The eerie sense that you played this game several years ago. Old engine, old graphics, different packaging.

It has a sense of immediacy typically missing from wargames. Unfortunately, this doesn't quite sustain what is otherwise a relatively limp adaptation of TalonSoft's wargaming engine.
-
While Divided Ground is still a faithful simulation, the engine is really starting to show its age. Moreover the nature of the conflict in the Middle East is weighed down with a few limitations that keep the game from being as exciting as "Eastern Front II" or "Rising Sun."
-
Ultimately, Divided Ground is brought down by broken campaigns, a wealth of bugs, poor play balancing, lackluster AI and lack of a decent, printed manual.
