My first review was really negative, that was 2 years ago. Recently I gave it another try and enjoyed it. Been playing 70 hours so far and will enjoy as many side quests, fights and views as possible before I finish the main quest.

Despite its problems at the launch day when it was unplayable for me, it turned out to be a very good game. I still don't like its combat mechanics and PC control scheme (forced me to play on a gamepad), but other than that, it is pretty solid. The story is good, so are the companions. Presentation is nice. I've spent about 150 hours playing, that clearly stands for something.

The UI is a mess. The tactical camera is useless and the keyboard and mouse controls are a complete nightmare. You could perfectly play DA:O and DA2 with keyboard and mouse. This is not a game "Made by PC gamers, for PC gamers" as it was advertised by Bioware in a PR video a month ago. This is a console port of the worst kind. Asked for a refund. I am not going to give any more money to Bioware until they fix this mess (If they ever fix it).

AND AFTER MANY PLAYTHROUGHS, i AM GOING TO EDIT MY REVIEW- drastically, this ended up being one of my favorite DA games.

The story is great, the companions are good, the pacing is good... and the DLC is very good too. Many good hours of play to be had with this game.

Take your time enjoy the ride, this game has great replay ability, because you are not going to do everything that first or even second time through- 6 times for me, almost 1000 hours= muy bueno!!!

Oh, and go to nexus mods and get a few mods that greatly improve the game- specifically the looting/ gathering animation mod- a must have.

I played the game for 8 hours and asked for a refund. My expectations weren't high since I've stopped believing in Bioware after Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2. But dammit, my anxiety made me pre-order the freaking game, it had some nice preview-reviews from the critics I like, so I went for it.

It started nicely, loved the graphics and voice acting, the intro story wasn't well told but whatever, let's keep going. After 3 or 4 hours the game turned into Assassins Creed 1. Super repetitive. Close the demon gates, button mash the bandits with my fighter, collect items scattered in the map, and, for the other 4 hours, no interesting cutscenes or dialogs. It is filled with those kind of collect 50 stones, skulls or whatever scattered all along the map missions just to say: Hey, you have more than 250 hours of playtime. F that man.

And the camera... What a mess... Such a bad port... I don't know if it is better for the consoles, but it completely ruins the action and even the map exploration.

I should learn to wait for user reviews and never, ever, ever pre-order again. I just don't know why the media is giving so many positive reviews.

I can't believe all the bad reviews. Yes this version of DA series may have a few flaws but the game is absolutely worth buying and playing especially if it is on sale. If you don't have a good enough PC you will feel the pain. How can you lose if Origin offers a money back guarantee, unheard of in this industry. I highly recommend it.

Pros: deeper story, larger world, far more variety in locales and side quests, deeper and more interesting companions, in short everything is better.

Cons: not many... still a couple of minor glitches in the user interface. On my system (a notebook) to keep it reliable I must run in low graphics mode or sometimes the dialog wheel doesn't show, it won't run in full screen mode reliably but windowed is just fine, sometimes slow to get going when changing locations on the map.

    Gets a 10 from me.

GAME PLAY: 7 (I didn't think it was possible to make the combat any worse then DA: Origins but its pretty bad when you need to full stop your warrior to swing a sword, the tactical is also more for console then PC)
STORY: 10 (If the player allows themselves to relax enough the game is actually very strong with it's story it can be easily drowned out by the large amount of side quests that are more so for filler then enabling the story along. The followers of the game once again are fleshed out as to be expected from anyone that has played DA:Origins, unfortunately some players may be quick to judge the game is long and does not show all of its cards at once, patience is needed.
Graphics 9 (very detailed, and immersive exactly what you would expect from a Bioware game, however some SLI stuttering has been found with my GTX 970s not exactly game breaking this game does seem to require a bit of resources if you want to play on ultra).
OVERALL (8) I wish I could give this a 10 in contrast to their last edition that was horrifically rushed to cash in on the success of Origins, but the combat is unpolished to say the least though if you are a true RPG fan it really shouldn't matter imo.

