Excellent roleplay dynamics in a fascinating fantasy world with highly good written lore and atmosphere. You can experience a Deep immersion in an enormous game in which the lives of tour team's characters and the fate of the world depend on your choices. Best One of the Dragon Age antology. Must have if you like Classic RPG games.

This is IMO one of the best classic RPGs to play today. I am NO good at the type of action mechanics and team building (FPS is what I mainly play). But the story is and universe is such a fantastic aspect that pushed me through to keep playing and learning.

Dragon age is a game series iv come to love over the years , but getting through origins is a slog at the worst of times and an outdated but fun mess at the best.

Story: it is quite easy to get into the story of dragon age , a blight is coming when demons gain enough people confidence and a dragon to attempt to take over the surface world you ( who ever you chose to be i was a rouge female elf for this playthrough) are recruited by duncan a senior grey warden into their ranks. along with 3 others who die in the joining. now you go off to fight the blight. excel everything goes wrong , the king and duncan die , there is a traitor in the king's court , you were blamed for the betrayal and are now being hunted but also the blight was not felled and its threat still looms over ferelden. it throws so much at you at once but i'll be damned if it isn't exhilarating every choice you make from now on matters to the whole country and much later the world
    Story: 9/10

World building: as this is the first dragon age game it has to set the groundwork for the world i dont think origins is as good as 2 or inquisition but it does its best , qunari are understated as hell in this game not having horns and are instead just big people, each follower has to do with different parts of the lore , alister is a former templar and grey warden , morrigan and a apostate , wayne from the circle. ect ect , while you are getting to know your companions you get to know the world and that makes it easy to like the world. i like the idea of the blight and how its enough every time to get humanity to stop fighting( mostly) and fight it , magic is something feared but also something someone is born with not sought after making there a fear for mages outside of the circle as teh are connected to the underworld by magic. even the religion is plausible
    World building: 8.5/10

Graphics: this game came out in 2009 but this game looks older than that feels older than that. focus was put into the story and world sure. in terms of graphics this game has aged like milk . textures are muddy and get lost in themselves , faces are awkward and so are animations , character designs are saved entirely by the art direction , why does blood have o go everywhere on the character models ?
    Graphics: 3/10

Gameplay: dragon age origins doesn't know what it wants to be ? is it a tactical turn based rpg ? no but it has alot of elements of it. is it an over the shoulder 3rd person action rpg ? no but i think it wanted to be ? the game play is very confused and is stuck between 2 conflicting gameplay styles. not even to do with the rpg mechanics but what level of soom you play at , and depending on the difficulty what type of game this is , easy mode is hard and hard is also hard because you have to play them entirely different. also the events of the story are misleading and you end up at a later part if you follow it past redcliff the first time you are there so it gets frustrating. the actual mechanics are slow , chunky , tedious and somewhat boring. combat is the least fun thing in this game and you do so much of it down long corridor like dungeons that never end
    Gameplay 2/10

Sound design : actually for all the flak i'm giving this game the voice acting is pretty good , every companion character is interesting and distinct but also likeable and flawed and every performance gets that. the music is great and very fitting , sound effects are obnoxious at times but they aren't just stock sound effects like most games from this era use ( Glares at black ops 1 )
    Sound design: 8/10

    9+8.5+3+2+8=30.5
    30.55= 6.1/10

every time i start this game i think wow this is gonna be great and by the end i feel like iv been through hell and hate the game because my mind has numbed but the story and characters keep me slogging through. it's not a bad game it's just most of it has aged like cheese outside the fridge

    Classic of CRPGs!

Dragon Age:Origins( i will call it just DAO) is the fantasy RPG game from Bioware and, in my opinion, their best game. This game has wonderful plot, perhaps, one of the best in the fantasy games, amazing characters( especially companions) and side quests. Is not it all that good RPG needs? Well, it also has good battle system, big lore and a lot of twists.

The only disadvantage is, as for me, ending. There could be much better and more ending, but well, it is good enough.

Awesome story, deep lore, long and complex dialogues, unqiue companions with their own unqiue identity (personal quests, gifts, original reactions to events and so on), epic battles, great music, very good romances. Don't know what to NOT love in this game. If I had to find a dark spot on the sun, I'd say that inventory was to small.

For me just the best RPG ever. The last and the most opulent work of Bioware before it got deconstructed. NPCs you can interact with, and party characters who have exactly that: Character. It depends on how you play it, it ranges from very easy to nearly unbeatable. A story line that you will keep in your memory.

