As it stands, DNF:Duel is not a fighter I will continue to play as it’s not the kind of experience I’m looking for in a fighting game. However, that is not to say that I don’t see the value in having a game where bombastic, overtuned characters do dumb things to each other as I don’t believe every fighter needs to be meticulously balanced and brutally deep to have a place in the FGC. All that really means is that I’ll just be watching instead of playing.

While DNF Duel’s MP system adds a new layer to the fighting game genre, this title plays things far too safe. Fans of Arc System Works’ other fighters will enjoy throwing down as wind wielders and puppet masters, but the studios’ other titles manage to do everything on offer here.

DNF Duel does nothing new. I don't understand why they wasted their lives making game. There's no reason to pick game over any other fighting game. It does the bare minimum not even bothering to dub the game into English. It plays like any other fighting game story mode is basic and lacks anything beside the basic game. It doesn't a difficulty setting. Which is super annoying. They AI is dumb but also has 2 frame reaction speeds. So they block most of your attacks. Then the boss shows up with his broken move set. If you don't have a fast reaction time I don't see how you can beat him. The Ai reacts to what you do quickly and all his attacks are fast and hit hard. Do not waste your money on this game. They just made a generic fighting game and didn't do it better than anyone else. Even small indie fighting games have more to offer than this waste of money. Full Review »
