everytime. You move one feet virals spawn, you repair your weapon virals spawn, you blink virals spawn, you exist virals spawn.

    Below average dlc and it doesn't worth playing. You can have more fun with far cry.

    I really liked the Dying light game. So I had to buy the expansion pack when it came out! I was hugely disappointed! What makes his experience bad, is what the developers added. Overrated zombie game. Great graphics and atmosphere, but gets boring and repetitive fast. It succeeds in making you feel like a zombie apocalypse survivor initially, but once the wow factor fades, you are left with a boring average shooter. Worth a playthrough if you are into zombies a lot and like this type of game, otherwise, avoid.

    Deserves probably around a 7, i give it a 5 to

    Dying Light The Following Continues the story of Kyle Crane
    Not only is this expansion a direct sequel to Dying Light, it’s the conclusion of Kyle Cranes Story
    and there are multiple endings.
    The Following does feel like an expansion, but delivered differently and this could have been a full-fledged game…
    There is easily over 10 hours of content here.
    This expansion takes place in the country side, the map is huge, quests can be thousands of kilometers apart
    luckily for you the following introduces a buggy to the game
    The buggy has its own skill tree and its own craftable parts…
    You get parts and fuel from gas stations and broken down cars…
    You get xp by running over zombies and driving fast…
    The buggy is a great edition to dying light and makes traversing the country side a blast..
    At least while things are close by…
    because ultimately the level design makes the buggy gameplay not so fun…
    There’s a trophy called “I don’t approve of mindless fun” in the game, and this is apparent with how the world seems like it was designed specifically to slow you down, waste your time, and hinder fun…
    You can’t go far until you make it to a bridge clogged with cars, mountains or rivers you can’t drive over or through…
    They give you an awesome tool to have fun with then take it away with all of the roadblocks, turning this back into what dying light was... a chore…
    The story here is a little weird and based on some sun religion, you’re investigating because they’ve been able to stop infected from turning into zombies, so you want this cure, but to get close to the inner circle you have to help out the children of the sun, aka everyone that lives in the countryside
    Side quests are mandatory here, but not all of them.. you get to pick and choose…
    This is a little disappointing because some of the side quests I did are tied to characters I cared about and feel like these quests can too easily be missed by non completionists, and that they won’t really get to the meat of the story…
    I would have much rather seen a story with no side quests..scrapping the liberating and clearing volatile nests, and just deliver a branching story… which they could have done.. they have all of the quests here to do that…
    Had they delivered this way, the following would have ultimately felt like a $60 game rather than just a giant map with some stuff you can check out if you want…
    This expansion was so close to matching the level of Dying light for 1/3 of the price
    Dying Light The Following can be fun at times,
    but techland are against that sort of thing,
    I give Dying The Following Enhanced Edition
    a 7.5/10

    Five Word Review: Too much driving, open spaces.
    Favorite Thing: More Dying Light is always a good thing.
    Least Favorite Thing: Driving gets repetitive fast. I got really tired of driving from Point A to Point B.

    Date Completed: 2018-03-10
    Playtime: 13h
    Enjoyment: 5/10
    Recommendation: No. While the base game is phenomenal, this expansion forgot what made it great.

    - графические проблемы с текстурами, мерцание.
    - отвратительный сюжет в котором убивают всех персонажей. Нулевая реиграбельность!
    - дебильный финал хуже чем в Mass Effect 3.
    - мало оружия.
    - плохая система навигации по карте.
    - система взлома замков раздражающая, в Fallout 3-4 намного проще и удобней.
    - крафтинг предметов в инвентаре неудобный, я хочу 20 аптечек сразу, а не нажимать 10 раз на кнопку!

    Dying Light 2 жду, но сценаристов которые убивают сюжетных персонажей, надо посадить на кол!

    The game started to feel like a chore, so I left it unopened for a few months before I uninstalled it, essentially *driving* me to watch the endings on YouTube. If you liked the core game, it's hard to guarantee the same for this one.

    Not as great as the original, but still very solid game. Gets rid of parkour and adds large open world countryside map and vehicles. Overall still great game, but not the same vibe. You can import your equipement from the main game for a quick start.

    Expansion what extends above-average game, can´t be much better than original by definition. Although The Following improves the original a bit, it mostly sticks to a similar standard. For your money you get a lot, but none of this is unfortunately unique. And one of the few innovations – 4-wheeler buggy car – has no effect at all. If it wouldn’t be for the multiplayer, it would be an average expansion.
