    Never In my entire life have I witnessed a worse community revolving around a video-game than the one that is to be found in Dota 2. The players are: Egotistic, ego centric, unsporting, aggressive, hostile, uncaring, mean, mistrusting, immature, callous, apathetic and incredibly pretentious while at every loss prompting everyone inside the current game to "Report player X" if someone on their team was even remotely new to the game or did any other action not sanctified by them, be it going in what lane you want, not purchasing courier/wards or simply just had an unlucky run/getting cross-classed. Along with being completely miserable to be around, they frequently never speak the language in the region you're playing and nowhere else is this more apparent when russian is spammed into the chat at all times on European zones from 3 different sources at once. And if people do know English, trolling is nothing short but assured from all directions to all teams.

    Second biggest problem with this game would be the elitist mindset that orbits anyone that has played this atrocious game for more than a couple of hours. Any behavior that breaks the typical dota 2's hardcore player routine of buying tango, healing salve and iron branches, perhaps with some boots of speed if they're feeling adventurous will result in a wave of F-bombs, intentional feeding, votes of surrender, spam prompts to report player X and disconnecting users as far as the eye can see. I even had cases where players left the game because some guy forgot to buy a courier at the start of the game. And that's me overlooking the fact that killstealing off your TEAMMATES is considered average behavior/a common tactic. In LoL, you can even report people for "being unskilled". As in, anyone. Even if they're level 1.To put it bluntly, MOBA's like dota 2 give out a special kind of disgusting behavior that makes me feel physically ill for very good reasons.

    Coming close to problem number 2 is the third epic fail problem of this game. The match-making in Dota 2. Broken, poorly thought through and executed horribly. You are prompted to select a variety of regions before initiating the match-making system and the more regions you have selected, the less waiting time..

    Which begs the question, what is the point with the regional system if you're just gonna encourage people to sign up for all regions? The end result will be that nobody sticking to their geographical zones and not only causes frustration in the form of people trying to communicate and chat with eachother in the chat as described above but also disallows any kind of vocal text tactical communication since everyone does not speak the same language. In all honestly, this game is overloaded with issues just like this and I would be able to overlook this particular embarassing design-flop if it wasn't for the actual hard functionality of the MM as well being broken. The scenario on where 4-5 organized people in a group, all sitting in ventrilo/teamspeak while packing thousands of hours in Dota 2 each have a very likely possibility to be "teamed" up against new players with less than 10 hours with no complaints from the match-making system (even if there is a very large queue) throws out any chance of that. This happens particulary often if you decide to try the game out with a friend or two which leaves me with yet another question: The purpose of match-making was to find equally skilled opponents. So why is this even remotely possible? Team-based games with a mandatory MM are supposed to be fair. Not Tyrannosaurus rex VS a duckling. I'm reluctant to say that Dota 2 even has a match-making at all once you look at all the facts.    … Expand

    First of all, there is no balance at all in dota, some heroes are much more strong than others. Also I think this game has the most unfriendly community ever

    Wtf valve dosnt give a about its community. every update is just more hats. they don't even have to make the heroes considering there all ready in wc3. but they don't care enough to do that. just have everyday players make items then make money off that. If you don't care about your fans then give the game to someone else. ether that or hire someone who will do the work.

I bet they will add tons of new hats soon. I have never cared, but now... Gtfo with hats. AND. I have played dota 2 for more than 1050 hours it´s an awesome game.     The dota 2 is one of the moba i have ever played (based on ideea) and i think i played most of all, but volvo is a company starving for money, giving 0 f****s about the comunity. If you come new to dota 2 you will end with russians that will leave, feed, blame you, speak only russian (in english only search). The matchmaking is the worst possible, you get a decent match once in 2-3 days,The dota 2 is one of the moba i have ever played (based on ideea) and i think i played most of all, but volvo is a company starving for money, giving 0 f****s about the comunity. The matchmaking is the worst possible, you get a decent match once in 2-3 days, you can't do anything no mather how good you are, the winning team is that with less russians( even if they have their own server, you find them even in america's servers, BECAUSE F**k YOU, i have no other reason to provide for this) and most of all if you post soemthing on dev.dota.com that is not according to their own interes you get banned for ever and ever. ok have fun and go play league of lesbians(honestly you have many chances of ending up with players that have 1000 wins when you have 10~20 and ruin our games) noone teaches you anything.     Don't spend your money for Dota 2. It's a great game, but its not evolving and the developper will never communicate with the players for news. Don't spend your money on hats and others skins, you'll got only one new hero every 6 months. You'll get bored very fast. Its sad, cause it could have been an awsome game.

    Terrible report and matchmaking systems ever always playing with insulting players and leavers. No need to ban someone. Lets give mute or low priority for violating players and keep them in game. They will ruin game to other players again and again, but they could buy our hats! When you at loosing side from the start of the game prepare to play full match. Enemy team will rape you at base as long as they want, it is the most fun for 50% of dota players, so there is no need for them to finish the game a mnd you cannot end this hell, because there is no surrender system at all. Only the one thing you can do scream in chat "ff! ff pls".
    And I'm not talking about all bugs, useless updates to grab more money with custom items and etc read about this in reviews under this.    … Expand

    NO good awards for old players constant players (I have about 1.900 played hours but all my items if for my money I think valve must give us to the old players some award/incentive)
    NO Halloween event.
    NO new Hero.
    Ee spend lots of time and money in this game but valve don't do nothing in appreciation they just want win more and more of our money.

    The Valve of yesterday would bend over backwards to address any controversy and concerns, but the silence over this issue is deafening. Valve, el desarrollador ahora de dota 2 no presta atención al juego. Más solo para lucrar. Un juego que ya estaba hecho, ellos no hicieron absolutamente nada para incrementar la diversidad de este juego. Ni siquiera logran estar a la par del dota 1 luego de 3 años de su beta. Es el colmo con este juego. Si algo es mediocre. Es este juego sin atención de sus desarrolladores actuales. Lástima por el nombre "Dota" es un buen juego. pero esto ya es el colmo.     And this dichotomy is perhaps the best descriptor I can attach to Dota 2. It is frequently a game which occupies two opposite spaces simultaneously. It is the best game. It is also the worst game. No game has ever made me as miserable as Dota 2 has. But no game has made me feel so consistently rewarded for my time, and as consistently, wonderfully connected to the friends I play it with.
