Duke battles his way across towering skyscraper rooftops and through gritty subway stations on the hunt for power-hungry villain, Mech Morphix. Mutants of every kind are thrown at Duke as he chases down Morphix through eight huge environments and avoids the green slime called GLOPP that is causing all the chaos. But radioactive slime isn't Duke's only problem--there over 25 uniquely dangerous mutated enemies hell-bent on making a meal of him. Whether it's Uzi-sporting alligators or ten-foot tall roach beasts--Duke's in town to blast bad guys and save babes. Sure, pipe bombs, a machine gun, a rocket launcher and a pulse cannon are gonna make a goo-filled mess in the Big Apple, but what's a hero to do? [ARUSH] Expand

It's nice to see Duke again, and even nicer to have a great modern platform game. [Sept 2002, p.84]

An entertaining (yet short-lived) experience... a fun throwback to platform games. [21 June 2002, p.87]
  3. Every visual facet about the game is brimming with life, textures are crisp and colorful, shadows reflect accurately, weapons look very cool, and of course Duke himself has never looked better.

A surprisingly solid game. The richly detailed, unique level design will surprise you if you have preconceived notions of side-scrollers. [Sept 2002, p.90]
  5. With a level editor included in addition to a long, challenging single player story line this game is definitely one to check out.

A slap of pain tand an extra dimension can't hide the threadbare plot and archaic gameplay mechanics lurking beneath the surface. [July 2002, p.68]
  7. Sadly, the ego is about the only somewhat original idea present in Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project. The stages reek of incredibly generic design. Is there an icy stage? Check! A level in a sewer? Plenty of them! A level in space, an abandoned factory and some underground lairs? Check, check and check.

Duke Nukem ManhattanThis game is exclusive for PC (not to mention Arcade version for Xbox 360, which the release in 2010 and Ios version). Duke Nukem Manhattan Project is really good game, much better than Duke Nukem Forever, 3D Games with awesome graphics isnt for Duke Nukem Series. Graphics in Duke Nukem Manhattan Project is average for 2002, storyline is amazing, even better than in Duke Nukem 3D, gameplay is very funny, as in first Duke. Manhattan Project is latest game in Duke Nukem Series in my opinion, because Duke Nukem Forever not deserve Duke Nukem Series. Expand

In fact, it's one of the first "2.5"D games released on PC, before this trend hit with Trine, the Bionic Commando remake, etc. While the graphics aren't amazing, DN:MP, unlike most other games in the 2.5 genre, actually *uses* the third dimension. Many levels have 2-3 levels of foreground/background and such, which adds a refreshing change to the run and gun gameplay. It's also dirt cheap and DRM-free on GoG's website. Having played the Duke Forever demo... I'd say this game is way better if you need a Duke fix. Expand
