The armor and weapon system is pretty standard and easy to pick up on, twenty minutes of research or so is enough to go into the game with a fairly good understanding of what needs to be done. There are some unique features like the mentor/apprentice system that are simple, yet border on ingenious. There's benefits even for maxed players to actively be leveling noobies, which has resulted in one of the most respectful and tight nit communities I've seen in an mmo. The only drawbacks I can really see with this game is not enough end game pvm content to keep people busy outside of the pvp, though I do see other complaints, primarily that there's pay to win elements which in all honestly is a misunderstanding of what pay to win is. Buying Nx can save you some time but you can become just as powerful without doing so as if you had. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm enjoying this game quite a bit, It's a little like Tera in it's combat system but simplified, It's very cartoony, Anime if you will, The game takes almost no effort to pick up and play it's that easy, But it has a lot of room to master, Many people will tell you that PvP is broken in this game, simply by juggling your opponents for a win, but doing so is a lot harder than it looks, But it could still be improved upon.

PvE on the other hand is fun, In my opinion, The bosses attacks look rather awesome than a lot of mechanics I've seen in other MMO's, You can tell by level 30 just how much effort they put into the art of the monsters attacks, special skills, and classes.

Crafting is easy to pick up and farming for items is not difficult at all, The community is great, even if many people don't speak english very well, be it kids or from another country, If you want a game that's casual, Dragons nest is for you, If you want something to do End-game that is a little challenging, This is a game for you.

My only problems with the game so far are three things.
    1. End game content PvP or PvE If you want good gear you will have to spend a little money on the cash shop or farm a lot of gold to get the things you require, It does take quite a bit of effort but not impossible.
    2. PvP, Juggling, Keeping your opponent in the air and not giving them a single chance of counter-attack, not everyone can do it but still a little broken to those who can do it flawlessly.
    3. Cash shop is a little empty, Costumes are 20 dollars which add little bit of stats, not worth it for the price and it's not necessary either, Golden eggs which give up to 100k if you're lucky but chances are you'll never win that much 4-500g, It's just out of many cash shops I've seen in other games, this one is lacking major things, All it provides for the most part are HP/MP potions and upgrading materials.

I thoroughly enjoy playing it so far. It's fun, fast-paced, and does a good job of making you want to get back into the dungeon time and time again. Playing with friends is probably the greatest part of this game. I highly recommend it since it is free to play.

For me, the combat system makes this game. I'm thrilled by the high-mobility, fast, real-time combat in PvP and PvE. I also like the option for team based PvP. The largest fault in this game, in my opinion, is the lack of character customization for appearance; there aren't a whole lot of pretty looking equipment/costumes, the characters are gender-locked based on class, and you can't really customize their appearance more than a minuscule selection of hair colors, hair styles, basic facial layouts, and skin tone.

Overall, though, if you like fast-paced fighting games, and if you can get over the childish graphics and the limited customization of appearance, I'd suggest this game.

The combat system is light years ahead of any action game, the flow of the abilities is near flawless, that alone is enough to try it and and level to at least 40. I searched for awhile to find an MMO with similiar combat, but Tera which was similiar, was not even close to this near perfect combat system. There enhancement system is also similiar to TERA, its completely RNG. But, it makes gearing up a lot slower unless you invest some $$ into it. The story is pretty good for a "free to play" MMO, and has several cutscenes. PvP is very fun and takes a lot more skill then WoW or GW2. The "raid" content is also very fun, and UNFORGIVING. The effects are also top notch and demand a lot from your GPUs but man....what a light show. You feel powerful. Very fun, but expect to invest into the cash shop. I give it a solid 7.5 / 10 Expand

I'm enjoying this game a lot. The combat is fast-paced & fun, plays more like a FPS or action-RPG than a traditional MMO yet has detailed character stats, interesting loot and customizable skill tree. The only real downside seems to be limited content, if you are the kind of person who puts crazy hours into grinding an MMO until you hit the level cap it will probably take you < 1 week, but me being a casual player I've still got a ways to go. This game is pretty awesome to me, just that it has made the mistake that almost all games make, balance, basically to be strong you need good equipment, to have good equipment you need cash, tada I quited :)

The combat skills and graphics are already more than satisfying, but no matter how good it is, improvement is always expected as combat combo the main thing of this game
There are solo players like me which usually just....... solos, in the beginning it can be fun but in late game it become really boring, the game should make it easier for player to form parties to enter dungeons, such as being able to see other players outside town near the portals.

