    I'm reading through some of these negative reviews and honestly, the people just feel dumb to me. So many people feel like the game is politically preachy, but it presents each branch completely neutrally. Each branch has an aesthetic, but clearly you're not meant to think one of them is RIGHT. They're projecting. It seems like some of these **** just seem to think that French is gay.

    I mean, I get it if you don't love reading in your games, but it's no Planescape Torment, it's not DENSE with text. And the text there IS is gorgeous. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

    It's hard to describe the amount of praise I want to give this game, so I'll just call it beautiful, hilarious and tender. Those three words come up closest to heart when I think of it. Makes you laugh, then reflect on its greater loudness and length compared to how other games make you laugh. This comes at the cost of making you cry at various points as well.

    The writing, the story, the world building and the voice acting in this game are just sublime - it sets a completely new standard for video games, in my opinion. The inner dialogue and subconsciousness constantly chattering away and giving you good or bad advice based on your stats are a thing of beauty. Very original, and a joy to explore. All the characters in the game are interesting and well designed (Klaasje a personal favorite), the music score gives off strong Twin Peaks soundtrack vibes, which obviously isn't a bad thing.

    There are quite a few negatives as well though - the story drags out a bit too much at times, and wandering around the relatively big map is a bit of a drag at times - it can be hard to get an overview of where you have been and where you haven't. Fast travel is unreliable at best, and for large parts of the game simply doesn't work. I also expected the choices you took in the game to have much more of an impact on what happened to you in the game, but the rather large dialogue trees pretty much lets you get away with saying anything to anyone, and you'll often find yourself just exhausting every option just to progress (and sometimes you have to). This was the biggest letdown of the game for me, having read much about the game beforehand about how much the choices you took impacted the game. It really doesn't.

    Overall though, a very original game that I'd easily recommend to anyone into RPGs or point n' click or murder mystery games. Brilliant writing.    … Expand

Then I played and think the exact opposite that it beats out GoW(2018) as my favorite game of all time. The story, the characters, everything about it is a masterpiece.     One of the best games I have ever played and the pinnacle of the term "Role Playing". Your character is a blank slate, chose how much of a maniac or how genuinely "lost at sea" you want him to be. The dialogue and actions you can take in this had me laughing all the way through. Easiest 10/10 I will ever give.

Most of the appeal here comes from the lore, characters, writing, story, and dialogue. It's almost a little like those choose-your-own-adventure books. Longer play-sessions can get a little fatiguing because it's a lot of reading and decision-making, but that,INCREDIBLE game. Haven't really played anything like it before.     An interactive book with interesting ideas, touching politics and psychology among other things. Many different choices add a great amount of replay value.

    Keep in mind, this game is all about reading and the writing is really good and engaging. I can't imagine myself missing on this experience.

    I really tried to like this. The voice and dialog is top notch. The concept is brilliant. There is nothing negative I would say about this title. But, for some reason I just could not get into it. Maybe it was the leisurely pace. The dialog with characters is seemingly never ending.
    So I would say, it's not my cup of tea but for those who relish a story rich atmosphere, this game nailed it.

    Holy moly. What a game. One of the greatest role playing experiences in video games. It's gorgeous as well. At it's heart it is a detective story, but the world building is so fully realized you can get lost in every corner of the game. It's dense, dark. funny, and actually has something to say. Check it out!!!!

Также в игре довольно серьезно проработанная RPG-составляющая, хотя    Игра конечно балдеж. Крутая и атмосферная.

    Также в игре довольно серьезно проработанная RPG-составляющая, хотя внятная каноничная концовка вроде бы всего одна. Тут достаточно много разных способов и путей прохождения и выполнения квестов, и за счет этого получается более менее уникальное прохождение для каждого игрока.

    В игре очень много интересных и остроумных диалогов. Местами диалоги смешные. Местами очень смешные.

    Стоит упомянуть отличную проработку почти всех персонажей игры. Практически все запомнились. А Ким вообще один из лучших напарников, которых я видел в играх.

    Вообще игра мне видится как интерактивная книжка, где можно влиять на события.

    Seriously though - the story is good, the immersion is amazing (Interesting characters, attention to details, interesting art style)

The story superficially resembles a classic detective novel or a film noir, but it actually features themes of comedy, tragedy, life drama and politics.

    If talk about graphics are not so good also the response time is hard to understand sometimes and talk about audio in the background is pretty much good , difficulty increasing at different types of levels like if the roleplay you want to change take more time versus refilling the bullets in gun.

    If you're into books, then check it out just for the great dialogue you can read; It will make you laugh out loud, or shed a tear..    … Expand

Your primary goal is to solve a murder and the game helps you relatively well regarding the next step towards your goal. The game will hit you with a lot of surprises (some good and some not really) and it's your job to make the best out of the situation. These decisions will make a big difference for the rest of the game and this game really encapsulates this mechanic like few do. Luck and interacting with the world are the main factors for the gameplay which is not my favorite, you could even say that luck is so important in this game that if you're really unlucky you could have a bad time in this game, which fortunately didn't happen to me (except when I tried the hardcore mode). Despite that it was still really clever on how to approach those two mechanics and bringing them together to capitalize on what I consider to be a success formula. There are also other interesting correlations of the world in the game with our reality that are cleverly incorporated in the game. In conclusion, Disco Elysium really takes a step further in creativity with rich ideas, characters, role-play and story-telling, where the player is actively rewarded for exploring and being a bad-ass detective.… Expand

    Really loved this game. Almost never became boring especially for a game that has so much dialogue and reading. The voice acting is so fantastic and masterful. Definitely would suggest
    It would been so much better with a better soundtrack though. Also I came across a very few audio bugs in the dialogues.