One of the first Bioware games I sunk my teeth into. This is still to this date one of the biggest time sinks I've put into a game. 4 play throughs all unique and all came out with very different endings. The dialogue felt meaningful all the way through. You know the story is good when you're more excited about the scenes in between combat than the actual combat. You will need to do a lot of reading as your character doesn't speak so just a heads up. However you won't be dissapointed. I would highly recommend a play through as a mage as the circle of magi storyline is one of the most memorable. Its ability to transport you into its world is second to none.
    Gameplay: 2.5/3
Remembering this game was first released in 2009 so the combat is very dated however going on my experience with the game I quite enjoyed matching up combos with my party. The party system felt nice and clean and the synergy between your party was noticeable if you had a elf and a dwarf in the same party, they would not get along and you would have to work around certain situations. Small detail, but sometimes they are just as important. The mage felt the most fun to play. The melee classes left a little to be desired as thr clunkiness became apparent however remembering if you go and play this game today, you will definately not enjoy the combat. Great customization, and lots of collectables to help flesh out the lore outside of dialogue.
    Sound: 2/2
Meaty sword sounds, and bludgeoning of maces. Bow slings and fantastic sounds of horns and drums in battle. Voice acting is fantastic aswell.
    Art Design 2/2
For the time this game was fantastic. Blood splatters after battle, plenty of diverse locations and they nail the medieval landscape and battlefields.

For those who like a good story, and aren't afraid to do a lot of reading, the payout of this game is huge. Over 100 hours of game play. With so many play throughs. 9.5/10

Although its a mediocre game it shows why bioware was once the best rpg maker. You can see that old bioware here and there. The story is great, The characters are well fleshed out and you actually care about them, all of them have their personal stories and the main story itself is gripping with many twists here and there. In this game you actions have consequences.

The only absolute crap part is the moral grey area which many rpgs try to incorporate in their games and fail miserably, this game is no exception.

That said the game has quite a few flaws but they dont ruin totally the whole game experience(eg the journal that dosent say where you must go among other things).

Tldr if you find this game for 20 bucks get it,great story but a game with many flaws.

This being said, just pick your favourite class, choose a background and go kill some darkspawns, making the plot evolve in the way you are most comfy through lots of different dialogue lines that can change the route you are traveling.

Very interesting system of abilities and skills.
    ...
But on the other hand, the game has some very bad qualities: It’s just disgusting physics of damage (you can run away from the enemy’s kick to the other end of the corridor, but if he starts to bring a sword over his head, you will get that damn damage from him). It is disgusting and very enraging when you are obliged to take damage stupidly because of the curvature of the game... This game is a bum. It doesn’t matter whom you killed, a boss, a super-boss, an important character, or opened a super secret chest - there will be a couple of coins and some trash. The entire game, except for the add-ons, infuriated the extremely meager loot of the game. You can even walk around with some ultra puzzle(go on one rnd of location do something -> go to another end of location -> go...) and in the end of that quest recieve just one damn ring with useless one characteristicks. What?!
But most of all... the most disgusting for me was the bug in the "Awakening" when all the things of my main character were gone. Just gone! After so many years, when there are so many text about so many bugs, and some severe bugs, they didn't fix it at all, but gave more new games. WTF?

For many of people, that game is a Baldur's Gate game, an Elder Scrolls game, or a The Witcher game. For me, that game is Dragon Age: Origins.

This game is the best RPG game I've ever played. Not because it has some deep combat mechanics or something, but because this game had a soul.

Today, even newer Assassin's Creed games are considered as "RPG." But they're not. This is what a true RPG is. Every choice you make somehow affects the world. You feel like you can change everything in the game. It's been 11 years since the game released, but people still discover new things about it.

    Story

Story is a simple story that you can expect from a BioWare game. You're the last person of a faction called Grey Wardens, heroes that sacrifice themselves against the greater evil. You need to stop the darkspawn that wants to conquer the Ferelden, and eventually, the whole world. There's nothing special about the story. Except, it feels special. There are many divided storylines throughout the game and every one of them is perfectly written. Not just they're perfectly written, you can change every aspect of that storylines. You ever played a RPG game and said "Hey, my character would say xxx, why there are no dialogue options for that?" Well, you won't say that in Dragon Age: Origins. You didn't like the quest that involves you to kill some werewolves? Go side with werewolves and kill the quest givers. You don't want to kill either side? Make them make peace with each other. Or just go and kill werewolves. Game offers every option for you.

