I agree with the guy that said that you should buy pillars of eternity before you wish to try this DLC.Even though it's OK ,It feels like more of the same thing and doesn't add anything new to the table. If you want to buy it I would recommend that you'll wait a while until it is cheaper or part of a bigger deal...

This is everything a paid DLC should NOT be. What it offers us is one new zone, that is really no more interesting than the zones currently in the game. In the past BioWare DLCs and expansions have had *higher* quality maps, a tighter story, more character interaction, and so on than the originally packaged game. Jaws of Hakkon was more like, hey, you threw down $60 for this game that you've already burned through, why not throw down another $15 to keep playing a few more hours? The most depressing thing to me is that if BioWare can sell this junk for as much as they've ever charged for DLC, can we really expect them to make a real story-centered expansion later? Expand

Save your money and buy Pillars of Eternity instead or wait for The Witcher 3. DAI and this DLC are both overhyped glitter with no substance. EA really have their teeth in BioWare and this is a frightening example.

ill keep this short. This DLC should have been 8$ TOPS. This is not worth 15$. More of the same (a good thing) boring story line. But for me this score could easily be a 8 or 9 if the price was dropped.

Now that I've played DAI three times, I have come to really appreciate the environment and the challenges, as well as learned how to save myself and my allies by crafting much better armor and weapons than you'll ever find in the regular game. So of course, I immediately downloaded Jaws of Hakkon. Yes, it could have had a bit more interesting topic. And yes, it's very similar to DAI. But it had enough different "things" (like a new Avvar culture, new animals for crafting, etc) to make it interesting enough. Definitely could have been longer. The DLCs for DA Origins and DA II had much more background story and were worthwhile add-ons. I can see why some folks may have expected more out of Jaws of Hakkon, but I believe it's worth it if you like the series. Expand

Best way I can sum up Jaws of Hakkon is that it's more Dragon Age: Inquisition. And whether that is a good thing or a bad thing depends on how you felt about the base game.

It's a fairly solid DLC, for what it's worth, with a good amount of content and a new location, along with new items and crafting plans. It's an end-game DLC, with the recommended level for it being about level 20,

It's an end-game DLC, with the recommended level for it being about level 20, at least in the save I loaded it in. Doesn't push the boundaries much, but it sets a good tone for the DLC for Inquisiton, and one can only hope future DLC is even better.

EA hogging down Bioware thinks obviously RPG = Riddle (enemies with arrows etc) Play game. Where did the roleplay go in these games ? Mostly material grinding and senseless killing of hordes of enemies. With the usual bad battle engine. (Ok I agree I had to expect the same fighting engine, point is I expected more roleplay. So the bad battle engine really stabs you in the back here. MoreEA hogging down Bioware thinks obviously RPG = Riddle (enemies with arrows etc) Play game. Where did the roleplay go in these games ? Too short for the price, not much roleplay, new crafting materials (for what ? there is hardly anything left to kill when I get those for better weapons). Only highlight, new creatures, so I give a bit more than a zero for that one. Expand

Thoroughly enjoyed this add on DLC. For 15$ I was able to get 6 hours of trekking through new terrain, interacting with the Avvar, and catching up with scout Harding. While nothing really new in the way of a overall story arc, and it feels to me this was left out at the time of shipping and then added on as a DLC later is a little annoying, but as the first add on adventure it's a worth while buy

Any DLC that let's me hang out with Scout Harding is well worth it. I got 15 hours off of my first time playing JoH, and since I have several dozen other characters I would say it was a good investment.

Jaws of Hakkon is essentially the addition of another hub to the main game. While a few new characters are introduced, the game couldn't make me care enough about them to warrant a huge emotional investment. By the end of the DLC, there isn't even a particularly satisfying conclusion. No final cutscene, no epic speech, just a greyed out quest line indicating that "yep, you've finished. Compared to the other hubs in the main game, the Frostback Basins is probably one of the more aesthetically pleasing ones, but as a DLC, the Jaws of Hakkon is somewhat underwhelming. It can be summed up as just another hub with it's own inclusive but tangential storyline.

The new map is obviously beautifully crafted and should be a feast for the eyes, but you can't enjoy it much as there's so little to do. In General, never DLC. Not worth not money, not time. One location, which is torn from the main game, one dragon (again), not an interesting storyline, again collecting fragments and constantly had to look for a path to go to the right place.

This is quite a large area. I needed about 8 hours for it. The nature and the lighting in this area are dreamy and beautiful.

There are some big bosses and the plot is "ok", maybe a bit lackluster. The companions talk more to each other which is good.

But all in all, the quests are better than in the main game but still a bit weak.

After all I had some fun.

For me it was the worst part of the DLC. Its nothing fresh and just gives you a new part of the world to explore with more of the same of the normal game. For me this was a little bit to less, but u can have fun with it.

After having spent over 80 hours with Inquisition I was tired of it and Jaws of Hakkon did absolutely nothing to reignite the flame. [06/2015, p.57]

It’s a good, fun, entertaining extra bit of Dragon Age Inquisition, and if that doesn’t excite you then, well, you don’t need it.

Jaws of Hakkon is a well-made addition to Dragon Age: Inquisitions. It provides a beautiful new location to explore, more loot to acquire and enemies to vanquish. But in the end, that’s it. There aren’t any truly meaningful additions here, no new gameplay elements or characters interactions. It is literally more of the same.