    When I first started playing the game had pretty massive bugs. Ones that would normally make me drop it. But I didn't. I couldn't. It's just so gooood! Also, I keep thinking about it and I'm gonna have to go back.

После последнего обновления очень улучшилась работа игры, разработчикам респект. Из минусов можно отметить порой затянутые описания предметов или событий (но это очень субъективно).Хорошая текстовая игра.     Давно меня настолько сильно не затягивали игры, давно не было такого что я пиздец был расстроен тем что игра закончилась. Ахуенные войс актёры, ахуенные диалоги, ахуенные шутки, ахуенный сюжет на уровне какой-то книги бестселлера . Всё в этой игре на 96% ахуенно.     I've heard this is a great game from people I trust. However, the Devs are communists. For real. Now they are rich communists, and I haven't heard anything about how their money is going to the proletariat. Nothing about how they haven't bought houses. Property is violence, remember.

    Brilliant game.

    A CRPG that demands you take your time with it. Don't go in expecting any action. I wouldn't say it's a point and click game either. No pixel hunting or trying to combine random items together.

    Strong, strong writing and voice acting. Memorable characters. Rich world building and lore. Beautiful looking artwork.

    The best RPG game ever. Final Cut is absolute amazing. This is more an interactive and fascinating book with amazing voice actors, art style and music, than a classical game. Love it!

    If talk about graphics are not so good also the response time is hard to understand sometimes and talk about audio in the background is pretty much good , difficulty inceasing at different types of levels like if the roleplay you want to change take more time versus refilling the bullets in gun.

This game has some similarities to Hades, they are comparable but they are still very different. This game is deeper, there's a parry button, stamina bar, and all of it worked so well and it's addicting as hell.
    The biggest grudge I have with this game is the bosses and weapons variety. There isn't really much weapons that really differentiate from 1 another but it is still really good to play. The bosses are pretty easy in Tier 1 but on Tier 2 it really starts to get hard. Some punishments you get (corruption) isn't exactly all bad and some just does wonders for the player but I think that was intentional. But that's pretty much the only thing I would call a negative this game has.

    You know, never mind, there are games that are a 10/10 and this is about as close as it gets. My main issue is that they made it too interesting and fun to play which led to me **** my sleep schedule over and receiving a severe migraine after finishing it for like 2 days straight.

    ALSO, a part that legitimately pissed me off, there's a part towards the end of the game (and maybe some    You know, never mind, there are games that are a 10/10 and this is about as close as it gets.     Might be hard to get into for some people but the clever writing and unique atmosphere makes it easily one of the best and most clever video games ever created. Be careful playing, it contains some really heavy themes.

The fictional world creates an often hilarious backdrop to comment on real world political ideologies, truly unique and interesting comments on classic takes.     i loved disco elysium from the first moment i started the game until the end. don't listen to boring people who say its not good or the game is weird and hard etc. its one of the best RPG games i have played recently.

The protagonist is just perfect for the role he's given, his humor and oddities are some of the things that make him so memorable.     The writing, the story, the world building and the voice acting in this game are just sublime - it sets a completely new standard for video games, in my opinion. The inner dialogue and subconsciousness constantly chattering away and giving you good or bad advice based on your stats are a thing of beauty. Very original, and a joy to explore. All the characters in the game are interesting

    This game was like living in a novel collaboratively written by Dostoevsky and George Orwell, if they were both alive in the late 70's and doing a whole bunch of coke with Soul Train blaring in the background.

    Not a lot of things are like that.

    Personally, my favorite video game (and that I haven't played a few). Its world is complex, with interesting characters and a good plot. Quite interesting and memorable, worth a try even if you don't like RPGs or games with more text than dialogue. There are parts where the text is overwhelming, yes, but it's still a game that holds a big place in my heart.

    Much like a good candle, it's a slow burn, and is at it's best when fired up during a quiet evening in. I say this because in order to fully appreciate the experience on offer, you must allow yourself to get immersed.     The dialogue is smart and well-written, rewarding those that engage with it fully and take the time to listen. Personally, I would have preferred a portion of the games main story beats to take a slightly different path, and found some dialogue sections feeling a bit convoluted, however this does not take away from the overall experience of the game.

    I must admit that seeing the end credits of a game has become somewhat of a rare occurrence these days, with many games feeling bloated and uninspired, however Disco Elysium kept my attention throughout, all the way to the end.    … Expand

    This game is the best game I have ever played. I didn't realise video games could be like this. It was godly.
    If you like story/character/heavy questions about the shape of society and the world at large then you should try it.

    I write a best games of the year article for a medium sized gaming press site.. Disco Elysium has been my game of the year for 4 years running (and that's only because I didn't play it at launch).

    Masterpiece. Some games are about gameplay. Some are about word building, even adventuring. This is about humanity and art. But don't let that discourage you. I think this can be enjoyed by anyone. That's why it's a masterpiece.

    Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is something rare. It’s a re-issued version of an already-beloved game, that manages to eclipse the source material through clever and thoughtful additions that maximise one of the game’s most beautiful assets: its prose. But more than that, it’s the only CRPG that can truly claim to emulate the tabletop experience—not through adherence to statistics or rules or character sheets, but through the simple act of asking questions, and thoughtfully incorporating the answers.

    Disco Elysium has a distinctive quality to its narrative, whether it's the interesting history of its world, or the mysteries surrounding the investigation, not to mention the depth and uniqueness of the many characters. It's one of the greatest story-driven experiences we've ever seen.