    Characters

This is, I think, the strongest aspect of the Dragon Age: Origins. You venture many adventures with couple of companions of your choice. There are 8 (+1 secret companion) possible companions in the base game, (in which, you can romance with four of them) and they're all unique characters. They all have perfectly written backstories with personal companion quests. You can talk many things with them. Not some boring dialogues like many other RPG's has, they're really well-written and you wish to talk to them more. You feel bad when they're upset. You feel good when they're happy. You give them gifts to make them happy. They really became your family.

    Gameplay

If you're into real time combat games like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale or Planescape: Torment, you will like the gameplay of this game. There's a deep tactical screen that allow you to make many tactics for you and your companions. This game is very hard, (even on the easy difficulty) if you don't play smartly. You must think wisely to choose from many classes and specializations to create a synergistic team. And it is so satisfying when you see the tactics you spend so many time to prepare perform perfectly.

Only negative thing about the gameplay is probably the variety of enemy types. Halfway in the game, you see nearly all the enemy types, and you fight with them rest of the game.

    Setting

Dragon Age takes place in a dark, gloomy, grim, high-fantasy world. I know I've used the words "well-written" or "perfectly-written" so much, but there're no other words to describe this beautiful setting. You can easily tell that developers are building this world for many years to make one of the most detailed lore of video game history. Pages of codex, lore, history... You're not obligatory to read them as the game tells everything in dialogues, but they sure does add a flavor to game.

    Soundtrack

There's nothing to say about it. Inon Zur is always killing it. Still listening the OST, even to this day.

Overall, as the BioWare says, this is the perfect successor of the Baldur's Gate series. 10/10.

One of the RPG-s closest to my heart. Some of the best companions ever-seen like Alistair or Zevran. Some good-quality jokes. Only thing that separates this game from score 10 is sometimes a lot of enemies in the end-game when combat can become repetitive. Still a game with legends status.

So be prepared to be dissapointed when you go play other games after you played this gem.

    Bugs I had (vanilla version):
-Got a cut-scene starting where it shouldn't have. Opened a door, cut-scene at a place where I wasn't near of, battle, I lost, quickload, opened the same door, no cut-scene I'm in a different room. (the cut-scene was supposed to happen like 5 min later)
-MANY crashes, especially in Denerim, I eventually found a trick which was to first load a game where i wasn't in denerim (at the camp for example), then to load my latest saved game. If i tried to directly load a game at denerim it crashed 90% of the time.
-got dialogue issues where the wrong lines were played (wasn't playing the english version, could only concern the french version.)
    -enemy stuck in the stairs
-my character stuck in the last step of stairs (have to zoom in and out to unlock her)
-during my final duel with Loghain Mac Tir, I realised that I just had to summon an animal and turn invisible and to win the fight: Loghain would not defend himself again the animal and has no way to found you once hidden.
-many visual issues, people without bodies or with ever-changing clothes. Weird changing colors.

French voice acting was mostly ok (except for children's voice which were terrible). The French voice for Oghren was EXCELLENT.

Still loved the game. I feel like someone asked me to drive a Lamborghini, but the engine doesn't start 1/5 times, the heat-seat is on MELTING-ASS mod during summer and windows won't close during winter, and the speakers only play justin bieber all the time at full-volume ... so yeah, the car is great, it can go fast, sounds good, but the experience you get out of it is not so great.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

I felt connected to the world and characters and took time to read every bit of lore and hear every story that I could. It had a very familiar approach to its world compared to many other western RPG’s but it’s very unique at the same time.

The combat is also very fun in my opinion, though it’s not for everyone. I love strategy games and love the strategic approach this game has to combat. The only major complain I have in that area are the bosses. They are usually not harder they just take longer to kill, which is not much of a challenge, just time consuming.

This game also offers a lot of content. There is a lot of quests to do and due to the fact that you make choices throughout the game it also offers a great deal of replayability.

It simply put is a fun and interesting world with a great story and a lot of good content. An amazing game in my opinion!

I beat this game over six times, and still managed to find a line or interesting thing I missed on each previous playthrough. Highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys rpgs. It's not as good as Baldur's Gate 1 or 2, but it's a great example of how Bioware used to be a good company pre-DA2.

