Would be a perfect 10 if it wasn't filled with hackers and modders in Torment X . Cant find the PS4 version but thats based off of that. Dark grind game that stayed true to its roots. Ability to do speed runs and help others is mainly what I play the game now for and the season events are def. a challenge to run through especially on hardcore. I do wish there were better rewards given at the end of a season but other than that def. worth a sinking some time into. Expand

12 years have passed since Diablo II. And wauw what a huge difference. The 3D graphic is amazing. The awesome story continues. The story in these Diablo games never fail. The two first act's are gigantic. The third one is a pretty long road. The forth and final one is a bit too short, but still great. Best game of its kind since diablo 2 , All of the hate is unnecessary as this game nails progression and evil atmospheres / settings . I think I have over a thousand hours and still going . Everything just feels right and smooth ,no clunkiness or useless visuals like other games such as PoE. Great game very underrated

I was late to the Diablo 3 train as I played it last year. I see that the game's rating has been trashed by the user community so maybe I benefited from playing it in 2018 after a lot of the hitches were worked out by Blizzard. Also FYI I only played the game in single player and didn't really play it online with other people at all.

I actually had a blast with Diablo 3 and think it's the best game in the series. I thought the graphics looked great and the game seems pretty optimized to run on lower end hardware (I played it on a Ryzen 3 2200g's integrated graphics). It's great stress relief and so satisfying to to mow through mobs of enemies in a relatively mindless click fest. It's very accessible to newcomers (unlike Diablo 1 which I remember being pretty hard) and delivers that classic Diablo satisfaction so well. I loved how they revamped the skill system so that you don't have to invest points in them like in Diablo 2. Once you unlock the skill you can mix and match them how you want; it works so much better.

My criticisms of the game are fairly nit-picky. One thing that bugged me a lot was the lack of animations for the class I picked (monk). Monks can equip weapons in this game unlike in some other games, but for some dumb reason the weapons don't actually show up in their hands when you equip them. You just see the weapons sheathed on the monk's back and it looks like they're punching enemies when you attack instead of seeing the monk actually use the weapon. It was so frustrating and i felt it was unacceptable for a triple A title. And the story / character development is not a focus in this game but you can't really expect a Diablo game to deliver on this front.

At the end of the day, there's no other game that does Diablo as well as Diablo and it's extremely fun. So I'll give it a 9.

Easily the best ARPG to date, IMO. Currently going through Diablo 2 as I started with 3 (along with the DLC). I actually owned it for a while before I decided to play as it was given as a gift, and thought it wasn't the type of game for me, however, I was wrong...very wrong.

The nostalgic feeling I get form thinking about this RTS trend setter for so many games. Made me start getting into the genre I will never leave. Just epic.

Obviously the Auction House was a terrible mistake at launch but eventually that was removed from the game. What was left was still a solid entry in the Diablo franchise and a very enjoyable game to play - I particularly enjoy Hardcore even though I've lost several high level characters over time....it was usually my fault instead of a server blip or something like that. I know a lot of people would probably disagree, but this is one of the best games. The many difficulties allows for a seamless transition. The slaughter and combat is addictive but unlike Diablo immortal it is me doing the slaughtering all the time.I would highly recommend this game.

My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.

For all the game's missteps, though, you certainly can't accuse Blizzard of phoning it in - if anything, the game suffers from the tendency to try a little to hard at times to evolve the design. [Aug 2012, p.61]

When it works, Diablo III is the best of the Diablo games. When it doesn't, all it does is make you mad. [July 2012, p.54]
