    Dota 2 is an amazing game. You may have seen a lot of negative reviews as of late due to factors that don't have anything to do with the game play. Play the game for yourself and see. If it appeals to you, you will be hooked for years to come.

    There's 2 things about Dota 2 it's completely free and it's developed by VALVe. If that's not enough for you to try this game I don't know what is. The only thing that you have to spend in order to play this game is time. Plus it has way better graphics, great character customization and doesn't require any money to unlock heroes (which I find very frustrating in LoL). It is also more balanced imo. As for the community, well it's still a MOBA so don't expect too much, although it's not so bad… Expand

    I played a lot of Valve games before this one, and to be honest I played LoL before this and I didn't like it at all. I didn't even know this existed until its second year. And I must say I have gained more out of this game than any other. Compared to other games, this game has hours, months, and for many, years of play without losing value. It seems like a new game every time becauseI played a lot of Valve games before this one, and to be honest I played LoL before this and I didn't like it at all.     Firstly, its a free to play game created by one of the reputed developer company Valve.
    If you have ever played WC3 DotA on which this game is based, it has improved a lot and constantly evolving. Not only is it free to play, but also the purchasable content is strictly cosmetic.     Valve updates this game every week in order to balance it, hearing what the community has to say and changing the game accordingly. So if you do stick with this game and learn the basics, which will take more than a month of hard work, you'll be rewarded with one of the most in depth games I've ever played in my life, and also one of the best.     This's the best multiplayer game that i've ever seen. The balance of the heroes is great, maybe someone can think that some heroes (like Riki) are OP, but that's not, they think that because they doesn't know how to counter them (how can you fight against an invisible hero without wards or dust?).
    The matchmaking could be better, but it's still great, i was in team with a friend yesterday    This's the best multiplayer game that i've ever seen.     This is an amazing game that's a blast to play with friends. It's always challenging, and has a very high skill cap, so there's always room to learn and grow. It also has one of the best competitive scenes out there right now. The best feature by far is having one of the greatest minds in game design and balance at the helm, guiding the metagame to be fresh and fun.

The heroes are well balanced and the gameplay is rewarding when you do well and punishing when you screw up, team work as well as individual skill are a big aspects and a team without communication will lose every time.     for me Dota in general one of the greatest games ever, a genre it self & the gaming industry highest achievement, not because Dota success or because it stared a new genre, the reason is the cooperation of IceFrog the developer of DotA (one) & Valve, if you knew who is IceFrog & you probable know Valve you would guess the out come of this cooperation will be something great.

    Well, you want to know why DoTA best moba game ever?
    I can tell you a few reasons.
    1.tons of heroes to play, unique heroes, not like in league of legends. 2.awsm graphics, i can say best. maybe some1 like HoN, or LoL graphics more, but obviosly what dota 2 graphics is most techologic graphic in moba games. 3.Absolutely f2p, not like other games, i said it again.     Been playing this a LOT with a group of friends people seem to be hating due to Valve not constantly giving them stuff, you know like a completely free to play game Seems to be a lot of LOL lovers hating on DOTA LOL is a great game which I enjoy however you need to buy the heroes or you can play the free handful on the weekly cycle. A second point of hate seem to be the lack of a free Halloween event however we did get first blood which is a complete overhall of the characters items and creep to turn the game from DOTA with a updated graphics engine to a totally re-balanced game.

    Very addictive, and not pay to win. Valve had, instead of using the time to give diretide, improved the game very much. Haters hate the game due to the lack of diretide, but I personally think that the time had been spent correctly on improving the game.

    This game improved so much since it was released on the beta. There are over 90 heroes to choose from currently and the gamplay is as intence and as rewarding as DOTA 1. I know alot of people will be hesitant to try it at first but there has been a new tutorial system implemented in DOTA 2 and I think it will help new comers.     Completely free, access to every hero and you have a chance of finding items after every online match. Ignore the Diretide spammers, it was funny at first but has gone way too far, i mean dragging the user score this far down because of one event?     I have been playing this game since 2005 wc3 dota1 and then dota2 when i got the beta key. The idea of dota, could be probably the best interaction between players of any game, in the world. It's such an awsome ideea, that Valve took and brougt it to new hights. Once you ge used to the game, you just want to play more and more.     1. The matchmaking system is so and punishes players for playing the game. Players who have 1,000s of hours on the game will get matched with people who just started. And absoulutely no good player wants noobs on thier team.

    I was skeptical of the learning curve, though I had played league of legends, it turned out to be a far for rewarding experience than I had expected. I much prefer the seriour, no-nonsense attitude of most people you find in public games and I must say, the game looks beautiful. It is incredibly polished and there is such a sense of quality I've not found in an online game before.

    Dota 2 is one of the best games one can play, ever. Possible to get lost playing it for weeks and months on end. Learning curve is steep and that's what makes it fun.

    Great game, really well done. Valve did a small mistake recently but they fixed their problem and apologized.

    If you are a new player a wonder why the score is so low, pretty much a bunch of retards raided metacritic.
    I advice you give this game a try, it will be hard at first but it turns out to be in my opinion the best game of the genre.

The last user-submitted scores were pretty low due to missing updates from Valve, which they apologized for. Nevertheless is Dota2 really good and has a huge competitive scene.

    no other game is more enjoyable to learn and master than Dota2. while it is an incredibly difficult game to jump into, you feel extremely rewarded once you get the basic mechanics down, followed by advanced mechanics, and building up long term experience.

    This game is just awesome. I feel sorry for valve for having to put up with this community. Ok they didn't say anything about diretide so what? Spamming obama's facebook and getting metacritic score this low just because of that is just plain retarded.
    Anyone that actually wants a decent review don't take this user score serious.

    Awesome company. There was a lack of communication with diretide but they owned up to it, apologized and actually gave us diretide! Apart from this incident Valve is awesome!

    Played this game for over 7 years by now. Still love it. And Valve did an amazing job porting it to a modern engine.
    Awesome game, both in regards of being challening in individual skill but also team work.

    A remake of the original DOTA with better graphics and its own engine, DOTA2 is definitely the best game of its genre. It is incredibly focused on keeping the game balanced while still keeping it an incredible challenge. It's hard to get started at first, but once you get into it there's no escape from the fun of DOTA2.

    This is a game where there are 10 people playing at once, in a highly competitive environment. If you can't take the occasional flame or bad game, don't play simple as that, because you will have a bad time.

    BUT there is so much upside, especially if you can play with friends and be more coordinated.

    I can guarantee that a good 70% of these angry reviews are either by fan-boys of other games or by people who were upset at no Diretide this year. Dota 2 is the best strategy game of this generation.

    Dota2 is a very exciting, team based, rts-like and Rpg-like Game with the amazing attribute, that every match you play is different. The last user-submitted scores were pretty low due to missing updates from Valve, which they apologized for. Nevertheless is Dota2 really good and has a huge competitive scene.

    This game is terrible for new players, but stick through with it and you will fall in love. The bad reviews are all from angry fans after valve made a mistake, the critic score is what this really should be based off of.

    Though exceptionally hard to master, Dota 2 delivers a strangely balanced, highly competitive, endlessly entertaining multiplayer experience. Just make sure you have the patience, and time to learn.

    And this dichotomy is perhaps the best descriptor I can attach to Dota 2. It is frequently a game which occupies two opposite spaces simultaneously. It is the best game. It is also the worst game. No game has ever made me as miserable as Dota 2 has. But no game has made me feel so consistently rewarded for my time, and as consistently, wonderfully connected to the friends I play it with.
