    Downward is a good platform with parkour elements, featuring an imaginative art direction and some open-world ambitions. Albeit a bit rough on the edges, the gameplay is challenging, robust, and with some nice quirks that will surprise the player.

    Downward is not a perfect game, but its approach to the first-person action-platform environment works well and the graphics are great for a low budget production.

    Despite low budget Caracal Games managed to fulfill their ambitions to a significant degree. There are few decent games about parkour and Downward is a welcome addition to that niche. [10/2017, p.51]
