This game is an absolute classic. The textures are (obviously) very oldschool but still hold up extremely well to this day. I would recommend playing with friends as it makes it easier every now and then and less tedious on some stages

With an multitude of challengers and new campaign levels as well as the Quest for the Eternia Shard levels I can't wait for the 4th level the Sky level it should be awesome as this game has been.

Edit (26/04/2021): Played 1072.2 hours this game really is a game I enjoy self-medicating with, can be very chill at times and unnerving at times too its really a great all round Tower Defense/FPS/TPS game.

My favourite game of all time.
Played this on the PS3 back in the day until I moved to PC for the rest of the DLC
Pros: Hundreds of hours of content with all the DLC. Around 50+ with just the base game. Plenty of content Decent variety including survival, strategy mode, challenges, PvP, 5 difficulty options Solid RPG mechanics with lots of loot and playing trading / shops Good

    Good amount of classes
Each class has 5 defences each and can be upgraded 5 times each

    Cons:

Not enough graphics options, capped at 60 fps. Uncapping it in the .ini will break the physics
Newer content added to the game is focused towards max level characters, being impossible for anyone else

    Things to note:

This game has a lot of DLC and it is very important to get the full experience. I'd recommend waiting for a sale
This game is very very grindy. If you don't like grindy games, this will not be for you

If it wasn't for the game lacking graphics options and optimization, it would be a 10/10

Dungeon Defenders is an amazing tower defense game. It's challenging when you play solo and it's fun when you play with your friends. There are plenty of options to customize your heroes. There are a lot of maps and most of them has multiple game modes. It's just worth every penny because it's a never ending challenge.

While dungeon defenders is showing its age it is still one of my favorite games of all time.

The unique way the game plays mixing tower defense and character progression feels brilliant, and it only gets better with friends.

Great game. Fun, addictive, lots of content. In my opinion it has too many DLCs bul well, I guess developers will never stop adding tons of DLCs to a game instead of finishing it.

The game has a fantastic and cosy atmosphere, funny character design, enjoyable soundtrack, many cool maps and most of all, very team-based and -intensive gameplay. It feels like it has a lot of love put into it's development, which makes it very much worth the buy if you've got a friend or two to play it with.

Grab some friends, or random internet strangers, and give this game a try; you'll be addicted. Despite the cutesy graphics and colors the gameplay can actually be pretty difficult. Plus, there are enough characters, weapons, maps, and upgrades to keep you busy for as long as your little heart desires.

Superb fun mix of battle and tower defense. One of the best online PvE experiences out there. The initial game itself is cheap but there are a billion expansion packs which push the price up for the full experience. Fun levelling up system. Only minus in my eyes is the large amount of impatient experienced players, but that's always going to be a problem with co-op.

I feel a bit conflicted about giving this a 10, but it earned it. The graphics are cartoon-like, but it works very well. The action is amazing. You start a map with the goal of keeping the monsters from getting your crystal(s). They come in every increasing waves that last a few minutes each and in between you build/upgrade your defenses. The FPS comes in play with some of the character builds in that you participate in the combat first person with ranged or melee weapons. The replay-ability is the key anchor for my score. You can play it single or multi-player. Either works well, although most of my time has been single player. There is a token plot, which is interesting that is woven through 4 cut scenes. I picked it up cheap because it's over a year old, but it would have been worth it even at full price. Expand

    - beautiful Comic graphic
    ...and much more!!!

    THE GOOD: I would definitely highly recommend this game to anyone as it covers many aspects of gameplay;
The RPG element in respect to leveling your character, their defences/minions, weapons, armour AND pets.
The Tower Defence element, set in waves with many customisable options to increase/decrease difficulty, wait time during a build period and so on. and lastly, The Fantasy genre,

    and lastly,
The Fantasy genre, which I know is a bit broad, but the game doesn't feel as cheap as it's initial asking price, it feels like a cartoonish magical land with quite a nice atmosphere.
I've also noticed people complaining about the amount of DLC and it's pricing. The DLC in itself as a complete pack from my research at standard price comes to the price of a fully completed A list game upon first release, which might seem pricey but for the content offered, it isn't as shocking as first indicated. In fact, my first ever character was DLC: 'The Summoner who even offers an RTS element into the game.

THE BAD: There isn't too much to say bad about this game apart from as far as it's single player goes, it isn't all that fun. I would probably stress that this is for gamers who play alongside one another.
That being said, the game's standard multiplayer has a maximum of 4 people. I understand that there might be mods out there that I have not checked for and it is difficult with the map sizes and mana system for more players, but 4 is still somewhat disappointing.
This game can get repetitive, but in fairness that is all down to personal preference of genre as absolutely any other game can too.

OVERALL: Definitely a great purchase for multiplayer, be it the standard edition or complete with all of the DLC. This is a game that's been out for nearly two years already and still doesn't feel dated.

An obvious buy for fans of RPG and TD games. I was afraid of buying this game because I wasn't sure if the combination would work, but it is a fantastic game with easy controls and few technical problems.... I actually can't even think of a single technical problem I have run into. (i've played over 100 hours of this game).

I'm a huge fan of Trendy Entertainment's criminally underrated Tower Defence/RPG mash-up, Dungeon Defenders. It is pretty good on iOS devices, but it truly shines on PS3 and 360. But with it not *really* clicking with the iPad's buttonless interface, I was almost foaming at the mouth at the prospect of finally being able to play Dungeon Defenders on the go with the planned Playstation Vita port. However, that has now been canned, and I'm absolutely gutted. Seriously, I'm devastated. That's how much this fabulous little game has me hooked. It isn't perfect, far from it in fact, but I for one utterly adore it. If Trendy are listening, and if it is viable in any possible way, please, PLEASE bring this wonderful game to Vita. In fact, with it's dual screens, it'd work equally well - if not better - on Nintendo's 3DS. Either way, I need the definitive version of Dungeon Defenders in handheld form. Dungeon Defenders is an overly unique game. Its mixture of Tower defense, Action RPG really work with each other. It allows you to go full Tower defense or full action or anywhere in between, it is totally your choice who you play. With hundreds of different weapons, armours and pets and then hundreds of version of those different Weps, Armours and pets, the possibilities are endless.

As a fan of tower defense, being able to play in action RPG view instead of bird's-eye view, for the first time I feel I am really contributing effort to the defense. I had most fun in the online co-op mode and enjoyed very much for some time. Sadly, the game then becomes repetitive grindfest and that's when the fun diminishes. Still, it is worth playing.

The battles aren't overly difficult on normal, and give money and unique gear rewards for beating them on advanced and extreme. This encourages the player to go back through the battles every so often for the sweet prizes. The story is light, humorous and never takes itself too seriously. So I bought this one long after release so no patch issues, game issues etc. So far I've played to level 15 around 4 hours of game time with various characters with various friends. I think the appeal for me is the pick and play style of the multi-player - people can join and hook up when they are on and you can get very tactical and have lots of fun at the same time. I may have initially been disappointed by the focus on online play, but these fears quickly passed as I discovered what an enjoyable game Dungeon Defenders is. 13 maps with 15-20 hours of play is a considerable amount of initial content, but the extra challenges and loot-hunting are what will keep you coming back. Working out strategies and tower placement is a great fun, and finally succeeding in your strategy is immensely satisfying. Some of the online features are a little rough, but if you enjoy a good tower defence game, then you should not miss this one.
