    It's an excellent title, I had a lot of fun, I expected it, I'm a fan of the saga, sometimes I play the first title, recommended.

    After 10 years this game is still fantastic, very funny and very well done. It's not just a matter of shoot it also has some puzzles and a varied gameplay with multiple devastating weapons that can demolish the evironment (cars, walls, etc).
    I can't understand why is so subrated.

Актуальненько выглядит - пришельцы забрали у дюка всех красивых женщин потому, что они ныли в твиттере а президент старается им угодить... зачем? Мы сейчас в месте где женщин(настоящих) нет пришельцы всех забрали и диктуют свои повесткиЭтот президент напоминает всех тех кто проталкивает все повесточки в играх, фильмах, сериалах, а пришельцы это те кто ноют, дюк белый цисгендорный мужик.     Сама игра не идеальна но выйди он сейчас было бы - девушки слишком сексуальны убрать, дюк должен быть черным и геем, и безвольным, всегда спрашивать что ему делать у президентши которая сильная и независимая, а пришельцев просто не поняли у них тоже есть чувства.    … Expand

    Не гоните на дюка, игра огонь, поржать и убить пару часиков самое то:)
    Играл на выходе и позже переиграл пару раз, игра прикольная и интересна в плане шутера и приколов

    Completely true to the Duke Nukem series, for better or for worse. Wasn't quite worth the wait, but it's an enjoyable experience for any fan of the franchise/boomer shooters in general.

И что же смогли выпустить создатели Borderlands в лице Gearbox, совместно с авторами оригинала 3D Realms? Сейчас узнаем. Для начала поговорим о сюжете. Опять инопланетное вторжение,    КОРОЛЬ ВЕРНУЛСЯ, ДЕТКА!

    Многострадальная игра, разработка которой длилась 14 лет. Смена игровых движков, актуальность игрового процесса - эти и не только вопросы являлись палками в колёсах разработчиков. И что же смогли выпустить создатели Borderlands в лице Gearbox, совместно с авторами оригинала 3D Realms? Сейчас узнаем.

    Для начала поговорим о сюжете. Опять инопланетное вторжение, но завязка отличается от того, что было в прошлых частях. На сей раз президент США хочет договориться с иноземцами о перемирии, но Дюк понимает, что от пришельцев ждать ничего хорошего не приходится. Тогда он после долгого перерыва берётся за свой кольт и идёт спасать девочек матушки-Земли.

    Основной минус игры, по мнению большинства критиков, заключается в том, что игра отошла от своих оригинальных канонов. Но так ли это? За свои годы серия успела побывать в таких жанрах, как платформеры, шутеры. И фишка Duke Nukem не в истреблении монстров, а в самом главном герое. Играя, мы должны забавляться от шуток Дюка, удивляться его крутости в расправе над врагами.

    Этот момент мы обозначили. И стоит поговорить про игровой процесс. Это шутер, но в нём нет толп врагов. Вместо этого, переходим из комнаты в комнату, иногда решая головомки, аля Half-Life. За всю игру нам встретятся несколько боссов, которые в русской локализации прозваны "главарями". Некоторые из них отличаются от других, но чаще всего перед нами предстают военачальники инопланетных сил, либо увеличенные копии обычных врагов. Для уничтожения предоставлен арсенал из разного вооружения, среди которого есть и довольно экзотические варианты, вроде "морозильника", который превращает врагов в ледышку для дальнейшей казни. Казнь - один из элементов игрового процесса. Вместо полоски здоровья, у Дюка "эго". И это самое эго можно восполнить брутальной расправой над врагом. Пополнение эго происходит благодаря "трюкам" Дюка - различным действиям, вроде потягать штангу или забросить баскетбольный мяч в корзину.

    К сожалению, главный минус игры исходит из её особенности. Дюк редко когда может стать примером для подражания. Зачастую он называет девушек "тёлочками" и мусорит пивными банками, предварительно срыгнув.

