The story seems a little too familiar but that's ok. the changes you can make are awesome, there are actions that make a huge diffrence that I didn't know that was even possible (youtube)

just for the record I have an 2560x1440 monitor with an i5-3570 @ stock and an rx 480. I get 35-40fps on maximum settings. I mean everything at max. I get 45-55 when I turn them slightly lower (no noticeable changes) I haven't tried minimum settings. take in mind that these are in WQHD not FHD. I assume you get 60fps with my card on 1080p

I played this through a couple of times when it first came out last fall. I went back to it last week and am in a fourth play through. Simply put, this game is brilliant - it's a game for the thinking gamer. Sophisticated, beautiful, great story with great writing. All games should be of this caliber. 'Nuff said.

One of the greatest "play-it-your-way" games I've encountered. The sense of freedom when completing missions is amazing. Truly great game! The first Dishonoured game was quite good but this one outshines it and most other games too!

Great game, horrible port. The game is gorgeus, with so many diffrent paths to complete the missions, and so many diffrent powers to unlock and combine, without mentioning that you can now play as Corvo or Emily. It also has two endings for each character. The only problem I see here is the port. The optimazation is nowhere to be found, performance is pretty bad even in high end pc's.

i loved dishonored 1 so this one is more of the same , typical revenge history, cartoony but nice graphics.Superb level design and Verticality. Improved stealth mechanics, a good game released in bad shape.

Dishonored 2 is a great game. Unfortunately had to play on lowest quality possible or would it would get buggy. That aside I was not disappointed although I feel the blood flies could have had a bigger role in the plot other than just a nuisance

    STORY
In the beginning, you're given the choice of playing as a grown-up Emily or reprising your role as Corvo. Your decision will vastly change the perspective of the story as well as the abilities available at your arsenal, as if two sides of a coin. You will not be able to make any contact with the other throughout the game.

The developers designed the game with the intent for you to play more than one run after completion, so that you can play as the other character or attempt different approaches to missions.

The script is a lot more concise and the story is a huge improvement. It is no longer vague and characters no longer speak about topics that are irrelevant to the mission at hand.

    GAMEPLAY
Dishonored 2 now plays like a true Hitman game, unlike the simplified one the first game was. It's entirely up to you whether you want to be a ghost or if you want to go in guns blazing.

I recommend trying out stealth to make the best of your experience, but if you want to rush through, you'll still get a thrill out of the combat because it is no longer as simple as the first game. The game will punish you for carelessness. I recommend playing on Hard difficulty.

For weapons, you use the classic sword/pistol/crossbow combo. There are many more upgrades now and money is even more scarce than before, so it is crucial for you to plan out what you want to buy.

As for powers, there are new ones introduced for Emily while Corvo mostly uses the same ones as before. Emily's powers are more focused on stealth than Corvo's. Unfortunately, some powers in this game are completely pointless, which is a shame.

The game introduces a Bone Charm crafting system where you recycle charms into new ones consisting of 2-4 modifiers and only taking up one slot each. Even though there's a chance of corrupting them, the corrupted modifiers are mostly laughable. For three extra Runes, you can use each modifier up to four times, which is even more broken.

There are new and improved enemies in this game and AI has been vastly improved. Even with the "wall hack" power fully upgraded, it's difficult to play.

    EXPLORATION
Maps are a lot more open-world than before and items are scattered throughout. If you only focus on the missions, you will miss out on plenty of exploration. If you only focus on special items, you will have a deficit of funding and will be limited on ammunition.

The Heart reprises its GPS tracker method of detection. All of the items are exposed on the map again. Many of them are located in stores or safes now, which require additional effort to acquire.

Sadly, there are a bit too many Runes in the game, making powers easy to obtain. Bone Charms are generated at random, which makes the search for them somewhat pointless once you're near the end of the game, since they might not have good modifiers. Unless you're planning to do another run, of course.

Like the first game, this one has nine missions and a central hub. If played quickly, it should last around 10 hours. If played stealthily, then easily at least 20-30 hours.

