    Gamers are just blind, there are 3 reasons this game is loved:
    1- RE Engine looks good
    2- It's more story driven and that is popular at the moment 3- You can play the entire thing using the same 3 combos and get S ratings DMC 4 SE is more well paced, has more level variety, you don't fight the same boss 4 times, the dante fight is actually intense instead of each taking turns doing    Gamers are just blind, there are 3 reasons this game is loved:

    DMC 4 SE is more well paced, has more level variety, you don't fight the same boss 4 times, the dante fight is actually intense instead of each taking turns doing anime transformations into devilman crybaby, the foundations for something better is there, combos are more fluid and the new mechanics could add some very cool stuff but no, the game makes swordmaster useless with the rebellion and after you see under the flashy and pretty colors there is a putrid garbage that reeks of DMC 2, stupid AI that feels like they just move at your general direction and do random moves, sometimes struggling to hit you while you're stationary, fluid combos that serve no purpose since enemies can be downed by whatever, barely any challenge after you slightly upgrade and even if you die, the game gives you free gold orbs, checkpoints and you can buy a revive on the spot.

    And **** me for not liking this game amirite? i'm just a grumpy old timer that can't enjoy anything past the ps2, now you can go back to rating games due to public opinion, the company behing it and flashyness, go find some excuse to not refund cyberpunk 2077 or memes to hate on EA even though their latest games were great, when you're disappointed because DMC 6 continued the downgrade that was DMC 5 i'll be here to say "i told you so" just so i'll be ignored again.    … Expand

    I can not express how much I am dissappointed by this game.
    The only solid thing is the combat, but lets be honest, it was good already in all previous titles of the series. This solid foundation was unfortunately wasted by everything else.

    - constantly switching characters with different steering scheme is really bad idea, it disconnected me from the game, its annoying to say the least
    - I really enjoyed reboot DMC few years ago, but many people complained about design of the main character, Its out of my capability of understanding how could they accept character such as V, who has no fighting system apart from bashing 2 of his demons buttons at once all the time and getting S for this. He is enigmatic the same way he is boring and week and feels out of place, the same place where master Dante destroyed anything in his path
    - good fighting system may sometimes cover the fact that the game is completely empty, few secret missions and that is it
    - structure of the game, splitting the game into missions is thing of the past, please move already to present times, watch Remedy's Control and learn how it should look in 21st century
    - the devil hunter difficulty is really really low, too low, and after what I saw in this game, I will not play it again at a higher difficulty, it throws me away so bad,
    - the story is poor excuse for this game to exist, its boring, naive, predictable, with some really soap operas plot twists, total cringe
    - once again steering - WHO decided that Nero should have his hook and his booster arm under one button? its another example of the mess this game is

    Really trying to like this game but it's not for me. The battles are unsatisfying - mindless enemies, each encounter is very instanced & limited, and every character seems like they have the same personality.

    Me lo pase sin morir y sin desbloquear casi ningún combo, en mi opinión la dificultad tan absurda arruina la primera partida y lo hace aburrido. Habiendo jugado Sekiro antes que este la diferencia se nota.
    Yo no tengo tiempo para pasarme un juego de 8 horas 3 o 4 veces, eso de que "el juego empieza a partir de la primera partida" me parece alargar el juego artificialmente. La historia no    Me lo pase sin morir y sin desbloquear casi ningún combo, en mi opinión la dificultad tan absurda arruina la primera partida y lo hace aburrido. Habiendo jugado Sekiro antes que este la diferencia se nota.

    DMC 5 is a slap in the face to the PC player base that make this the best action game of the year after Capcom is not going to release the SE version to PC, instead giving us a Vergil DLC for god knows how much.
    The score I give this game is the reflection of Capcom's respect for PC players.

    Hello everybody . I played dmc3 and 4 and dmc reboot several times, i love thoes games. Dmc 5 IS NOT very fun as its older versions. I give it up in level 11. You call and the car coming from nowhere just make me sick . Charcter v is **** you just runing and using a tiger to smash things like very stupid way. Combat system is not as fun as dmc reboot.     The only reason this game doesn't get a "0" is simply 'cos the graphics is pretty good - but boy does every other thing bout it suck!
    In summary, DMCV = (Stupid Story + Forgettable Enemies & Stupid looking Bosses + 3 Different Characters who use the same repetitive attack buttons) / Stupid Dialogues