Very high on comedy, the writing does have its serious moments - though they are far between one another. Pretty much every party member adds something to the group, even the DLC one. There are no boring main characters in this game. It has a cohesive if somewhat generic fantasy plot, but being generic is fine because it's so excellently well written, with very good background supporting lore - though you have to dig to find it.

This is one of those games that helped define the "choices matter" RPG genre. Don't miss out on it.

And how about the story? In one word, mediocre. The main story is the usual in Bioware games. An ancient evil is coming to destroy de world.. go and recruit your army. Exactly the same as in Mass Effect. And as also usual in Bioware games, side stories are plagiarism from here and there. Take this from King Arthur, take that from Joan of Arc, etc.. exactly the same that they later did in Mass Effect, taking things from Ender´s game, Battlestar Galactica, etc. I wonder how they have managed to avoid lawsuits.
In short, this game is like it has been developed by three teenagers in a couple of weekends. Technically very poor, mediocre story full of cliches, and a combat system that forces you to micromanage because the AI is retarded. Can´t recommend this one to anyone.

Perhaps it's the world of Thedas itself that we are presented with, but it seems to do so even better than the aforementioned. The music is both brazen and hauntingly beautiful. The graphics have oddly yet pleasantly gone from looking outdated to looking more like an intended art style. Textures can be downright awful at times, however.

It's rare a game can reduce me to literal tears, but the closing hours of Dragon Age: Origins did exactly that. I'd happily continue to compliment this game until I max out the character count, but what I will conclude with is this; if you want to jump into a world that fills so with childlike wonder, makes you laugh and cry and gives you nail biting choices to make; this masterpiece is for you.

This is a correct rating, as this game plays in the tradition of the Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights series. It includes all features expected in an RPG of this sort, most notably in terms of gameplay.
    BUY IT. BUY THE EXPANSIONS.
DO NOT BUY ITS DISGRACEFUL SEQUEL that managed to humiliate Bioware, alienate the fan base of RPG games and ultimately destroy the best thing in RPGs since Baldur's Gate II.
There is one lesson to be learned from the Dragon Age game series: If there is a fan base, there is something that people love. If people love something, sell it to them. Do not try to make it common, so that more people will buy it. Not everything needs to be sold to everyone.
You can destroy customer satisfaction, as long as you do not destroy customer loyalty: everyone would settle with a DA2 that would be very similar, if not identical with the first, as long as it gave to people those things that made them loyal to the franchise and the legacy it represents.
Change these things, and you lose your customers' loyalty. It no longer matters if your end product is good or bad, because it has become IRRELEVANT.

To me this game was the complete and utter opposite instant interest day 1 and deep love by day 2 and it never dropped of top10 greatest game list after done its just wonderful.

Played baldurs gate and felt ever since that there just wasnt a equal, to me this is better.
You have a tactical combat thats challenging, you have interesting character builds, and your companions are likely the stars of the show you never thought would be relevant.
The world building is also slightly fresh, its epic fantasy with evil is on the rise and save the world but the humans are kinda grey and plenty of selfish people just trying to make a buck or summon a demon to get better luck while gambling kind of world.

You start off with your main character then can find and recruit a large number of characters and these are most consider the stars of this game.
Most other games these are never really fleshed out they are just mechanically needed to make the combat more complex, your companions are interesting riddles you can plumb and you get small bonuses for doing so didnt think it sounded at all interesting when i read about it but it actually changed the game for better and its to large extent optional you can ignore several if they arnt interesting to you.

I had to restart several fights due to poor AI. There are ways to automate your NPC allies but they often end up getting into trouble, so many times it is best to micromanage them by pausing and giving individual commands. It is frustrating and requires adjusting how you play.

There are several bugs. One bug is on a spell intended to deplete enemy mages' mana. However, it actually replenishes their mana, essentially making the spell worthless. There are a few quest bugs which may force you to reload a previous save or find a solution online.

Awakenings is the best DLC, others are just okay.

Bought ultimate edition (includes all DLC) for $7.50, played 114 hours, great replay value.

A fine example of what a GOOD fantasy RPG looks like (coughs in The Witcher's general direction) Granted some of it's visuals are a bit dated (natural terrain is a bit funky looking, the head pieces are abhorrent and Light/Medium armor classes share the same one model for chest, feet and hand armor) I feel like it works for it.