    UNIQUE LOCATIONS
There are two locations in this game that are unique: Stilton Manor and the Clockwork Mansion.

Without spoiling too much, the former introduces "on-demand" time travel gameplay. This is an interesting new system with lots of potential, but the developers only limited it to that map.

For the other location, it is essentially a dynamic labyrinth. It's incredibly fun to play and very challenging with the clockwork guards. It's difficult to acquire all of the special items on this map because half the time you're just trying to avoid getting killed.

    PERFORMANCE
A lot of reviewers here complained about poor optimization and gave low ratings because of that.

I too experienced sub-optimal FPS, but I managed to stabilize it at 40 average on 4K resolution at mostly-low with mid-range hardware, while streaming. If you fear that your system might not be able to play it, Steam offers a refund policy which offers you the chance to try it out.

    SUMMARY
Dishonored 2 is a huge improvement from its prequel. There is a lot more variety in combat and more freedom to plan out your approach. This is definitely a worthy successor to the original game and I highly recommend it even if you haven't played the prequel. You can hop straight to playing this game as the story isn't too reliant on the prequel.

Disregarding performance issues, I'm giving this game a generous 9/10 for being the sequel Dishonored fans wished for. It is well-balanced and challenging in every way. I would've preferred there to be a bit more money available on the maps to loot, but it's not a big deal.

A successor to the legendary Dishonored doesn't disappoint in any way. Arkane Studios was able to deliver a worthy sequel, that manages to hypnotize just like the previous game. It's a must play for anyone who loves stealth and action games. But don't forget to finish first part and it's dlcs before that. The game has lots of references to the previous part and its dlcs. Pickens approves!

I really appreciate that the game is non-linear and has a rich, believable world.
Dishonored 2 does away with many of the things I can't stand about AAA titles (or at least lets you turn them off in options menu)
i play with everything turned off, a clean interface without those abominable objective markers. There are so many directions you can go. So many nooks and crannies.

i play with everything turned off, a clean interface without those abominable objective markers.
There are so many directions you can go. So many nooks and crannies. Exploration is actually usually NOT rewarded, but it helps make the game immersive, like you're wandering in a big city or a big mansion and it isn't some arcade-y treasure hunt where the developers conveniently hide loot for you to find.
At best you'll find bonecharms which are decent, but not mandatory. The rest if what you find, should you choose to wander about and explore, is only really books and documents that help flesh out the lore and explain the politics of the game world. I read them all and never got bored -- because I was so INTO the game as I'm playing it.
In modern games I HATE hand-holding and linear gameplay. In Dishonored 2 I didn't have to deal with any of that.
The art direction, characters and writing is exqusiite.
All these positives add up to make a game that is very immersive, I am already sucked in after 5 minutes of playing.
Stealth is drastically harder than just going in and killing everything. You have plenty of gear like mines, grenades, special bolts to easily dispatch enemies. BUT the most effective thing about this game is that you truly feel guilty if you spill too much blood. Just something about it . I felt bad about killing enemies and doing things the messy way. Getting through an area cleanly and stealthily was more rewarding, without needing any artificial in-game rewards.
The sense of reward is the accomplishment of objectives -- the mark of a great game. And if you do it the dirty, bloody way, not so rewarding but you still got 'er done!
I love games that are versatile, non-linear and immersive and Dishonored 2 delivers on those three critical aspects.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, прекрасное дополнение уже окончательно разъясняющее весь сюжет игры, и шедеврально раскрывает вселенную сиквела.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played this game on a non-lethal/low chaos gamemode playing as Corvo (he seemed to be better for stealth than Emily).

This game is great! I'm happy to see that the witches are the main focus of this game as I thought they were really cool in Daud's story. I did think the story fell flat in a few places (once again, the ending feels rushed and the game just sort of... stops. Especially with the low chaos ending.)