    В остальном же это крепкая хорошая игра, в которой можно с удовольствием провести 10-12 часов, которые понадобятся для полного прохождения. После концовки нам откроются дополнительные материалы, из которых можно будет узнать о ходе и истории разработки.    … Expand

    To be fair, this turned out to be as expected, an enjoyable homage to DN3D, It nods its head to oldschool, even if it has its foibles (2 weapon loadouts grr). I for one grew up at the right time and had the opportunity to play wolfenstien 3d, doom (and all its incarnations) quake etc. etc. (and ofc. DN3D) on thier respective first releases.     Humor is on point, the game runs great, the graphics are good, the shooting is AMAZING.

    This game is really underrated. If you get further in the game, starting with the level at the dam, then the level design is very good and the levels are detailed. There's just something wrong with the graphics options. If you play the game with Post Soecial Effect on, then everything looks ugly. This is probably why people were complaining.     Duke Nukem is just like a wine - the more time passes, the better if feels. DNF brings back that feeling of old classics that would meet an expectation of old fans, remembering how it was to kick ass and chew bubblegum.     The game was overhyped but it is not a bad game it is actually really fun and enjoyable. Maybe the jokes are not so funny but the weapons are nice and the maps are fun to play. The multiplayer is also pretty enjoyable

    This game was destined to fail ever since year five in development, so it really doesn't matter now, but like I said, if you were a fan of the original 'Duke 3D' game, then this game should be pretty enjoyable for you. Or maybe it won't be, who cares, either way get f'd and buy it cheap. But still, 'Forever' manages to be more imaginative than 75% of new shooters out there today and maintains some of the humor and feel of gameplay from the original. The storyline is the same 'save the world from the aliens' but what else did you expect, and each map feels fresh and fun to play through each and every time, with small puzzles and challenges along the way.

    Overall, this is a game most people have most likely already forgotten about, but it's still incredibly fun if you ask me. And even though it's probably not the game that the developers originally set out to make, I'm still thankful to have been able to play this version. So pick this one up for a few bucks during the next sale if you're a fan of Duke Nukem or shooters in general. Because 'Forever' is a pleasant change from the mundane, everyday shooters that most people play day in and day out.    … Expand

    I don't get why people are hating on this game so much, it isn't bad. It has smooth graphics witch is a plus, and the ability to throw **** witch makes it at lest x100 better that cod.

I also seen some complaints with the story... well how the **** do you write a story so compelling with a Muscled up dude spouting one liners stolen from pop culture, killing aliens and saving babes? It's no Mass Effect and certainly no Walking Dead! If someone wants to take the story seriously, be my guess, but I'm going to call you an idiot for doing so.

    The gameplay is nothing short of amazing, it's just run of the mill pretty much, simple yet fun, that's why I like it. Plus the interactivity with the world around you is something I have always adored in any game, Half Life and Deus Ex come to mind in terms of shooters. The only thing that was **** was **** Pinball and Air Hockey! Trying to get the Achievements for them was **** impossible!
    The only thing that is pathetic is the melee, gone is your mighty boot (at least not when it's an execution move) and now it's just a weak bashing attack with your gun.

    Overall this game isn't horrible, but it's not exactly great either. It's no Duke Nukem 3d but it's still fun to play in my opinion. If you're going to buy it, get the PC version, which is the definitive version since you have better graphics and you can carry 4 weapons at a time which is a whole lot better than the measly 2 CoD/Halo standard.    … Expand

I can understand it when people say "It wasn't worth the anticipation" and "We've moved on since then". But the game should be played with a conscious reminder that DNF is what it was suppose to be back in 2001, and shouldn't be compared to any other games forI honestly found nothing wrong with the game, everything seemed really smooth, from the humor, to the graphics and the minigames. NOTE: To those reviewers out there, please, some advice: Finish the game before reviewing it and review the title for what it is, Duke Nukem, nor CoD orDespite what many people that DID NOT FINISH wrote in here, I'll be crystal clear and give you a BS-Free review. However, I'll put aside the LOOOOOOOOONG development time (13 yrs) to give you an objective and unbiased review.     PROS - Humor, game mechanics work well, gore, puzzles Half-Life style, chicks, the game kept the original Duke style and feel (from Duke Nukem 3D)
    CONS - Some graphic issues, no manual save feature (game saves using checkpoints), weapon arsenal limited to 4 (you can replace them at any time in-game, tho), many annoying jumping puzzles
    BOTTOM LINE: If you enjoyed Duke Nukem 3D, grab this title on the next sale and add it to your collection. It's worth it.    … Expand

    I walked into this game having only played a few minutes of any previous alterations but I have got to say it was pretty fantastic. Duke himself is voiced by the great Jon St. John.

