Decent game, but definitely not very tactically deep, and certainly not very fun gameplay-wise. The gameplay itself boils down to mastering a room clearing technique, and once you figure this out, the game becomes very simple. Not much variety in the inventory, and frankly, once you unlock the Assault class, you have everything you need to beat the game outright. Not much variety in the inventory, and frankly, once you unlock the Assault class, you have everything you need to beat the game outright. The RPG elements that are introduced are very shallow and don't really differentiate your squad members. The various roles in the squad are pretty superfluous, and at later stages, Assault is the only really valuable role you can take. Cover system is very mediocre, with your troops more or less being a gun that you point with your mouse. No dynamic AI, no functional cover shooting. What you have is a game that consists of everything that made the old Rainbow Six games good, but without the same polish that made them fun. Fun diversion for a few hours, but not an 8/10 game. FRUSTRATING CONTROLS. It had some short-lived fun at early levels, rewarded you with smooth awesome replays by your own tactical thinking. But as difficulty rank up, you will soon realize the control interface is incapable of matching your mastermind. Units all stacked over one another in narrow corridor with queued plans all mixed up. But as difficulty rank up, you will soon realize the control interface is incapable of matching your mastermind. Units all stacked over one another in narrow corridor with queued plans all mixed up. Wait-for-command feature was cool at first glance but never timed nor properly executed (units will pop-up at different speed, charge in as flash bag thrown but yet exploded, cancel future commands accidentally). No overlay unit icons, easily lose track of units with different equipment. Cannot make fine adjustments with middle part of your plan. Inconsistent doors stealth opening or loud kicking despite being lock-picked. Clumsy floor changing movements... the list goes on. Why don't dev just borrow Frozen Synapse's UI? Expand

A competent, top-down, tactical RTS game where you get to plan and execute counter-terrorist operations. The game can be frustrating at times especially as you progress to more difficult levels later on, so long-term enjoyment of the game depends on whether you're a guru at tactics games or whether you're just really persistent.

A decent game, but nothing special. In a few hours just you gonna play something else.

Door Kickers is tactical combat-focused RTS. Approachable, challenging and fun. Sometimes absolutely infuriating due to RNG, unreasonably huge maps and controls, designed for a touchscreen.

Simply put, Door Kickers is a wonderful exercise in bloody minded fun that brings out the inner SWAT leader in all of us.

A very addictive and hugely enjoyable game with heaps of replayability thanks to the level generator and level builder.

A tactical gem that’s designed almost like a puzzle game. [March 2015]
