while the critics are correct in saying that the game doesn't bring anything to the FPS genre, the dead effect 2 for pc is actually a lot of fun. the RPG part of the game is solid, voice acting is cringe worthy, dialog to, but what do you expect from a zombie game. I have put in 4 hours so far and expect to continue playing for awhile. 8/10 for gameplay and re-playability

Dead Effect 2 is the gold standard for FPS games in 2018. The usage of unique game mechanics such as tempered glass and lifts make it an entertaining experience for the entire family, and the single-player storyline is as captivating as it is emotional (warning - bring tissues, you'll need them!)

The gameplay is fluid and the sword mechanics are some of the most refreshing sword-based mechanics we've seen in a very long time. Additionally, the inclusion of a multi-gendered class system is a lovely touch, though it'd have been nice to have seen a 3rd gender? Perhaps they're saving that for Dead Effect 3 (Genders.)

All in all, a masterpiece. 10/10.

Dead Effect 2 is the jewel in the Dead Effect crown. Such exquisite detail leads to levels filled with tense wonder. A deeper analysis of this game reveals its true nature. Shoot your arrows true, but note that the tempered glass around the levels may provide a stumbling block for your otherwise excellent aim. The simplicity of including no interactive items, save for panels to operate a steam-powered lift and a completely separately designed UI purely for kicking bookshelves in allows for full immersion in the context of this deep and terrifying world.

What horrors await? Dead Effect 2 is, and always will be, 10.

Fun game with hours of fun and content!

I really enjoyed Dead Effect 2. It is a Indie Horror FPS with one goal: Shoot the living crap out of zombies. It is simple and sometimes a little bit repetitive but for me, totally worth it. I really enjoyed Dead Effect 2. It is a Indie Horror FPS with one goal: Shoot the living crap out of zombies. It is simple and sometimes a little bit repetitive but for me, totally worth it.

The graphics are fair, the sound effects are really nice and the gore effects are cool. The story is surprisingly good in my opinion and I enjoyed every mission. The gear system with implants, armors and weapons is also really well done.

Sure, there are some flaws in my opinion, like the unskippable cut scenes (which was a hell in the begin missions when you need to do them over and over again), Many times you are asked to kill 30 bosses while the levels do not have more than 3 bosses max. Also the grinding for parts to make the ultimate weapons is a painful grind. But with some tactics (choose a level with many lockers right at the start) it was manageable. The interface can be a little annoying sometimes but not that big of a deal.

For me, the most fun i had with this game was not the story or Danette's details rack, it was the challenge of fully complete it and unlocking al the 220 achievements. This meant hours and hours of grinding, repeating and trying, but when you complete it, you reflect on all that time and feel satisfied. I am the kind of person that does not mind playing the same level twenty million times just to unlock one achievement.

The DLC features the third part of the story line, a new playable character and some news skills and weapons, nothing special but for the story it was worth it. Also, i needed it to unlock the rest of the achievements.

So in short, great Indie shooter with hours and hours of content in many different modes and challenges.

I recommend it when you have some hours to spend!

I wonder what horrors await me in Dead Effect 3, and I mean it not in a good way because this game fails as first-person shooter.

A confusing interface, a bad Artificial Intelligence, and an overall look that can't hide the mobile genesis of the game. Dead Effect 2 could be fun for a couple of hours, but is really cheap on the long run.

Dead Effect 2 might have been acceptable on mobile phones, but it doesn't work here. Every aspect of Dead Effect 2 is worse than other games in the same genre on Steam.
