While the camera makes mistakes every now and then, and the AI is horrible on both sides of the spectrum, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is personally one of my favorite games from 2016. This game feels like the Pokemon X and Y of all Dragon Ball Z video games. Revolutionary graphics, especially in cutscenes, impressive character customization, and gameplay that didn't make that much that was new as much as it did improve upon what Xenoverse 1 did. The story is not exactly the best thing ever, but it was actually much better than I thought it would be, considering the standards set by the first game. In Xenoverse 2, Bardock is sent way forwards in time and mind controlled by Mira and Towa, who are working with popular DBZ movie villains Turles and Lord Slug. With their power, combined with Metal Cooler, the androids, and your Xenoverse 1 avatar if you so choose to transfer over data, Xenoverse proves through and through that it can make a good DBZ game with character customization. Before, either the customization was limited, the voice acting was bad, the character didn't feel unique, or all three. But Bandai Namco did a surprisingly good job with this Dragon Ball Z sequel.… Expand

    I'm a huge fan on the dragonball franchise and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is probably one of the best Dragon Ball games out there. It has a unique story which continues from the first Xenoverse game. The fighting mechanics are good and easy to learn. All the races are more evenly competitive. I have put in around 125 hours into the games and I still find enjoyment of opening the game andI'm a huge fan on the dragonball franchise and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is probably one of the best Dragon Ball games out there. It has a unique story which continues from the first Xenoverse game. The fighting mechanics are good and easy to learn. All the races are more evenly competitive. I have put in around 125 hours into the games and I still find enjoyment of opening the game and playing it.Character customization is great and online can be fun too. The negatives of the game is that its very similar to the first Xenoverse ( pro or con depending on how mch you enjoyed Xenoverse ), some parts of the story feels like it being dragged on. Other than that i can not find anything else wrong with the game and I would highly recommend any dragonball fan to play it.… Expand

    Negatives: the story, at the beginning it is a copy of the first game, afterwards becomes totally messed... The music is simply awful. The game is still a beta with many bugs, moves that miss the target, characters that dissapear in the walls, casting moves that never happens... Bandai also changed    Positives: better graphics, bigger city, more customizations, more playable characters.

    Negatives: the story, at the beginning it is a copy of the first game, afterwards becomes totally messed...

    Easily the best dragonball gaming experience I have ever had. DBXV was a decent game but the sequel improves it on every front. I am not sure how I feel about the 3 hours per day lobby system but that's about the worst I can say about it.

    In spite of the glitches and Random crashes, it is still a massive upgrade from his predecessor by avoiding some of the traps and finally becoming a more fast-paced version of the Budokai Tenkaichi series, with much less cheesy ways to win.

    Slighlty improved mechanics and a bit better shaders on the 3d models, nothing more. Xenoverse 2 is a perfect example, how to sell crappy dlc for the price of a full game. I hope people responsible for such business practice will burn in hell.

    completely awful, game is riddled with bugs and worst of all for a fighting game, controls are so bad it will make you cry. The only recommendation i would give people about this game is to stay far far away

    same crappy gameplay as the first one.. not much else to say really

    this is the latest DBZ fighting game yet the fighting remains inferior to DBZ games from the ps2 era

    ...still waiting for that dbz game that would trully top the ps2 predecessors.. until that happens we have to stomach another xenoverse..hopefully the last.

    Overall, it is a good game. Far from being great.

    Pros: Better graphics Lots of new skills More mentors w/o the grind for their skills Bigger city that you can fly around QQ Bang lets you use any clothing combo w/o worrying about stats Cons: The combat has been built around knock back spam. This is the reason for the 4/10. Both enemy and ally npc will use spam    Overall, it is a good game. Far from being great.

    Pros:

    Better graphics

    Lots of new skills

    More mentors w/o the grind for their skills

    Bigger city that you can fly around

    QQ Bang lets you use any clothing combo w/o worrying about stats

    Cons:

    The combat has been built around knock back spam. This is the reason for the 4/10. Both enemy and ally npc will use spam knock backs either keeping from doing anything or interrupting what you are doing.

    The ai is just as bad as in Xenoverse 1

    Most of the clothing options use the exact same model i.e. a ginyu set with leggings is the same as another sets legs.    … Expand

    the same annoying problems from the first game are still here...this game is just a copy paste version of the first game with a new look and a new name...a lazy lame cash grab to sucker the fanboys once again

    Underneath the flashy combos and graphics the game is super shallow and there's little to no depth to it......it's obvious the game was designed to capture the short attention spam of children and keep them busy with pointless grinding and rpg elements to make it seem like the game is bigger and deeper than it is

    Patetic animations, patetic combos, patetic IA, very easy game, you can win every match spaming light punch (i'm not kidding). It's an insult for Dragon ball budokai tenkaichi 3

    Everything seams to need polishing. In-game game play is about the only good thing about this one. The fighting is OK but too loose. Everything outside the game play like GUI, animations and sound feels like it is done on an amateur level. 3 hours then I bounced.

    I think this game is really good. Raging Blast 2 is still a bit cooler in terms of fighting. But to create your own fighter is really awesome.