    In fact, there couldn't be a greater diverging contrast between 2 games from the same makers like DMCV and RE2 Remake; RE2 is amazeballs in every way (5 playthroughs already, and I'm still at it!) despite a minor dent in its gameplay mechanics, but DMCV needed another year in the workshop - honest. For such a "Big Game", the general vibe it exudes is just "silly and unserious" like the developers where making it to be a "Big Joke" instead.
    Past Nero's 1st? chapters and 2 into V's, and my fingers were getting the cramps! Like, when was the last time that happened?! Cos I'm literally mashing the same buttons throughout.
    Devil May Cry: DmC stills stands as my fave in the series; it had a cool story, cool graphics (for its time) and enjoyable gameplay! And you find it's only fans of the original who dis it.
    PS: Whoever came up with the silly idea of making a Devil Arm out of bananas, or spoons and forks, most definitely didn't take the making of this game seriously!    … Expand

    AMAZING Graphics! But thats it! The game is so boring and repetitive. How can this game get so high score is beyond me.

    i dont know , Graphics is awesome , videos are cool and with Dante is fun, but game is booring , easy and short same levels, mision locations are not memorable , boss fights are not memorable , fight system is easy , game is not challange , after few same mision is so booring , i love DMC merch , and this is not DMC , story is weak and starts somewhare in 14 level. boss fight are stupidi dont know , Graphics is awesome , videos are cool and with Dante is fun, but game is booring , easy and short same levels, mision locations are not memorable , boss fights are not memorable , fight system is easy , game is not challange , after few same mision is so booring , i love DMC merch , and this is not DMC , story is weak and starts somewhare in 14 level. boss fight are stupid (you make same things 5 minutes) , and mess with timeline is stupid.this game is for kids not for fans.… Expand

    This is one of those games that get high ratings just for not having terrible performace, bugs, having decent story but gameplay is 4/10, simply combat is not fun.

    Fix your engine! My PC have minimum system requirements, but i cant play, because this game goes dark screen. Same problem RE2 2019. One question. Why it is not fixed so far?? 1/10

    Everyone talks about graphics and story, battle system is great they say. And it doesn't matter that Darksiders with same battle mechanics were unsuccessful, press 3 buttons to dodge, really? About music: anyone will disagree but I think that soundtrack at this game sucks. Even in DmC 4 it was better, and don't even speak about 2013 DmC. As a conclusion game is good (kind of) but not for all.

    One more **** port with outdated graphics and bad optimization, PC that can run Far Cry 5 on Ultra settings with 150% resolution with minimal 80FPS in action, is not enough to run this PS3 graphics even on high with 40-60... Btw, graphics quality looks worse, than The Last of Us on PS3, yes stylish, sometimes, but quality is Very Bad for such Requirements.     Environment is very repetitive visually and become boring after time, there are just some different visual style and they repeat over and over again. (even FFXV show Twice better FPS, than this low res. texture simulator...)
    Controls as always no ported at all, just emulator quality, tbh even with Emulation DMC3 had much better controls for PC, than this unoptimised crap, such games should be banned for low quality.
    Story as always about nothing, boring and stupid.
    Music as always good, 3 points for Music, but overall sound-work sucks, game can't even handle 5.1 acoustic in 2019.
    Gameplay primitive, you have poorly animated mannequins to reach SSS combo and keysmash to reach SSS combo, or you can try to do it in your stylish way, but still boring....
    Also you can't play Hard from the beginning, so you are forced to replay this boring, repetitive and outdated crap, over and over again, to get Somehow Challenging experience...    … Expand

Overwhelming numbers of weapons that you can swap between for no good reason. The story is incoherent. Naff dialogue. DmC 2013 was a far superior game in every aspect.     Any DMC fan must play this game!
    The game got rid of almost all of its annoying things that the previous games had such as bad camera and back tracking.
    The graphics are stunning, some cutscenes sometimes even look like CGI and the facial animation is something... Although I liked the reworked combat system of the DMC reboot, the developers managed to make the old combat system better    Any DMC fan must play this game!

    DMC5 and it's combat is so good it made any other hack'n'slash unplayable for me, this game really is levels above games like bayonetta etc.

    Devil May Cry 5, while seemingly shallow on the surface, conceals its greatest features and true experience for only the dedicated to discover. The satisfaction of finally overcoming a block in the game that held you back for so long is where the real experience lies, and the game demands that you not be weak of heart to reach it. Put in the time and effort that the developers expect of their fans and you’ll truly be able to reap the rewards and see DMC5 for what it is; a truly off the wall, batshit insane romp through the best the genre has to offer.

    The culmination of the franchise and so much more. Capcom is still putting up the pressure one notch above, with new mechanics, a renewed gameplay, and a replayability that will make you start the game a second time without losing your smile. The story has matured and a good balance has been found with its three destinies that intersect over the course of the missions, until its apocalyptic final. Only big downside in a game that requires precision in its highest difficulty levels: the camera problems and the targeting system.

    Bland location design aside, Devil May Cry 5 is excellent in all other aspects. Deep combat system, charismatic characters, nice graphics, vibrant soundtrack — this is one hell of a crazy-ass meaty slasher.
