I got this game for about one dollar and that's about what it's worth.

Devil Daggers feels more like a little minigame that you'd find in a bigger, more complete FPS rather than its own, fully fledged game. It's simple, it's repetitive and it's pretty pointless; see how many seconds (or minutes, if you have the patience to get better at the game) you can survive running around a bleak,

The visuals are pretty decent. Good use of low-poly models and creepy creature designs.

    Pros:
    + addicting
    + controls well
    + great sound effects
    + runs on any machine

    Cons:
    - low on content
    - lacks gameplay variety

A one note experience, Devil Daggers is the sort of thing you either love or hate. Less skilled players will find themselves blasting the same three or four enemies over and over and over again. It's intense and stylish, but also singular and highly repetitive. It's fun for a while, but it's also the style of game I played to death twenty years ago.

Lol... This kind of games reveal how lost some reviewers are with indie games.
Not all indie games are good, and this is a good example.
If this game had been released in the Doom/Heretic years, wouldnt have drawn a single drop of attention.
In short, retro graphics and high difficulty dont make a good game by themselves.

Pure FPS mayhem. Super minimalist, visceral and unforgiving. Best served with a side of Drum'n'Bass.

Leaderboards highlight where you rank among players globally and within your friends.

Those expecting a story and level progression in vein of Doom and Quake may be disappointed. But the tight combat, great artstyle, gripping audio, and terrifying enemy designs more than make up for it.

Devil Daggers is here to only do one thing; to test your will.

Wow this must be one of the weirdest shooters I have ever played
Its a retro hell shooter where you pretty much shoot devils in hell
The graphics are retro like i already said ,and I actually don't like retro graphics ,but in this game i didn't mind. The game was overall fun and is very cheap ,but is difficult ,short in terms of content but because you die all the time its worth its price

Devil Daggers knows exactly what it is (and more importantly what it isn't) and revels in it.

I would highly recommend Devil Daggers.

Very simple. Very addictive. Devil Daggers will keep you up at night hoping you don't fall too far down the leaderboards and will keep you coming back for more.

The game seems like something of a short form side project for an up and coming game dev.(Kinda like Savant Ascent) If that's true, I hope it is just as successful as its its currently popular, and the guy behind it makes something amazing onwards.

While its by no means deep, whatever it is, there's something about it, that just keeps you going back to try last just a little longer, kinda like Crimsonland (If anyone remembers that one...)

It's a very simple system game and it's very addictive!! It's a game for hardcore gamers but usual gamers can try to and they will be able to win, maybe ( there is just one trophy and only one guy won it )!! So, I will surely play with it along time!!

The real value of this game is the overwhelming feeling of being constantly overpowered by hellish creatures in a dark world.
The mechanics are fine too, simple and solid as they should be, but again, this game so good because of fear: fear not to keep up, fear of falling to oblivion, fear of the dark, fear because of the rattling sounds, the monstrous screams, fear of what's coming

It's amazing how did they manage to create such sensations with just a few pixel.

On a technical perspective the game is a solid arcade FPS where you're confined to an arena with no escape (you can fall out of its boundaries) and have to face hordes of enemies killing them by hitting their core with throwing daggers (with gun-like throwing speed)

It's both a good game and a good value game taking its tag price in consideration.
    Totally recommended to almost everyone.

What I can say is It’s a very tight, completely realised, fun to play game with a fantastic unique dark art style and at the price of £3.99 I couldn’t recommend it more.

(I could, but I really want to get back to playing it)

insanely difficult i recommend playing with maximum sensitivity and a good music playlist because i spent 21+ hours in 3 days and my best was 94 seconds difficult as hell! 10 out of 10 because their is not many games that are as difficult

With only one arena and death coming quickly, you would think this game would get boring fast. However it is very addictive as it keeps making you want to beat your high score due to its great combat.

    Difficulty? Yes.....
Story? Nobody has time for that sh't!
Gameplay? Surprisingly minimalistic but at the same time it has a lot of depth. Gem farming, shotgun tech, dagger jumping and Bhopping. You will need to master all of the mechanics of the game if you want to get past 500 seconds. Sound design? You hear a faint and deep laughing sound behind you. You choose to ignore it

Sound design? You hear a faint and deep laughing sound behind you. You choose to ignore it completely and 3 seconds later you realize you just made a terrible mistake ignoring it. Then you proceed to die. Lesson learned, next time you should take care of that skull just a bit earlier if you want to survive.

The game is visually appealing and nothing else...
Shame as this could have been a gem like dusk had some effort been put into it.

Movement is smooth and fast, recalling the fluidity of seminal arena shooters such as Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament 2004. [May 2016, p.122]

It’s not that deep, but it’s bizarrely engaging and fun.
