A very fun relaxing game of building cities and landscapes. I don't know why but it's really addicting.

What an amazing game. The best word to describe it is soothing. The design is elegant and simple. It supports controller, but definitely play with the mouse. The music is relaxing and good.
I love it, I recommended it to friends so strangers should play too. You'll always want to beat your last score. LFG mah gee.

A pleasant, relaxing game, that is sometimes incredibly frustrating. In most games this would be inexcusable, but often times the frustration is the result of my own mistakes building up, and occasionally a bit of bad luck, rather than poor game design or clunky mechanics.

I hope this game continues to get updates and content post-release.

The game is really buggy when it comes to controls and there are a number of dumb design decisions that can ruin your game session.

I purchased 'Dorfromantik' quite blindly based on the visual impressions and the reviews from the early access. Sure - it is without question an eye-catcher. And the fact that you don't need 5 minutes to find your way around the game can undoubtedly be seen as a barrier-free advantage. Only then nothing more comes.
As a friend of strategy games like 'Risk' and 'Carcassonne', one tingles

As a friend of strategy games like 'Risk' and 'Carcassonne', one tingles in the fingers to explore and try out new strategies - which simply do not exist here. Move all tile types as far away from each other as possible and hope that Fortuna will help you with the order. That's it and... nothing else?
In addition, it is not playable via touchscreen, which is an unusual disadvantage in board and tile games, which affects a few, but in view of Steam Deck, Surface & Co. an increasing number of players.

If you played Townscaper and thought, "this looks too pretty and the camera isn't frustrating enough" then Dorfromantik is here to give you that lesser experience. It plays like this is its first week in Early Access, not its first week out as a full release.

A perfect game. Challenging, some randomness, but just enough to keep you engaged for hours.

There's just not very much to do, and what can be done is not very interesting or deep. It plays like a game that is more about looks than mechanics, but it looks like a game that is more about gameplay than visuals.

(I dislike it but it's not bad per say)

It's alright at first but it just doesn't have that something that makes me want to keep playing and got boring pretty fast, i do like games like this but this one just can't hold me.

Nice relaxing arcade-like experience with no real objective. I put a few hours into it but it's unfortunately really my type of game.

Dorfromantik is a very special game to me. It is beautiful, relaxing and easy to grasp, but offers much more strategic depth in it's puzzle mechanics than I had thought in the beginning. I play it to chill out and I wholeheartedly recommend it! I don't understand the negative reviewers...

In general, it's a good game, I played it for 3 hours. But sometimes it makes you feel pain

Relaaaaaaxing. An amazing game for relaxation. I really like it. At first I didn't like it very much, but over time I fell in love with it. I'm very glad I didn't return the money for it.

Dorfromantik is a gorgeous indie gem that presents its player with the tranquility of building a romantic German village. It is a truly relaxing experience, where its simplicity truly shines. Chasing that high score with its tile placement gameplay can be utter fun, even though it may not be for everyone, it is truly a masterful experience that presents much needed respite in these times.

Dorfromantik is a relaxing game that welcomes the player to a rural landscape. At the same time, it is an experience that allows the player to enjoy the fun and challenge of aiming for a high score as well. That means that the game can be enjoyed both as a relaxing break and as a serious undertaking, but never as something in between.

The solution to the game's own internal puzzle, then, is to slot something else into the gap, to connect those disparate edges. [Issue#372, p.114]