I thought the level design in this game was much more interesting, but the game does feel a lot harder. This made me not really want to explore as much, given that it was a lot easier to get caught and die in this game. I did play this game on Very Hard, but there were certain levels that I wouldn't want to play even on Easy (mainly A Crack in the Slab, which although had a cool concept - just consisted of me staying mainly in the Present to not deal with the guards.)

Overall, I do enjoy this game moreso than the first one. I think I'll remember the first one better just because it was my introduction to the world, but I feel this game plays a lot better than the first. (And at some point, I'll play the high chaos run with Emily. I don't think that will affect my score here however.)

If we get Dishonored 3 somehow, i seriously hope the devs pay a little more attention to the PC port because the games reputation was more or less destroyed on release due to the atrocious performance and bugs. Stop doing this to pc ports. This game and those with rigs powerful enough to enjoy it at max settings, deserve so much more than what was delivered with the port of this game.

    More to do in Dunwall

One of the most enjoyable games I've played. It's impressive for so many reasons: visually stunning, highly imaginative, excellent gameplay, satisfying combat, and an absorbing story. There are a few technical issues but otherwise it's quite remarkable. Better all round than the original (which was also excellent). If only all games were as good.

Muy rejugable, graficos muy buenos, exquisito diseño de niveles y lo mas importante... muy divertido.
Mejor que Dishonored en casi todos los aspectos.

    Contra:
    1. The second game's plot isn't original - we already saw something similar in the first game.
Pro: 1. The initial PC version of the game *had* some performance issues, but *now* they're fixed, so the game runs very well even on a middle-end PC on *Ultra* settings. 2. The game looks just *amazing*! I mean it's like Crysis 1 back in 2007 - you just walk around and enjoy the

    2. The game looks just *amazing*! I mean it's like Crysis 1 back in 2007 - you just walk around and enjoy the beautiful environment throughout the *huge* levels.
    3. The game play is even more enjoyable than in the first game. As always, you have a lot of options to complete your objectives. I personally prefer a complete stealth (no blood, no see, sometimes even ghost-like), and I've enjoyed both my playthroughs (ATM) very much.
    4. Both protagonists are nicely voiced, and they both talk a lot. Since I'm a devoted Stephen Russell's fan since 1998, I personally prefer to hear Corvo's voice :).
    5. The world around you is alive. The Karnaca's street musicians sing *nice* songs, and the people around hear and applaud them. The City Watch cops whine about their cloths and boots, and even sing sometimes, too :). People at Karnaca's port are doing their own business: fishing, sawing, selling, discussing, looking for job. You can share a coin with beggars, and they can tell something useful in return. You can save an innocent people from the City Watch's tyranny, and they will thank you for this. Also, there is a time travel in the game, and you'll have to change something in the past to reach your goals in the present. My first playthrough took more than 60 hours - isn't that nice?

    Bottom line: 9/10. Must have.

Banger of a game all the way through. Are there problems? Definitely. But I don't give 10s for games that are perfect, because no game is perfect (except TLOU2). I give 10s to games that really stick with me, and games that excel in ways most others can only dream of. And Dishonored 2 does both of those things.

Right off the bat, the level design is just f*cking incredible all around. These levels are so densely packed that I always found it engaging to explore every nook and cranny. I've already played this game before, and yet on this playthrough I was still finding new stuff, which I loved. It also helps that the world building is top tier and every building is worth exploring, and pretty much every note, journal or document is worth reading. I still can't believe how underappreciated the world of Dishonored is.

Combat wise, this game is so brutal and satisfying if you want to go for high chaos. But I think sneaking around and playing non-lethal is just as enjoyable because of how many different routes there are, and how the game lets you mess with its systems. Hell, I even found out about new ways to complete missions this time around that I somehow missed the first time because there's just so many options.