    I would give this game a higher review if the AI wasn't downright cheap. The AI uses kickback spam and your (CPU)teammates like to just stand around and watch you get 3 on 1 ed. Most of the time your (CPU)teammates are more in your way than helping. I would actually do better if you just took my teammates out of the game because a lot of the stuff you have to unlock is behind keeping thisI would give this game a higher review if the AI wasn't downright cheap.     Xenoverse 2 is a MMO DBZ fans dream. Perfect for customization, roleplaying, exclusive content for the xeno universe, and a tcg figurine game. But it is not perfect. Needs better online, so it can kick the cheaters and stop the lag. Needs to find a way to still do events, when enough people aren't online. Need to revamp combat so it can be on par with Tenkaichi series. Give pc playersXenoverse 2 is a MMO DBZ fans dream.     Solid fighting mechanics. Better than the original with lot's of content. Servers can be a mess though. I had a lot of fun with it and I'm sure most fans of the series will too.

    Gran juego de la saga, aunque no innova en casi nada con respecto al 1, pero por lo menos no nos cobraron de nuevo por el contenido de personajes, sino agregando mas, siendo el segundo juegos de la saga dragon ball con mas personajes.

    O jogo é muito bom ele sofre com alguns problemas desempenho e esse é um dos motivos de não receber um 10 porém ele realmente me cativou,é o jogo onde eu mais me empenhei em conseguir conquistas e coletáveis e jogar coop é uma experiência incrível .

In the Anime if Goku would hit Hercule, he could kill him but what happens in games these days? An Ultra Instinct Ka Me Ha Me Ha times unlimited => hits Hercule => Hercule just gets a scratch. This game has such annoying bugs like 90% of the time having a bad aim. Locked the enemy, used an ultimate and your dumb character ends up with his back turned to the enemy. This happens ALL THE TIME. Even if the enemy stays infront of you, this happens. EVEN when you teleport behind the enemy, both are turned their back to each other... nicely done. Reporting bugs doesn't help anything, you 't don't even get a response. The game crashes all the time. The servers are crashing and kicking you out. The crazy thing is.... there is no chat system. Yes 2019 and an online game without a chat system. Oh and not to forget this bull.... of an RNG in this game. You keep farming for days just for 1-2 skills or souls.… Expand

    What a sad game. Bandai is really wasting this franchise with games that are badly put together and leave a lot to desire. The freedom side of the game is very restrictive. Character conversations feel very synthetic. Combat system is fine. Pc port is horrible, looks like a ps2 game in 3440x1440. Seems like the rendering scale is forced to 50%

    Admittedly this is just a copy of Xenoverse with some minor improvements. That said, that is all that is required for this to be an enjoyable experience with many hours clocked in creating a DBZ character.

    I think this game is the perfect example of great idea, mediocre execution. I think the idea of playing through the db story is great but, it is just the same thing. I think it would've been great if we started in the first Dragon Ball series and work through that story, then build into Z and super. Starting off at the Radizt every time gets boring. Also there is the bad online, and NO ANIMATED TALES. But most of these problems are fixed with the game's biggest pro (at least for PC), the modding community. The modding community is great and adds, fixes many singleplayer problems with the game. But with the lackluster plot, and the lack of innovation are big problems for the game. But it does have many pros, like the modding community on PC, solid combat, and great ideas. This game will have another sequel in the future and I think this is just another stepping stone for the XV series.… Expand

    This game is so bad it could serve as a master class for bad game design. We could talk about the boring, underutilized story. The massive lack of balance between moves making some options clearly superior, the mindless combat, the terrible voice acting, the bugs that, to this day, persist.

    But lets talk about the really bone headed things. If they want to do an in game cutscene, they make the opponent literally invulnerable. The enemy can still attack and harm you, but they are immortal until people finish talking. It does not matter if the enemy in this example should be powerful at all. They just become so. Enemies meant to be 'hard' have things like Super Armor (allowing them to ignore hitstun, which you the player can't) or they will, in response to you doing an ultimate, automatically teleport to you, stun you, and then attack you for most of your life. You, the player have no counter to this other than not using a bunch of your moves, making the mindless combat even more mindless.

    If this wasn't a Dragon Ball Z game, it wouldn't have sold more than a single copy. But even as a rabid fan of the series, I can't pretend to like this mess of a game. Go play FighterZ. It's actually good unlike this.    … Expand

    I thought that the game would be so-so, but when I played this game, I really liked it very much like the first one, only it differs only in high graphics, changed plot, adding characters to the DLC that cost money, musical themes, new skills, new maps of battle locations and quests. But it remained the same as that game only with the appearance of changes.     Cool game. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 have really worked out battle system. Also there are a lot of cool quests and unique story. The only, kinda big, problem - collisions, they s%ck.

    While Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 may be a better game than the original, it is by no means excellent. The story seems like an uninspired rehash, and the minimal roster changes makes it feel like a director's cut instead of a true sequel. On the PC in particular, the online community is practically extinct, and the game's semi-frequent crashes disappoint. If you're willing to put up with all that, you'll be treated to a game that feels like what the original should have been, and the fighting system is chaotic and fun. Provided this one does well, here's hoping that another sequel manages to get everything right.

    Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 should be an instant buy for long time fans of the series, and warrants a deep look from everyone else. I’d love to see a bit longer of a gap between this and the (hopefully) inevitable Xenoverse 3 than the year between the first and second titles to really hammer out some of the game’s issues, but until then we’ve still been left with a fighting game that does enough well, and enough different from its competitors, to stand worthy as it is.

    Dimps has created a sequel to Xenoverse that doesn’t quite feel like a massive advancement in the series, but there is no doubt that this is a larger and more improved experience. Dimps has decided to keep things similar and use the first game as the foundation to build this sequel on. What this means is that there is so much to do, even when one has finished up the 15 hour single player story quests.