Gameplay wise, it feels vaguely like an MMO with an action bar of abilities you can use or toggle in some cases, with three different areas to invest in; Attributes (Strength, Dexterity, Charisma, et cetera) which govern your stats, Skills (things like the ability to coerce/persuade people, herbalism) that you can sink 1 point into every 3 levels (2 if you're a rogue) and Abilites which is analogous to the Talent Trees from other games. Special mention to the ability trees, too. They're so heinously varied you can have one of your mages spitting fire and healing one minute, and turned into a giant **** spider the next to maul enemies with. The soundtrack is also stellar, and perfectly fits the game and the world you're in. Make sure you recruit Leliana and listen to her sing near the end of the game, you will not regret it.

The biggest issue I take with it is it's very slow and sometimes clunky, and it's also a little too indepth for me, with the fact that your attribute allocation (and skills in some cases) determine what abilities you can learn down the road with no opportunity to respec without install mods, reminding very heavily of the older breed of RPG that I never cared for (Neverwinter Nights, that sort of thing)

It also holds the very rare achievement of actually making me care about the characters and what happens in the world.

Ultimately, play it if you haven't. If you have, it's probably time to play it again.

This game is Bioware at its finest. The characters were fantastic. They were complex and very intriguing and I absolutely loved the dialogue. So many games limit when you are able to talk to to your companions and I love that you are able to talk to your party members whenever you would like even if your dialogue options have mostly already been explored. The banter between party members was also immensely enjoyable and really add to the experience and help you immerse yourself into your character. Companion quests are probably my favourite thing to have in a role playing game and Dragon Age Origins companion quests were very enjoyable. Also the romance in this game was handled better than any role playing game I have ever played except maybe the Witcher 3 although I personally preferred the Dragon Age Origins romance.
The story was a little cliche and bland at times, but I don't always consider this to be a significant issue, especially in such a large RPG like Dragon Age Origins where an excessively complex and convoluted storyline may confuse players, and detract from the role playing experience. I absolutely adore the origin quests, where you are able to play out the origins of your character and give your character a unique backstory that you are able to experience firsthand. Also, how your character interacts with both your party members and when you return to your place of origin as a result of what race you choose to be really adds incredible value to the game. The final battle was incredible for me. Not only did the stakes feel high, but that was reinforced by the large scale of it and you really feel that what you are doing is important which is something which many modern roleplaying games fail to grasp.
The combat was also immensely enjoyable for me. I love the tactical and strategic aspect to the fighting although it did get a little repetitive, especially if you are planning to do multiple play throughs.
The gothic atmosphere accompanied by the gorgeous soundtrack also make this game an incredible experience. The music in this game is really underappreciated in my opinion, as the melancholic sound is hauntingly beautiful and really sets the mood of the game
Overall, this is probably my favourite game I have ever played. This game really feels like an RPG thanks in no small part because of the amazing characterisation.

This is one of the best RPGs ever made! I don't even know where to start, the story, the gameplay, the character progression, the dialogue, it's brilliant! I've spent hundreds of hours into the game and i will probably play through it many times. It has great replay value and while the game has it's small flaws, it is still so good that you will barely notice them. 10/10 a must play!

The tactical gameplay is very fun, the player is at the center of the story line and the many dialogues make you actually care about the other characters and NPCs. There are several important choices that significantly change the story line. I am curious to know what's Bioware's canon for this game. Last but not least, this Ultimate Edition has all the DLCs and I really enjoyed most of them (Awakening is a respectable +20 hours campaign).

I will definitely miss the epic tale of my Grey Warden but I am also looking forward to discover the story of Hawke and the Inquisitor (DA2 & 3)! I wish they were available on Steam, but hey, you can't have everything, haha!

    .
+ Multiple dialogue options and unvoiced. Makes it more tailored to you.

+ Companions are far better than the most of the ones in the sequels. Even Leliana and Wynne, who are the most boring companions in-game.

+++ Best companions are Loghain and Sten. Mary Kirby did a great job.

+ Romances do not feel forced or are written for fanservice.

+ Some of the choices in the game are great and often overlooked. Choices like fail to save Irving , double crossing Bhelen, or personally killing Jowan are special ESPECIALLY if they're related to your origin.

+Combat is good. Not the most fun or the best (D:OS takes that), but it’s better than its sequels.

+ With mods, the characters you can still make characters look better than in Inquisition.

