One is that enemies will spawn at the exact spawn points whenever you are far away from the area for several steps, so you end up fighting them with the same strategy used before.

Second reason is that the game is built on the base of finding supplies, so all nature of quests and player's exploration all points to finding better loot or required materials.

So, the flows end up like this: explore and kill zombies, loot for items (button F mashing), backtrack and fight the enemies again, return to the camp to drop loot or hand in quest, repair items, rinse and repeat.

This becomes boring when you keep on doing that throughout the course of game.

Klimatyczna jak diabli. Wciąga jak żaden inny fps Każdy typ zombiaka wydaje charakterystyczne dźwięki i to jest piękne. Cała muzyka jest świetna. Majstersztyk.

It is the same Dead Island original game with new maps , some fixed bugs and slightly improved mechanics. Therefore it deserves the same score as the original (more or less).
Don't trust the haters. If you loved Dead Island, you'll definitely love this one too. It should've come out as a expansion, though.

'Riptide' is an excellent follow up to the original 'Dead Island' game, and even though it's essentially the same thing with a continued storyline, it was just as much fun playing through as the original. The change in atmosphere, the more cinematic cut-scenes, added waterboats, and new enemies are great additions and make 'Riptide' worth experiencing even if you think you know what the'Riptide' is an excellent follow up to the original 'Dead Island' game, and even though it's essentially the same thing with a continued storyline, it was just as much fun playing through as the original. One of the best parts about this series is how long it takes to actually get some god damn firearms. I'm sure that's a huge turn-off for some people, but I love clawing my way through horde after horde with just my bare hands and some pipes to get to the good stuff. 'Riptide' has more of a focus on firearms than 'Dead Island', but the grinding to find them isn't lost at all. 'Riptide' is also far less punishing when it comes to how quickly your weapons break apart. So there's always that.

As for the story, it's pretty much what you'd expect, cheesy dialogue from a group of misfit characters trying to escape the island to save their lives, and he music is better than the first and feels like it would be right at home in an 80's slasher flick. There's also plenty to do; mostly find this, find that, go here, go there, save him, save her, but despite the repetition in quests, it never felt like I was doing the same thing over and over again. 'Riptide' is definitely worth picking up during the next sale.

I may have a different review than everyone else as I have played at a later date and with (I think will most likely be a better computer) The game had great graphics for when it was released and the game play was amazing I imported my character just to make it harder on myself. This game has an insane quantity of bugs but it still remains as very good game if you liked the last one but the real problem of this "game" was that the creator didn't add more than simple boats, a new campaign and a new character. The story it's OK but it is too short if you don't do the sidequests and it is a bit boring if you don't play with someone in coop. As bloody and brutal as Dead Island, some new weapons and monsters. Other than that no big changes and still fun. Sadly it's almost as buggy as the first title.

It's similar level of production like the first part. Continuation of the story with added monsters and other game-play elements.
I would say I spent quite a nice almost 60 hours in the game doing most of the missions (including side missions and exploring).
Music almost perfectly works by making you calm in safe areas and very alert and even terrified in dangerous zones. I loved that I

I loved that I could move my character skills tree from first game instead of starting everything from zero, again.
Game has a few bugs that I could definitely live with.

This Supplement as well as the original suffer the same problems. The complete absence of normal quests and this is the main problem of this part of the game, but playing in Dying Light you understand how much higher goals it is and how many new features it provides. Of the pros, this is quite a good visual component, but the lame filter and bloom all spoil and can not be turned off.

This game is just good fun. Love stomping on zombies and knocking them down stairs. Nothing quite like the satisfying sound of throwing a sickle - like a small tomahawk into some cold hard butter. However, some stereotyping and tropes do not hold up in 2021. The only other complaints are a blah story and zombies that level as you do - reducing the impact of leveling your character and finding high power weapons. Overall a wonderful slog. Do not forget to kick everything you approach bodies may not just be napping but wait to groan/lunge with impunity. Expand

This feels like more like a DLC than a sequel, the maps are little bit worse/smaller than in the first Dead Island, but it's still not a bad game. I had fun.

A worse and overall more tedious addition to Dead Island. It reaches credits in about half the time, but wears out its welcome before it hits 5 hours in. I attribute that to the fact it's opening is not nearly as strong as the opening for the first entry was. The difficulty gets to be way more aggrivating much early as enemies will overwhelm you with numbers you don't have skills to sufficiently manage, with movement and defensive measures being about the same, with the addition of a few extra attack options and a few new weapon types. A few interesting missions do stand out, but otherwise, it's not as worthy as revisiting as it's predecessor. Expand

The graphics style of the game does not age too well, but they are not bad either. The creepy dark corridors or the shut-down factories are very immersive.

The controls feel smooth. Cutting through zombies, and exploring the map feels good, no major issues. The soundtrack of the game is very fitting and suits the game well, but it lacks that spark, making it quite boring, as most of the tracks sound the same.

There is a good amount of content in the game. There are two major maps, those being the city and the jungle, with the majority of our time spent on the latter. This makes the game a good break from the standard zombie apocalypse-style game, as we get to experience the setting in an exotic jungle.

There are three skill trees, and while the skills themselves feel nice, the trees themselves are quite small. This combined with the fact that our character already has a specialisation means there isn't much variation in character development.

Overall, while the game is considered the second in the series, it's more like Dead Island 1.5. It's a great expansion of the first game, but with no real big changes which can be both positive and negative, depending on whether you enjoyed the first game.

Dead Island Riptide walks the same path as its predecessor. Another tropical island filled with boring mission design and loads of filler time in the form of traveling between different locations. And like last time it is still quite entertaining. At least with a couple of friends.

An attempt to remake the pretty-looking shambler - with no effort to improve the balance of game systems or iron out bugs. [July 2013, p.80]

Two years ago, I criticized the original Dead Island for its storyline that was nonsensical even by the usually low standards of the ‘zombie’ genre. Well, Riptide plunges even deeper. And don’t even dream of exploring the game’s open world – there is absolutely nothing worth your time.
