    There is also a bit of a flaw with Deer & Boy: It is so clearly "a game of this type", but unfortunately never manages to reach the greatest of the genre. Neva, Arise: A Simple Story, Inside, Little Nightmares II, Journey, The Last Campfire ... I can name better games for the boring. That doesn't make Deer & Boy a bad experience, but the list is a few good tricks above this.

    Deer & Boy is a visually and aurally stunning cinematic experience. However, every great film also needs a great story, and this release falls short in this respect. This is largely due to the game failing to provide concrete answers about the world’s magic and darkness. As a game, though, it is enjoyable enough, with some cleverly designed puzzles. But the clunky movements of the adult deer and the frustrating stealth sections may irritate you occasionally on this magical journey.