+ Music is great. There is a certain magic to it, that is enhanced by certain moments in the campaign.

+ Just a really amazing finale that grabs you, yet is different, each time you play it.

    CONS

-Almost every plot revolves around blood magic. Always.

    - For some reason non-Warden companions don't get the taint.

    - Combat animations are SLOW. This however can be solved by casting haste.

    - There are still bugs that even mods don’t fix because they’re so niche that not many people experience them!
IE, if you personally executed Jowan, he will resurrect and receive a 2nd sentence once you’ve revived the arl.

-Art design is okay. Not my taste. Then again, DA:O was based on Baldur’s Gate. Use armor mods and ENBs if you’re nitpicky like me.

-Dungeons for some quests can get pretty long. Perhaps too long. But you do feel more triumphant at the end of the game.

Overall, still DA:O is a great modern RPG and very enjoyable. Witcher 2 and F:NV had better premises, but with the multiple origins, dialogue options you can choose that is really easy to forget that and enjoy it was a roleplaying experience.

It’s much like VTMB, in this regard, but with added companions as a plus.

PLAY as a Warden who doesn't make all the right choices and sometimes fails.. You will get a lot more out of your roleplaying experience and enjoy it more. Also be prepared to bring a lot of Kleenex.

A grade game, through and through.

If you play this game, go as slow as you possibly can, take your time, listen to all the dialogue and read all the codex. I recommend either the human noble origin or the human mage origin. If you play a mage, make sure you decide what fraternity ideals you think your mage should follow. Decide whether the character you role play believes in the maker or not

The music in this game comes from the heart, there are some moments where you'll just sit back, sip on some wine and just get immersed.

All in all, it is a good RPG-lite, with nice production values, that will satisfy you, but it is far away from a master piece. It signaled the downward spiral of Bioware after its acquisition from EA. True RPG experts knew when the played origins, that Bioware as we knew it was gone.

You can read about the biggest flaws in numerous other reviews. I'm not going to repeat. I just want to concentrate on a couple of them that are common in the genre. Flaws are supposed to disappear in later games, right ? Well, not according to the baboon who designed DAO and brought them to a higher level of frustrating stupidity.

Many games give you an ability to sneak. Most just pretend to give it to you, as they happily ignore it ever after. You know, you're invisible, but a cut-scene begins that makes you instantly visible, and generally at the worst possible spot. And it also gathers your strategically (or is it lazily?) disseminated party. So now you're a bit frustrated because the game ignores your manual efforts and/or your superior brain. Also, the narrative lost its edge somehow. These scenes happen when the game mechanics are not designed according to the story needs. Or the opposite. Actually... both. Anyway, one day, a good game will do this right.

Now a little example on how DAO handles this simple matter: So here I was, sneaking far ahead of my imposed companions, past many paralysed-looking orcs-with-another-name, careful not to miss any passage between all the invisible walls. Suddenly !... a flower. I mean, an interactive flower, you know, something I can finally touch without killing it. So I tend my hand to grab it... and suddenly !, but very suddenly this time, instantaneous-like, my unwanted companions are next to me, talking to me. They sneaked faster than I did. But not as well, since we are all visible and orcs nearby can see us. They are already charging.

Do you think this is not stupid enough ? Here's the punchline: only 2 of my 3 companions have teleported in order to dispel my cover with their powerful voodoo. The 3rd one is still where they left him, on the other side of 4 or 5 enemy patrols.

Believe it or not, it got so much worse in the next chapter that I gave up and uninstalled with a sneer towards the designers. Among niceties, you can't manipulate anything while in combat, you can't go back into sneak mode in an empty, locked room because there is an enemy in another locked room somewhere in a large radius around you, and so on.

Basically, DAO forces you into linear paths (disguised as exterior maps) and into killing everything as you progress. Not so surprising since the Gray Warden you work for is nothing but a cold blooded murderer after all, but I already hinted that this review wasn't going to dive into the failures of the writing.

The same goes if you regard games like Planescape: Torment, Fallout 2 and the Baldurs Gate-series among the best computer games ever made. Because this game is everything a person like you look for in a game, and so much more. Be aware though, Dragon Age: Origins is not a revolution of the genre, rather it is an evolution, where Bioware has refined everything that made them into a formula as close to perfection as possible. Without a doubt one of the strongest Game of the year-candidates so far this year and a game we will remember with warm feelings many years to come.