    If you like humor and FPS games this is a sure purchase because of how cheap it is now.

    responsive and good feeling of controls. Many underrated ideas would have modern today gamecompany huge balls to have in the released game duke has to have balls! For what happened in development process, and we are happy to have tis at all gotta forgive the graphics, but i say i see many nice inventions in models.     I really liked this game. Indicated for everybody that play a classic Duke Nukem. The variety of every level is very good. But the level 3 that Duke is shotting in aliens that try leave yours spaceships is amazing.

    I thought this was actually a very bad game considering the reviews but I liked it lot (except for end bosses, but I don't like those in any game). It has much of the same humor as the old duke3d game but pretty good graphics. Not much to say about game play, like any FPS you shoot, blow etc. through a level and at the end there is the end boss.

    A great classic Duke romp. The reason it gets so much hate, is because expecations are far too high because of the very extended dev time. This is a triple A game and deserves that respect. Great fun. decent graphics by todays standards.

    This game was great. A lot of interest in it for example to increase the ego, you can add a lot of things, like if you smoke, have sex, etc.. I do not understand why you are scolding the program. But I understand the artwork, but they could not have been better bring out a more than 10-year graphic engine (Unreal Engine 1).

    Great game, nice to play, good multyplay, lovely character it is simple and has action, has nice enemys and I want more, please make a new Duke Nukem game, now do in sandbox style, like Farcry 3 and Dead Island, please, dont going to do a linear game again, the game could be better, if it was exploration with maps, principal missions and side quest. The rest of it, is a rockroll game.Great game, nice to play, good multyplay, lovely character it is simple and has action, has nice enemys and I want more, please make a new Duke Nukem game, now do in sandbox style, like Farcry 3 and Dead Island, please, dont going to do a linear game again, the game could be better, if it was exploration with maps, principal missions and side quest.     Duke Nukem Forever is a nod to the heyday of 1990 gaming. Fans of the franchise should enjoy and appreciate the game for what it is, everyone else will either love it or hate it. GearBox got the game right, the problem is the game industry has changed and many people will be unwilling to accept Duke Nukem's rude, crude, misogynist attitude. In my eyes, this game is perfect.

    They said that the game was the worst game of the year, but for my surprise, when I played the game, I said to myself, "This is really Duke Nukem", I have had played some fps, but Duke Forever, brought me a lot of fun, is really nice kill enemys in Duke Nukem Forever, Great and large bosses, and now you can carry 4 guns, tripmines, pipbombs and holoduke. DLC The Doctor who Cloned Me isThey said that the game was the worst game of the year, but for my surprise, when I played the game, I said to myself, "This is really Duke Nukem", I have had played some fps, but Duke Forever, brought me a lot of fun, is really nice kill enemys in Duke Nukem Forever, Great and large bosses, and now you can carry 4 guns, tripmines, pipbombs and holoduke. I accept it as it is because it is still a good game, it's a refreshing shooter because it isn't too modern for me like most shooters being released nowadays.

    DNF gets a lot of bad reviews... Those guys haven't understood The Duke. Duke Nukem is all about over the top comments during a brutal shoot'em up. This is indeed the game i was waiting for, having played DN1, 2 & 3D as a kid. If you want CoD, go and play that, and get off my lawn! The Duke is for people wanting to kick ass, and possibly chew bubblegum. Period.

    aber mir fehlt im spiel die gewisse würze darum vergebe ich dem Spiel 7 Gute Punkte :)

    An interesting game, in my opinion better than the project 15 years ago, recently bought a CD with a retro - games, all set and the first thing started to play Duke Nukem 3D, graphics are not terrible, and the plot, or what I do not understand

    I don't understand the Critic's reviews. This has too much of a low rating. The fact that Duke Nukem 3D is meant to be appreciated and understood first before playing Forever, the reviews written have been pretty unfair. Duke Nukem Forever is a great game, amazing graphics and has kept the ideas coming of funny monsters, easy gameplay, great jokes and lots of fun. I recommend it to everyone.

