This game took to me for a solid good reason, I'm old as far as the gaming world in concerned. I instantly felt a sense of nostalgia looking at the cover to this and knew I had to try it. I was more pleasantly surprised than I thought I would be. You see, the biggest misconception I get from new age gen players, is that games without color and graphics suck. When I hear them say that, I ask them if they like Mario? Yea, news flash, it wasn't always in color nor 3D.
This game gave me a sense of adventure I haven't had in a while, probably since Zelda OOT. The reason I say so, is because its gameplay is so interactive I had to keep myself from playing it. Between leveling up, exploring levels, gathering items and selling them, and getting items to complete tasks, it was really fun.
When I started, I was unsure because it does follow a couple old school rules, like figure it out on your own Dumbo or actually take the time to read the signs, which newer gamers don't seem to understand without a guide. It reminded me how nice it was to not instinctually drift through a game because you memorized the mechanics so much that almost every other game is possible as long as your muscle memory and intuition is in tack. Yea, I'm talking about shooter games.
Anyway, my point is, it didn't matter that it wasn't in color nor had amazing dimensional graphics after I started the first floor because it was interesting. I think a new age player, like a general kid, would probably get frustrated because they don't understand concepts like learning instead of being told how to do it. I do, however, appreciate the level of detail they put into it. If you like being entertained and need something to pass time this is the game! I rarely give praise for something so kudos to the creator!
