    I fear that a lot of people will give up on Double Dragon: Neon too early, either because it “isn’t real Double Dragon” or because of the “clunky controls.” I encourage you to stick with it, because Neon truly is one of the best games in the genre from any decade. It’s got humor, visual flair, excellent gameplay, and a brilliant soundtrack.

    It’s never serious and it never tries to modernize when it doesn’t need to, and that’s what makes Double Dragon Neon such an excellent example of a reborn classic.

    This is Double Dragon but done very, very tongue in cheek. It plays heavily on 80's nostalgia, but it doesn't rely on it to deliver a fun, side scrolling brawler.
    It also adds modern elements to the original formula like the ability to pick up skills and enhance stances, each with a pseudo 80's soundtrack to company it!

    You don't need to be an 80's kid to enjoy this, but it helps! A great way to scratch that itch for yesteryear awesomeness.    … Expand

    Best Beam em up in years until a game Called SHING came along. Both under rated games for not having super easy button mashy gam eplay.

This game play is a little slow and clunky at first, but it gets rewarding and fluid once you get the hang of the combat mechanics. If you wanna beat up girlfriend stealing jerks, a pun spouting space lich super villain, and even a helicopter that deliberately tries to chop you up with its propellers, you need to buy this game.… Expand

No, its not as sophisticated as many of todays AAA titles, but its not supposed to be and they've added some decent character progression to keep it interesting. If you liked the old arcade brawlers (double dragon, golden axe, ninja turtles, etc), Neon will bring back fond memories, and you won't even have to keep feeding it quarters.… Expand

So from that point of view, why would I want to see double dragon in 3d or completly changed from what I remember as a kid? The level design is awesome, the fighting is well balanced and it's a very fun local coop. I praise these guys for releasing a game that stays true to the original all while making a great transition into modern gaming. If you're looking for something different go play Killer is dead or something but don't bash this game for being what it is which is a true homage to the awesomeness of 80's arcade games.… Expand

Original coin-op games were not perfect, but they were - and still are - fun to play. Neon is not very fun and I'm pushing myself to squeeze the money I spent out of it to justify the purchase.
