Its incredible improvements, combined with insane visual quality and immersion, make it an outstanding experience from start to finish. Even if you were put off by the first game’s gameplay loop, the sequel’s more action-packed approach and more natural, engaging narrative make it feel fresh.

Delivering good performance even on older hardware, the title stands out for its Ray Tracing which, while providing more natural reflections and lighting, is not essential. If you're playing with a controller and have a reasonably good PC, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is the ultimate version right now. If you want to experience this classic and have the opportunity, this is definitely the version I'd recommend. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a masterpiece and as close to art as a game can get.

It plays a treat on my system, which is far from top of the line. Kojima Productions and Nixxes are known to be masters of optimisation when it comes to porting projects like this, and it might be one of its most accomplished efforts yet. It plays and looks incredible, so much so that I’m tempted to go on this epic and emotional journey all over again.

The PC version of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach maintains, and in some ways, lifts the high bar of quality its console counterpart set.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach on PC is a wonderful port and a very faithful sequel. It stands out for its major visual improvements, a cinematic photo mode, and the excellent stability provided by DLSS. Its mouse and keyboard gameplay is flawless, although its high technical requirements can be an obstacle for some players.

In the same vein as recent PS5 exclusive ports, Nixxes delivers an excellent PC version of Death Stranding 2. Graphically and technically almost flawless, aside from a few minor glitches, enjoyable to play with both keyboard/mouse and controllers, especially the DualSense, and with some welcome additions via a free update, this is clearly the definitive version of Kojima Productions' latest BB. A port of this quality makes it all the more regrettable that Sony has apparently decided to stop adapting other single-player PS5 exclusives for PC in the future. This one, therefore, has a very unique flavour and, whether we like it or not, represents a beautiful swan song for this chapter of PlayStation history, which closes on the Beach.

Death Stranding 2's PC port showcases the power of the Decima Engine once more, proving its superiority in both optimization and presentation. "To the wilder" difficulty also adds the much-needed challenge that it sorely needed, making it the definitive version of the game.

By turns sentimental and ridiculous, Death Stranding 2 nonetheless offers best marriage of mechanics and meaning in Hideo Kojima's storied career.

Even though the price is far from adequate for such a late release, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach on PC is a great port of one of the best sequels ever made by Kojima Productions.
