Dungeon siege 1 was a great game. Then they released the expansion - Legends of Aranna . Still ok. Then they released "Dungeon Siege 2" with the SAME graphics engine AGAIN. What started out looking nice is now years behind the curve. Basically, they've been using dungeon siege as a cash cow to provide money for the development of "Supreme commander". Those of us who actually liked Dungeon siege 1 was a great game. Then they released the expansion - Legends of Aranna . Still ok. Don't be fooled by the names; what you have here is Dungeon Siege 1.3 (Broken world). Just more of the same -- at full price! If they want more money let them try venture capitalists; they shouldn't try to hoodwink us. Expand

Don't let 'reissue' merchants bank on your lack of imagination. Buy something else. It's a mediocre all been done before bore feast. No I haven't bought the game but I've played it and struggled to stay awake. Anyone out there with an original idea for a game? I'm willing to try anything other than 'Whatever No. 2, 3 and 4'.

Dungeon Siege 2 was a great hack-and-slash dungeon crawl, and this expansion gives you more it. If you enjoy a good dungeon brawl, you'll enjoy the expansion. I did.

the expansion destroed the game because now ppl can invert the single players characters in the 39th lvls to the multiplayers gaming & creat gold AND VERY VERY WORTH ITEMS + in the expension there was barely bags fixing so that players can still wear 2handed sowrd with shield wich is very poor.

This expansion did a great job of continuing the story set out in DSII. It had many much needed improvements and was very enjoyable. Highly recommended!

What good is an expansion for an already broken game? Well, it can fix things. Or it can add more dumbness. "Broken World" does the latter. It changes nothing of the fundamental gameplay flaws of the main program, it adds only more stuff to NOT play with. I was so deeply disappointed with DS 2. No, i'm not talking of the graphics. They're ok. It's the gameplay, the balancing, the terrible, terrible savegame-system. Nothing feels right, the interface is cluttered with unreadable fonts, tons of nearly sensless gameplay features are making navigating through the interface and the actual combat often a very frustrating experience. And yes, i've mentioned it. The savegame system! My "favourite"! For God's Sake, dear Developers! Why do you insist on implementing a savegame system, fitting for online play on remote servers FOR A SINGLEPLAYER GAME??? When i am playing with myself ( ;) ) i want so restore the game right at the place and moment i saved it the last time. With DS 1, you got it right. DS 1 was nearly perfect. A little fun arcade hack'nslash game. DS2 and its expansion are complete failures. And no, complexiy does not stand for making everything complicated! Expand

Before you consider this game you should consider that you cant convert your multiplayer characters from DS properly without incurring what is apparently a a known bug referred to as the "inn bug". Rather than explain that in length here let's just say its a showstopper and GPG has issued no fix for it. Its such a showstopper that it makes the game virtually unplayable. I'm amazed they are even allowed to continue carrying it on the shelves with such a major bug. I would advise NOT purchasing this expansion until they release a patch. Since it doesnt appear they are going to release a patch I would advise writing them to request your money back maybe that would get them moving and fix this POC. Expand

It's not much as an expansion pack, but it does have its merits. The combo classes are fun to work with and the reagent recipes make for a nice little scavenger hunt. The new campaign has a pretty basic plot and it's mostly just more of the same old striking and shooting and blasting. Broken World does offer everything an expansion should, after all: new game elements, new characters, tons of content, and fan-suggested tweaks. But, somehow, it still isn't all that much fun. The only conclusion to draw from this evidence is that the base game isn't very compelling in and of itself.
  2. Broken World brings a couple of welcome new features to an already good game, but the short campaign and lack of compelling content will leave you feeling disappointed.

If you really crave more of that Dungeon Siege II action, you'll definitely find it in Broken World. The problem is, you won't find enough of it to last you more than two or three days.