    CLASSIC! FOR THOSE OF USE WHO STILL LIKE OLD SCHOOL GAMING! It was a perfect blend of classic duke gameplay with nextgen tech. You can tell someone put some time into this title, unlike so many other games out there. I'm not complaining! And for all of those who are, better not let the Duke here ya!

The difference between four guns to two guns, and the improved graphical capabilities of this game made a world of difference to me. Duke is still the same Duke, one-liner spewing, babe-loving, gun-toting badass, but it helps that the updated graphics brings it in line with more modern dayBefore the patch, I ranked this game a six.     Got this game from a Steam promotion and i was a bit disapointed with the very low overall score. Its extremely underrated, really, i had lots of fun with this game, Its Duke for God sake, one of the best characters ever and only 54? pfft. Well this game has a good gameplay with some okay graphics but what really enjoyed in this game is the interracion that we have and also the catchGot this game from a Steam promotion and i was a bit disapointed with the very low overall score. It does not deserve all the harsh reviews it's getting, it deserves a 8.5/10 maximum and a 6.5/10 minimum any reviews that rate it below 6.5 are completely unfair and should not be noted. Duke Nukem Forever is just FINE. Dedicated Fans of the series will love this game regardless of the reviews.

    This game is one of the greatest playing experiences i have had in a long time. It's a game that's not serious and it knows it. There is a lot of variety in the missions and even though the story is not deep at all it's told in an awesome way!!! HAIL TO THE KING BABY!!!

I couldn't even see the character in the Duke Nukem 3D unless you went to certain areas like a toilet, the graphics were THAT BAD.     I went into this game knowing not to take it seriously. The fact that my friend told me I can pick up poop in a bathroom stall in the first map was the giveaway. I saw that as an opportunity to try out a satirical game that was nonsensically hilarious that included some rage-venting action. It's not my favorite game (by far), but I had a hell of a good time playing it.

    The nudity is actually a welcome addition as it's well rendered & it's nice to see a developer not chickening out in fears the censors might frown a little. Most people scream about it & say it's not appropriate. That's wrong... in battlefield 3 it would be in appropriate. In this game it fits... that is it actually makes sense based on the "aliens trying to take over the planet & adapt". True... a race so advanced would have better ways to steal our dna but I'd rather see the nudity vs a poor science montage.
    I'd rather play this then that waste of hdd space Homefront which I also just reviewed. Guess which one got uninstalled to make way for older games? Hint: Not Duke Nukem Forever.    … Expand

    The playability is great with smooth movement and good feeling movement. Basic first person shooter feel and controls. There are tons of fun and silly things to do and find along the way with rewards if you do them. I honestly think had this game been priced lower around $20-$30 bucks, it would have gotten much better reviews. I think the majority of bad reviews are from people who don't know Duke Nukem and what the game and character is about. This is NOT a game to be taken seriously. Enjoy it for what it is.    … Expand

    Graphics 8/10 - The graphics could be better but only a little, but for a Unreal 2.5 Engine, if you max it out, it is pretty ground breaking.

    Storyline 9/10 - The one liners that made the previous Duke Nukem games so funny are back, it needs a little more of them, and the story is your over the top cliche american macho man, saving the world. But its represented in that humerous way that will win you over, you may even shed a few tears. (specially with the Holsom Twins RIP) :(

    Level Design 10/10 - Some people say the level design is a bit bland, far from it, It borrows from the half-life franchise, on puzzles ,ect and the Rat size levels are just brilliant and funny, It may be copying but it works really well.

    Multiplayer 6/10 - The multi-player is pretty sound, if your willing to over look the flaws, theres a server browser though it might as well be matchmaking since of the lag and lack of dedicated servers.

