An interesting FPS-slash-puzzle platformer with unique and interesting mechanics. Be warned, however - this game is brutally difficult and will actively attempt, at every twist and turn, to frustrate, confound and irritate you. That said, despite this infuriating difficulty it is still rather enjoyable.

I enjoy games with simple mechanics and an emphasis on speedrunning. But this game suffers from the same issues as Cloudbuilt in that it is far too complex. But this game suffers from the same issues as Cloudbuilt in that it is far too complex. I only managed to get up to level 4 and I gave up half way through it because rather than offering lots of small simple levels, the levels are vast and complex and a nightmare to navigate. It is not easy (at least for me) to find which way to go as there are lots of paths. There are also far too many environmental death traps to navigate. By the time you get to level 4 it's no longer about being quick, but actually just getting through the game. Where Cloudbuilt fails because of its complex environments, extreme pace and many enemies, it at least manages to keep levels short and makes it clear that being fast is what's important. Deadcore, on the other hand, fails because it offers collectibles and long levels. The only thing that makes it remotely apparent that this is a speedrunning game is the timer on your weapon. I'm not sure if I misunderstood the game, but it seems to be that this is more of a "deathtrap navigation puzzle" game than one in which you are under time pressure; at least in the first run. The core mechanics are very promising, as is the general aesthetic and design. But it suffers from complexity which makes it difficult to enjoy and recommend. Expand

If you are a platforming genius DeadCore will be your ultimate challenge as the difficulty is raking the highest tops. It might even be so hard that certain players will simply drop off, but if you are not afraid of insanely complicated puzzles you have to give this a try.

A lot of skill, fast reflexes and quick maneuvering are keys to solve the riddle throughout its 5 levels. If it just had a few more checkpoints so it wasn't unbearably punishing then it would have been a 9 or 10, but I feel that it solidly earns a well deserved 8/10.

Skill skill skill ! You will need nothing more than that ...

This games reminds me the 'obstacle' maps of Shootmania Storm.
But well done and beautiful !
    A lot of replayability also.

From my Steam Review: The people who complain about this game's difficulty miss the beauty of this game. This is by far one of the most spectacular looking games I have ever played. Three words come to mind when I look at the background: Godly, Heaven, Futuristic. It is still challenging but not impossible. This is by far one of the most spectacular looking games I have ever played. Three words come to mind when I look at the background: Godly, Heaven, Futuristic. It is still challenging but not impossible. It is not rare to die 5 times to get past one obstacle just like the original Mario games, but you will be able to get past them eventually. You may not even have to get through the obstacle the way the game wants you to. By that I mean, the way you solve the obstacle is very flexible. You can often go around, above, or behind your obstacle and there are even multiple paths to your ultimate destination. This game has no story, but it doesn't need one because the journey is the experience. I beat this game just now and it was an incredibly fun game.

I have no idea where these negative reviews are coming from.

DeadCore is a skill based game like we don't see enough, made by an indie game studio with lots of passion! When you've finished a level you'll want to play it again just to beat your time. The game is visually stylish. If you liked Portal, Mirror's Edge and indie games in general, you're gonna like it! 10/10, this game deserves encouragements!

A sparse checkpoint system combined with NO ability to select difficulty equals a game that is more frustrating than fun. The casual player won't have the time or patience to replay levels over and over ad nauseum. It's a nice idea ruined by poor execution.

Good difficult, a bit short. There was some passage where you need some more trys. Huge worlds and skill needed. One of the best Jump and Run games ever !

DeadCore is an interesting game on its own. Though it could need some reworks and more work put in to updates and patches. The graphics are good, and look updated. The physics work as supposed. There's pretty much no bugs!

Pros: Many pathways Many opportunities. Skill based game, train and you'll get better! replayability Dash Cons: Not many weapons Not many maps lacks steam

In conclusion: If you want to play something new and refreshing, DeadCore is a great game. if you want something to stick to for a long time´, like CS:Go or LoL. DeadCore is not the game for you. But if you're looking for something different to have in your steam library, DeadCore is a cool game at a reasonable prise!

I think this game is surprisingly under-rated based on the user reviews. It is a unique game, well executed with tight controls. It's a challenging 3D platformer styled game with some puzzle solving elements, great graphics, and a fantastic alternative to standard popular genres flooding the market.

The levels are not a one and done type deal. There can be difficult levels, frustrating

It is a very unique platforming game. Personally I liked the Sci-Fi style, the special obstacles and that I could jump SO **** high. (xD) However I think it might be a little overpriced but overall I enjoyed the game.

Surprisingly fun and well developed indie FPS platformer/speedrunner. Very intense and challenging platform action with some pretty crazy puzzles thrown in as well. It's only 5 levels, but expect a grueling 1-2hrs each to complete levels 4 and 5. The satisfaction at the end is definitely worth the frustration as you grind your way through from checkpoint to checkpoint. At times I noticed my elevated heart-rate from the intensity of playing this game. Pretty decent visuals, great music, and a heck of a fun challenge if you have it in you. Expand

An extreme first person platformer designed very skillfully. Every time I died – and I died 343 times on the last level alone – I needed to try again. There’s something in Deadcore that makes you crawl back for more. [02/2015, p.48]

Combining platform and FPS might sound weird, but DeadCore shows it can be much fun.

This game is what we could call a "Super Meat Boy 3D", since its gameplay relies on precision. It's not perfect, but its mechanics and difficulty make it very enjoyable.
