Overall, though, I can’t complain too much about a game that I had so much fun with. It may not be aimed at Dragon Quest diehards, but if you’ve ever wanted to get into the series, Dragon Quest Treasures is a great place to start.

Bottom line, the game might be a bit easy for die-hard action RPGers but that makes it an exceptional choice for younger gamers. Dragon Quest enthusiasts will find a spin-off here that is a nice nod to the Dragon Quest series as the references to other Dragon Quest games are abundant! There are also many features that should keep you busy for a while. Highly recommended, especially to any Dragon Quest fan!

Dragon Quest Treasures on Switch felt like a long-lost 3DS gem that had all the charm from an older Dragon Quest game, but one that was let down by some technical issues. On Steam Deck, it is much smoother and a better experience overall. If you already played it, there isn't anything new here, but I'm glad Dragon Quest Treasures on PC is such a great experience out of the box on Steam Deck.

If you're a fan of the Dragon Quest series and haven't picked up Dragon Quest Treasures on the Switch, its release on Steam is easily the better option and is worth checking out if you're a fan of the series or DQXI.

Dragon Quest Treasures isn’t one of the beloved franchise's best spin-offs, but it’s a worthwhile adventure that succeeds due to an imaginative location and an invigorating sense of autonomy. Dragon Quest XI’s Erik and Mia might not get the backstory they deserve, but their younger days make for a diverting action-driven experience.

Dragon Quest Treasures is an OK game which runs far better on PC than Switch.

Overall, Dragon Quest Treasures is a charming spin-off to the mainline series that satisfies the DQ itch but does leave me wanting more as the grand scope of the campaign isn’t quite there for me. That might be the point, a smaller, more intimate story, but it’s not my cup of tea. Hopefully, Monsters later this year is good, but I yearn for Dragon Quest XII but given the complete radio silence on that since 2017 I don’t expect much soon.

Despite the dull pace and combat that doesn't work as well as the traditional turn-based model, Dragon Quest Treasures is actually fun.Despite the dull pace and combat that doesn't work as well as the traditional turn-based model, Dragon Quest Treasures is actually fun. However, what is really disappointing about it is the price charged by Square on the Steam store, as the title was released for more than 200 reais, even reaching computers with months of delay. Due to this exorbitant amount and the game is not worth the price charged, the ideal is just to wait for a better opportunity to enjoy this pleasant experience. Full Review »