    I enjoyed this game very much, and i'll tell you why its been getting so much hate. The people who are hating it are the people who played Duke Nukem 3d back in the day. They were teens who had just discovered breasts and swearing. So no wonder you were disapointed when you got Duke Nukem Forever and you couldn't re-live how you remembered DN3D

    I dont know why everone ranked this game so low! Ive been playing these games for years and granted that the game has come out years late it was a great game. If you expected a deep dramatic storyline then you never played the last duke. It was an action game with funny one liners and **** It was great. I liked it and cant wait for the next duke. The casino was greatly detailed, there were quite a few maps of it, the stripclub, and the remote truck as well as other neat stuff. The smoothness of the game was great, the difficulty had artificial intelligence built-in to govern gameplay dynamics, which gave respect to the control system of the original game, FPS. I'm giving it a 10 for a game that expands upon previous steps up in fps gameplay, The **** looked real. The faces were right-on for a game, great detail with smoothness. The faces were obviously not meant to look real, doll-like really, but I imagine giving one much detail would lead to not only an artist costs, but higher model expectations as well. It was great to reminisce on, I unlocked all maps in about 3 days of hardcore play on next up from easy.… Expand

Its fun, the one liners are funny (Bulletstorm is just as funny imo) and duke nukem at least on the PC has some BALLS of STEEL. The Less said about the console releases the better. For a true Nukem Experience, the PC is the place to be.

People keep saying that the pace was too slow, I guess you can go play some mindless COD if you want fast pace, but I for one spent hours and hours just playing the numerous minigames and loving every minute

But seriously, what did you expect? This game went through what? 3 DEVELOPMENT STUDIOS? So this game has gone through a lot and 3D Realms wanted it to be the perfect game.     It's not COD4 or B:BC2 and thank goodness for that - There are more then enough realistic shooters out there. It was time for a bit of fun, and DNF delivers that - Its got its flaws for sure but it doesn't try to be anything other then a hell of a lot of fun to play. Just go into it with an open mind and prepare to laugh out loud more then you've done in while with a game...

    The positive reviews must have been written by employees of the program designers. Its the worst $44 ever spent on a game. The 1 min spent each time you re-spawn is awful, especially if your a bad player. and you die often. On the positive side and there are very few, its a good story and the graphics are fun.
    Do not waste money on this game, wait until its available in Wallmart for $4.95.

The gameplay to me mostly reminds HL2 - some easy physics puzzles, some throwable objects, use of improvized weapons to kill enemies and it is equally as scripted. Some dated but funny and very nostalgic mid-1990s "macho man" style of humor. This actually has been critisized a lot but I think it fits Duke's character very well - according to the story-line the guy was sitting in his layer isolated from the world for 12 years. So yeah, he has missed the wave of political correction that came since. We can't blame him. And should aliens attack in real life we would need Duke kick their a** and take names. My biggest let down is the limit of just two guns at a time. You basically have to choose guns for which ammo is available. For an old-school shooter that is also very scripted it takes away the fun of experimenting killing the waves of the enemies in as many ways as possible. I mentioned waves of enemies, well, they are not here either. That is my second problem with the game - number of enemies is small but their AI level is low. It should be either a) few smart enemies or b) hundreds of dumb ones. So the game tends to be a bit too easy.

    In summary: - The good: It is fun, good old-school shooting, the script is good, some puzzles are innovative, - The bad: dated graphics, limit of two primary guns, dumb console-style tapping to acomplish some stunts or open doors, too easy. Also too much loading.    … Expand

    Not sure why the reviewers are trashing the game, think has something to do with them not recieving advanced copies to review. I found the entire game entertaining, and not sure what people are playing when they say its boring, theres alot more fun content in this game compared to most FPS shooters I've played of late. I hope to see a level editor or a followup game to this franchise soon.

    I can't understand: why nobody like this game? It's really cool! A lot of good jokes, explosive gun part, and driving on the BIGFOOT makes this game quite interesting. I've finished Duke Nukem Forever and I can tell you with great pleasure that it isn't boring. You should try it!

    OK so this game needs some positive press, so here's my 2 cents. I've played the Single Player game thoroughly. I'm level 22 or so on Steam (multiplayer). I've had a lot of fun with this game. I mean, a lot. If there are people out there who are deciding not to try the game out because of the bad reviews, I would just suggest to them to try the game out themselves. At least the PC demo.     Duke Nukem Forever would be quite decent if one felt entirely certain it's intended purely as a self-parody. As is, it doesn't do the expectations, the buyer or the Duke justice – oh, had he rather remained a vaporware legend!

    Bottom line: Duke Nukem Forever was not worth the 15-year wait, nor is it worth paying the full $50. However, I cannot deny that I thought it was both fun and funny, which at the end of the day is what this franchise is all about.