But what really surprised me this playthrough was actually the story. Now it's not amazing or anything, but I ended up appreciating it much more on a low chaos run. I liked seeing how Emily changes as the game progresses, realizing how terrible things really are outside the palace, and that she can't just sit idly by; she needs to be the one to take action. It's maybe a bit more subtle than I would have liked but I certainly appreciated it more this time around. Reshaping the world (and herself) to be better just feels much more satisfying narratively.

In the end, this game is legendary. Arkane have massive wangs, and you a goofy if you don't like this.

The most important part of the game is gameplay, and it's great. I play for Emily, she has a brand new ability, and that's cool, they are very good; I was particularly pleased with "Domino". Teleport her too, but looks a bit different - she is attracted to the place and it looks stylish.
Locations are beautiful, sometimes eerie (for example, the place where the "good doctor"). The passage still variable as in the first part. But it seems to me that the enemies now are some seeing too.
Fans of the first part just have to play the game, it is as good. But you will have lag or not to guess never. I bought and prepared myself for the horrible lag, but I probably was lucky, and I enjoy the game.

    - maybe the most customisable HUD I've ever seen in a game
    - overall beautiful GUI with vastly improved functionality compared to Dishonored
    - by far the most customisable difficulty settings I've ever seen
    - and a number of other smaller improvements, such as level maps that can be found in the streets/buildings and can be later viewed in the journal, the ability to slowly move and rotate when choking enemies, secondary small-font subtitles for when interaction and background speech occurs simultaneously, much more comprehensive stats at the end of each level, etc etc etc.

However, it pains me to say, the writing in this game really sucks balls, especially compared to the original. The story is rather poorly contrived, but above all most of the dialogues feel like a B-grade TV show. It's nowhere near as engaging emotionally as Dishonored, or even as The Knife of Dunwall or The Brigmore Witches. In Dishonored, the stealth and other mechanics served the story, but here I feel like it's the other way around - they had plenty of brilliant ideas on how to improve the gameplay, and needed SOME story to go with it. It's a real shame, and it also made the playthrough feel less exciting and more tedious and repeatable.

The game also suffers from stutter issues, but limiting fps to 60 resolved this. Not ideal and was frustrating initially, but since then it ran just fine. Had only occasional dips to some 55fps with a GTX1070, and no noticeable stutter anymore.

Despite that, if you're a fan of the gameplay from Dishonored, this should be a thoroughly enjoyable experience!

All release bugs and technical problems aside, talking in the artistic, fun, replayeable and history side of the game. This game is a true 9/10. I recomend it to you all for a "Non Benchmarking Experience" just a "Gaming Experience". Hide fps counter, set it to ultra, lock 30 fps and enjoy one of the best single player games with a reasonable Price to buy. SO:

    - History is impacting.
    - Game is long enough (around 15h, im slow so it tooks me like 20-25 hours.).
    - There are a lot of ways to achieve an objetive, is like an "open world game" inside a linear single player game, i really like it.
    - Optional objectives are diferent, relevant in the game and fun to complete.
    - 2 characters, 3 way to play (sealth mode, assassin mode, DOOM MODE), diferent ends with an action depending history makes the game 3 or 4 times replayeable. Actually in my third time (DOOM MODE).
    - The artistic part of the game makes the visuals unique, giving us a reason to remember their main characters, the history and the whole world for a long time.
    - The game looks cool in its low-end graphic settings (Consoles uses a mix of low-mid settings).
    - Full customizable dificulty without achievements restriction like "beat the game in hardest dificulty". Fun achievements.
    - Lot of small parallel stories hiding a whole world in text, people talks, enviorement, etc...

I will give him a 10/10 to compensate the "0/10 - I cant launch it, hard fps drops (viruses, dust, etc), crash to dsktop (Temps, etc.), denuvo sucks" and others unjustified and unobjetives reviews. Console players have low-medium settings, with a non-native resolution and 30 fps and they are so happy with the game, why would we be mad with an ultra setting native 1080p-4k and 30 fps. This is not a game to do benchmarks, that's all. This game is actually (2018) a 9/10.