12 Hours in, I feel this game is the best Dragon Age yet. The controls are sometimes clunky, and I notice the odd software fault, but in general this game is deserving of a good review as these things will be ironed out soon enough.

In my opinion, this is the best RPG in the modern gaming world. Excellent work, Bioware. Under the glorious enlightenment and guidance from EA, a game publisher with precise long-term vision in future game development, Bioware finally manages to make a RPG suitable for everyone, but not just a game accessible only to a minority of hardcore RPG players.

DA: Origins is an old-school and medicore game only appealing to a tiny market niche. DA II breaks the medicority, and introduces the popular mass effect decision tree and button-mashing mechanics, which attracts tons of Call Of Duty (COD) and action gamers around the world, contributing to its great success. However, it still suffers from a linear and small game world, and repetitive dungeons.

DA: Inquisition evolves from its predecessors by combining the best elements of 2 popular RPGs in modern era. It adopts the sandbox open world, lightweight RPG perspective and enormous fetch quest system from the highly praised Elder Scroll Skyrim, as well as the popular decision tree mechanism and the combat elements from another Bioware's master piece, Mass Effects 3.

By having a cohesive reasonance of 2 best elements from 2 outstanding RPGs, and adding tons of creative elements, this game simply becomes one larger than the sum of all parts. You have a large world to explore, tons of item collection and FedEx quests to play with, and the best button mashing mechanics to finish off your opponents. Skyrim and this game is great because they both remove the annoying character stat building mechanism. Stat is now only granted from equipment, how amazing and creative, isn't it? In addition, this game adopts the perfect RPG gaming style of Skyrim, i.e. explore first, just forget the plot, which removes player's frustration to recall memory about the main quest and story line. This is just like a great and sincere invitation to all COD fans and action gamers, as well as any potential causal gamers. It caters for the taste of all gamers around the world via greatly enhancing its accessibility. It is a master of everything rather than a jerk of all trade. This is a game for everyone!

You may worry about that the return of the old-school tactical view from the mediocre DA:Origins may ruin your fantastic game play experience. Don't worry about that, it is just implemented for those hardcore players for their happiness in pausing the game all the time, breaking the pace of combat. This game can be handled easily by controlling your own character only under an action game style. The tactics setting of companion is simplified to an user friendly level for further accessibility. In contrast to DA: Origins, you can’t set up some complicated tactics for your companions, but this is unnecessary anyway. Friendly fire is disabled by default, so just forget your companions, and let them either fight or fall. You can handle fights easily by charging upfront and having high reflex in right timing of attack, dodge and button mashing. You can enjoy a fluid flow of combat all the time!

Overall, by removing the complexity and annoyance from old-school RPG, adding the best elements from 2 most famous modern RPGs, and introducing an exciting button mashing combat mechanics to the game, this game has reached the highest height of RPGs that none in the world could ever reach. This is a milestone of RPG development, and should be referred to in future development of RPGs. Today is an important day that marks the beginning of revolution in RPG history! A new era of RPG has come! From now on, we can step forwards and forget about all classic RPGs in the old-school days. Everyone, express your praise and gratitude towards our beloved developers, and join us to have fun in this master piece of art now!

In case if there are expansions or sequels for this gift from god, which are highly probable considering how successful this game is, we really hope that first-person shooting mode, QTEs and the mechanism of climbing tower to reveal map can be implemented. This will further induces passion from every gamers, because these elements are universally regarded by every gamer as the best features that have ever existed in shooter and action games!

By the way, I am looking forwards to see at least 1000 DLCs for this game, because its scope is so huge, and with so much potential to further expand on. Don't keep us waiting, our wallets are ready! We hope that our beloved developers will listen to our suggestion and request, and release the DLCs and expansions ASAP for us. ;)

Is it an other Dragon age II ? Thank fully no... It's better in everyway. You're not stuck in one specific city with day and night cycles, the game opens up very well and invites you to explore (Though you will need a couple of hours to get to that point). Characters and story are also strongly improved so far (i haven't finished it yet).

It has a few bugs there and there but nothing game breaking and they are very far few in between.

