even more bad platforming, lazy levels, lazy "new" monsters, extremely lazy bosses.

While the locations are cool the design of the fights is nowhere near the base game. The only thing it seems to be able to do is just throw more of everything at you, including the kitchen sink. It seems like the devs perfectly understand what parts of doom eternal were not well received and emphasized on exactly that. I was able to finish doom eternal in nightmare but had to go down to east for some fights here.
All in all it's more frustrating than fun. And I'm really sorry to say that as the base game is my best game of the year.

Still ammo shortage + hassle to get ammo + a lot more area denials than Base game and Doom(2016), sucks.

It's like the devs took everything that made Doom Eternal kinda annoying and decided to take it to the next level, for a laugh.

You didn't like marauders? There's plenty here, with two at the same time. Platforming? How about more of this, with timing challenges to boot Plus more and more annoyances like more invisible demons, fog where you can't see anything, torrents and enemies you

Oh, and the arenas are smaller and clunkier, while the waves of enemies get larger and larger.

    Not my idea of fun.

For the record Doom 2016 and Eternal were GOTYs for me.
This one however is far from it. The only recipe its has is to artificially close you in the arena with some magic wall, and throw a tons of heavy enemy's at you.
That's it. That was already an issue in 2016 game, that they sorta fixed in Eternal - but here is more present then ever. Story is a joke even for a Doom game. Music is

Story is a joke even for a Doom game. Music is ok-ish, nothing outstanding. But the biggest issue is difficulty spikes and balancing. At time its just so hard at time its not fun anymore.
    Do not buy this dlc.

Bad game design all around. Lack of ammo and rhythm base combat doesn't always flow smoothly given the arenas that you are playing in. It would seem that the expansion could act as a right of the ship from the combat that was needed for so many fans with Doom Eternal or at the very least an occasional reprieve; they just doubled down. Just like Doom Eternal there is way too much emphasis on resource farming. You are expected to resource farming and there is little room for movement in some areas. You will get stuck on edges, get trapped in corners, coupled with the terrible hit detection make for a frustrating experience. Overall, it’s also a boring experience, same combat cycle over and over again. Same enemies over and over again. You will also not like if you would like story with enemies peppered in. It’s just arenas over and over again. Expand

It took everything "DOOM" Eternal made wrong and upped it to eleven.

The platforming is even more annyoing, the new enemies are even more bullet-sponges and the gunplay is even worse. The whole design is just lazy and frustrating. Almost nothing new, but more stupid demons who are so irritating to fight. Levels became more straight, story is so simple, such a failure after great original game. If you like doom eternal, don't play this, it will disappoint you. Devs are just bastards

It’s the same Doom Eternal we know and love, but the DLC managed to make it even more frenetic. The onslaught of demons is actually so intense that it can easily get overwhelming, especially if you haven’t played Doom for a while or never mastered it. It’s a shame the developers were quite skimpy with new content, so we only got three new enemies (of which one is not even worth mentioning), three new runes, and three new maps (huge and well-designed though). While it’s easy to nitpick, it’s even easier to rave about how great the rest of the The Ancient Gods is. I’m not sure this is the best place to jump into Doom Eternal given its initial difficulty, but picking up the whole package is absolutely recommended. The Ancient Gods consistently delivers some of the best combat ever seen, and delivers it in spades.

A solid expansion that will test even the hardest Doomguys around. It’s almost the same as the basic game, with one exception: It’s even harder. And, regretfully, the music isn’t as amazing as before.