First I become a powerful assassin, full of dark powers and tricks, fighting my way in a revenge spree. Then I was a deposed empress, betrayed and deadly, that moves like a shadow but that is a benevolent soul and don't killed once, not even her enemies.

And now, as I'm doing this review, I'm in a third playthrough, without any special powers.
It's superb, I don't have words to describe it...

Graphically is fantastic, full of details and with a very peculiar art style that I loved. I had no significant problems, only 2 or 3 errors during game save that forced me to start it, but in more than 60 hours of games so far nothing.

Mechanically easy to pick up especially if they have already played the first, will realize that the basis of controls and powers is practically the same.

Some minor bugs and frame rate drops, most noticeable with any enemies that can blink seems to drive the game crazy. I also felt there could have been more sidemissions for the size of the levels as well as there seems to be a lot of wasted space that only really exists to let your inner kleptomaniac loose.
Overall a solid game let down a little by poor optimization and a slightly dead semi-open world but is by no means a deal breaker.

The level design was incredible, with the clockwork mansion having maybe the best design I have ever come across. The sound, graphics and mood are all excellent. I must say that the star of the show is the gameplay. The freedom to tackle each level how you want to. I chose to play as an assassin, showing no mercy during these tumultuous times. But I imagine the game would have equal satisfaction if tackled in a non-lethal stealth manner.

Overall I would give this a 9, it would have been 9.5 if it was released in this current state, not to mention the fact I have had to upgrade to a titan Xp just to have a quality experience.

Its quite a big improvement over the first game though, bigger more open areas to explore (i have been on mission 2 for 5 and half hours just looking around and looting), far more ways, items and powers to take down enemies if you are playing low chaos stealth only, just as many new really cool kill animations and dismemberment if you are not, lots of lore in books and notes to explore.

If you are in any way interested in the formula of a Bioshock or the first dishonored game then buy it. You can patch issues with performance (definitely wait for this to happen if you have anything less than me) but you cant patch a bad game and this will likely be my GOTY.

Dishonored 2 is great in any way except ending(s) but this could be a subjective thought. I want to say that gameplay is greatly improved and there is plenty ways to pass levels with stealth and clean hands also there is plenty ways to murder your enemies. New skills are enjoyable, level design is way too good and puzzles are excellent. The game itself offers many things to do. Graphics are probably worse than many Triple A games such as like Deus Ex, Witcher or MGS but they obviously are not the worst and I didn't have any problems with Dishonored 2's visuals (except some animation problems) or I haven't faced with any bugs yet.

The worst thing about the game is probably the ending and differences between Emily and Corvo (at least for me.) Dishonored's endings were astonishing and touching even the High Chaos one but in Dishonored 2 story and characters are still ok but endings are not. Both of Low and High Chaos endings felt lame to me at the first sight. In fact Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano are pretty same. There is only small dialogue and ending differences but I'll get over with it.

Dishonored 2 is masterpiece and greatly improved and the cons are too small to notice. It seems like Arkane Studios did their best.

The game runs quite well on my computer (GTX 770, i5 4590@3,30 GHz).
Dishonored 2 improved everything from the first one and brings a lot of new stuff like new non-lethal tools, Emily and her powers, bonecharm crafting, much more elements helping immersion. Gameplay is just perfect and feels so rewarding sometimes. The level design is amazing with original ideas like the clockwork mansion

I really enjoyed the first game and this one is worth the money it has an excellent story and fun gameplay. This game is beautifully crafted and worth the $60. They have also added much more of a challenge and better kill animations. I only have one problem with the story and that is , other then that i have minor issues like there is no animation for picking up or throwing objects.

I'd like to start by saying that yes, the PC version of Dishonored 2 is littered with various bugs, but, that being said, none have been game-breaking for me in my first 2 hours of playtime. The story so far is fantastic and the level and art design provides fans of the original with an evolution on the original game's painted cityscapes. Overall, I'm excited to see what this game has to offer.

This game gives me very mixed feelings. The story, graphics and gameplay are all fantastic and a great step up from the original.