So far my only real complaint is the combat system. It's not that it's badly done, but it's unoriginal and not that exciting. I guess we can blame consoles for this one as Origins didn't work well on them because tatical games don't work well on console plateforms, so they chose to make this button mashing slam fest to appeal to the console audiance.

It's a shame, because the combat system in origin was really special. This one is just boring and generic.

Note : Don't pay attention to the meta score, many Zeros are from trolls who haven't really played the game or idiots who expected Skyrim.

It is no wonder that most developers neglect the PC Community since they are always complaining about the most ridiculous things.

"Meee the game looks great, has a good gameplay but it has no deep story. Mee, good story, but the graphics are sooo 2002. Meee, everything is cool but it is not the same as it was with Baldur's Gate 2, so i do not like the game. Mee, I hated Skyrim because of its story but slightly enjoyed the sandbox features, however just for the sake of complaining I must admit that I hate the sandbox features of DA:I while the story is fine."

I can sincerely recommend DA:I to anybody who likes good, long RPGs with a lot of content and a very impressive presentation. However, anybody who still lives in the memories of BG 2, Kotor, Wasteland or Planescape Torment (best story in any interactive medium) just stay away from computer games made by established game developers. Bioware, Blizzard etc. will never be able to fulfill your expectations because you want the same experience you had years ago just in a completely different way which however has somehow to be the exact same... hopefully you see that the contradiction lies within yourself and not the game. Just scroll through the user reviews and notice how many people expected DA:I to be BG2 or DA:O all over again, yet of course in a different way...

Too many people are butthurt about it not being EXACTLY like DA:O. But back when DA:O came out, a lot of people liked it but hated the combat, now that its been changed in DA:I and DA:2, everyone complains, wanting DA:O back.

The game is actually pretty good, albeit some of the controls are a little bizarre, it does play really well actually. Im only running a Intel i5-2500K and 4GB of RAM and it runs really well on everything HIGH. I'd say give it a chance. Dont let all the reviews comparing DA:I to DA:O deter you from trying it out. It is a great game so far.

Dragon Age Inquisition takes the greatest aspects of a classic Bioware RPG and combines them with stunning visuals and an exploration system that is one of the best to date. Take all this and add a deep, emotional Bioware style story, and you have one of the best RPG's to date.

I have a lot to play yet to consider a real score, but here we go:

Is not a port, but it was clearly developed focusing on console when you look at the PC controls, it does not feel like previous Dragon Ages regarding that matter, but due to the strong marketing campaigns I believe we'll see a patch really soon addressing all the issues. Few expected bugs as any launch date, but

Few expected bugs as any launch date, but graphics are amazing and game is fluid even on ultra, the environmental graphics are stunning, really congratulations on Bioware in this category.

About the story, I'll come back in the future, with not spoilers, but is cool to see your choices well reflected in any conversation I had so far

Is clear that they are trying to give Dragon Age an MMO open worldish feeling, maybe for the next sequels.... but too soon to afirm anything, but on Dragon Age wiki, Inquisition was already expected to be only multiplayer

There is ....a lot of retarded "reviews" here that gave 0-3, that really puzzles me alot and amuses me too.

This is hands down one of the best RPGs, better than DA1 and 2, but people are complaining for 3 main reasons: 1) its not better than DA1...really?! 2) they cant play it, hence the 0...dude just refund, dont slam games cos u cant handle it..and give it a 0?! it means nothing...

    3) they say graphics is worse than 10 years back...honestly? I think there's a **** load of trolls here...the graphics has got to be one of the best, if not best RPG graphics better...of course, if you can handle ULTRA...hehe

So I just come in here to offset the **** score...by giving it a 10...I actually wanted to give it a 8, because there's some stuff to improve, but seeing the 0s -3s...really make me LOL...

Dont hate the industry, dont hate the specs, blame it on yourself if you aint got the TECH and SPECS to support it , because you will be a Believer when you have one...:D

    FOR ANDRASTE~ ahem, For GOD!

Despite numerous shortcomings, the new BioWare project is undoubtedly worth your attention. One of the best RPGs of 2014.