I think that people tend to judge these types of games too negatively. The fact is, having good gear just makes you feel good. I don't know what it was like a year or two ago, but the whole point is to have fun, and achieving said gear is part of that process. If a dungeon is too hard, don't go blaming the developers for "unbalanced game play"; lower the difficulty and keep on going.

the gameplay and battle with monster have its mechanic which is very great
i played this game for years and what i love the most about this game is
    THE STORY
if you follow the main quest, MAN the story is the best off all MMORPG can give to you..
not mainstream like "this side, war with this side", "this kingdom attacked, you need to save it"
no, its more complicated and a lot of mystery
the story is so awesome, they made a movie of it.. google it, dragon nest 1 and 2 movie, dawn of something i forgot
but despite my great admiration of this game i cant give 10 out of 10 because in my country the game master of this game is money thirst pig.. more money you got, the stronger you are.. but still the difference can be outcomed by your skills and style of play and teamwork which i experienced myself for a long time.. i manage to win a lot of event with my party with decent equip, beats the player who gone crazy with their money.. that's why i believe in other country this game is totally balanced..

thankyou, and yes.. play this game.. its awesome..

This game is relatively unique among MMOs (and probably was the first or second action combo-oriented MMO). Combat is very intuitive with different handling difficulty depending on the character you pick, and very fast paced without never being reduced to a button smasher. Paying attention to your enemies animations and reactions to attacks as well as your surroundings it's just as vital to survive as learning how your own character plays. Each character class' gameplay is unique enough to guarantee you will have fun trying each one of them.

For how limited the graphics are the visuals are gorgeous, and most of the soundtrack while nothing exceptional it's entertaining and fulfills it's purpose of keeping you engaged on the combat.

There are a lot of game modes for PvE and PvP. Quests, level up rewards, the achievement system, feats system and npc friendship are very rewarding (you can get both in-game and cash shop items through this). One of the big surprises of this game is how carefully crafted the story and characters are, with such complexity that you often only see in offline/solo games.

Unfortunately, for an MMO it is not as exciting to play in party, instead the gameplay shines the most in solo/duo PvE and solo PvP. At capped levels you may find that the party gameplay gets less and less complex as you gain more skills with such huge damage values that renders a lot of your old skills useless or incovenient, to the point that a lot of people end up having exactly the same build on the same character with little to no room to experiment without sacrificing party optimization. Solo/duo PvE and 1vs1 PvP is where you can truly experiment with your character's movepool.

Another downside of this game is the amount of time one must spend to get top tier gear. If you though Monster Hunter was tiring, this game will screw you. Fortunately the game has means to cope with this, making almost every crafting material tradeable and providing alternative ways to acquire said gear other than grinding for it in it's respective dungeons (which no, doesn't involve the cash shop at all, but rather playing alternate game modes or completing achievements, and sometimes participating in events).

The customization is limited and you can't change the sex of your character, but the cash shop offers a lot of cosmetic items (which may or may not come with stats bonuses, all of which are turned off in PvP). There are a lot of skin colors, eye colors, hair colors, faces and hairstyles available to change the body of the initial character you picked. As you can pick gloves, shoes, pants, shirts and hats individually without being restricted by costume sets you can mix and match to create unique clothes for your characters. There are also earrings and decals (face tattoos) and silly costumes, wings, animal ears and tails for those who like to go around with more extravagant looks.

I want to thank the developers for the amount of care being put in this game, as it is constantly tested and you can expect a balance patch almost every month. Content updates are usually 1 or 2 times a month, so there is always something to look forward. It's such a shame that the reason why some people are giving it such low scores is due to thing that have little to nothing to do with the game or the developers: Complains about distributor-based changes, and the cash shop or community of the game version they play. My advice for anyone who wants to try out this game is make a research of all the servers available for the country you live instead of jumping into the first server you come across, and to try to get a friend to start to play with you.

This game deserves more than a 6.9 user score. I mean c'mon, this game has solid MMO feels, solid action packed gameplay, and that's not all, it also has a good environment. Classes are sweet, it doesn't get boring at all to use each class. Having played Tera, I'd say that this is my second best MMO before Tera and after Guild wars 2. 2nd best is pretty damn good. I give this game a 9/10 rating.

Its combat is deep and rewarding, and pits you against some truly interesting encounters. The care put into each and every bit of character dialogue is also evident throughout, and adds a great deal to the charm of the world.