It has a fantastic feel to it and if you enjoyed the original you will certainly enjoy this one. If that was it, I would have easily given this a 9/10 BUT There are so many things dragging it down right now. On PC anyway -Optimisation is terrible,

    BUT

There are so many things dragging it down right now. On PC anyway

-Optimisation is terrible, with an i7 and GTX 1080, at 1080p im struggling to even maintain a 50-60fps framerate on ultra settings, with anti-aliasing at TXAA 1x

-Mouse sensitivity is tied to FPS, so it is extremely hard to aim, especially with how jumpy and unpredictable the FPS is currently.

-Pre-order bonuses. For most this doesnt matter, but trying desperately to tempt people into pre-ordering is always a bad sign in my opinion. And in this case it seems like they were doing it because they knew reviews would be mixed with its current state.

Overall, a very good and exciting game and a fantastic sequel to the original. But the port and optimisation need some serious work. i would not consider this game 'finished'

The combat and stealth feels refined and refreshed compared to the original with some new powers. The new powers are super useful and make the game very enjoyable. Release bugs aside, this game is gorgeous, visually, thematically, and viscerally. Somehow an upgrade in every way from the perfection that was the first game. Lives up to and surpasses all hype. I'm really not sure what else to do or say besides give it a perfect 10. W-o-w.

You can see why they didn't want early reviews released of this game, it is really badly optomised for the PC. I'm not even sure it supports SLI because the fps drops are insane. Leave well alone for now and hopefully it will get fixed.

Technically very bad. Many people report crashes and bad stuttered framerates, while others seem to be fine. BTW, we don't need users to tell us it works for them. "Working" is the default expectation. Post information we don't know, like a fix. Someone should.

This could not have been a surprise. Any testers would have logged these problems 2 mins into the game. If these problems are

If these problems are fixable in a few weeks like the devs hope, then the game could have been release in a few weeks. They gambled that they'd get worse press if they postponed. I'm calling it a bad bet.

My GAMEPLAY review is of course limited to a couple of hours, but there doesn't seem to be anything new in the story or game mechanics. It feels like new maps for the original game.

Poor performance unfortunately! Inclined to return game as will not perform well on 980ti sli 6600k normal high end PC. Do not recommend this game on PC at all. i recommend the inferior yet playable console version. This is far to poor of a game port to play in its current state. Embarrassing when juxtaposed to Doom. The narrative so far reminds me of Alice in Wonderland: A Wrinkle In Time where two sisters have been at odds since their mean little girl games long ago which made the younger sister big-headed and turned her into the queen of hearts. Of course this game like the previous follows every known steampunk work back to Jules Verne yet adds the punk spirit to the story so it isn't just another simple family adventure or Disneyfied story. So far there hasn't been any sexuality (like the golden cat in the first game) but there is plenty of violence, crude characters, uses of drug or alcohol and clear attempts at villains spewing propaganda (which is considered something only adults can handle since understanding the difference between bubble perspective and reality isn't something adolescence is equipped for). In some ways the story struck me between Jessamine and Delilah as a Lily vs. Petunia in the Harry Potter novels style rivalry only Petunia didn't orchestrate the darkness in Harry's life as Delilah did for Dunwall. Still one cannot deny the amount of Steampunk in Dishonored 2 which makes it now only right that CDProjektRed now has to make a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, a sort of continuum of where the city left off and maybe a character who attempts to diffuse another big war. Anyway, different topic, different game. I had a lot more fun with the non-lethal playthrough though the clockwork mansion had one upped a simple geek like me as math isn't my forte. Again if I see not one brothel or courtesan or any other mentions of an orgy throughout the game I'll call it an accomplishment, the most M for mature this game gets is the violence and practically being as violent as any horror or Mortal Kombat game, then again not every R Rated movie or M Rated game has to have sex to merit the rating!!! It's all about context here and the context so far has largely been squeeky clean apart from the violence and otherwise. Expand
