    DayZ is a combination of two keys - W and Alt. The only game with beautiful mapping that conveys the atmosphere of abandonment and post-apocalypse. A lot of weapons, the most diverse loot and a really interesting big map.

    9 Years of highs & lows, making friends & enemies from rages to riches. No other game can meet the rush of a Dayz interaction. For that reason this game will be a timeless staple of my games library!

    the memories and adventures i have had with mr rupert3k on DDU have been a delight and been a pure magical experience, two groups that were against each over for a while, have joined forces to make the game more of an enjoyable experience, #RSF-PEACHIESONTOP

    It's not for everyone yet those who persist are rewarded handsomely.
    engine & animations are crude but it's clunkiness is part of it's charm.
    on popular community servers humour, rivalry & camaraderie is strong.
    in dayz you forge ripper memories on the regular
    highly recommended

    all the new patches are slowly killing this once good game, dunno what the devs think they are doing but just getting dayz harder and harder and harder its really awful and not fun at all

    A hardcore game. It is not for everyone but I like those games. Really realistic in a post apocalyptic scenario.

    If your weren't aware, hipsters are alive and well in the gaming industry it seems and they love this game.

    Otherwise, this game is absolute garbage, with 0 to few redeeming qualities. The gameplay loop to start is an absolute slog. I don't mind the idea of starting with nothing but being half dead from the start in a game where you spend your first 80minutes unable to get to a decent    If your weren't aware, hipsters are alive and well in the gaming industry it seems and they love this game.

    Otherwise, this game is absolute garbage, with 0 to few redeeming qualities. The gameplay loop to start is an absolute slog. I don't mind the idea of starting with nothing but being half dead from the start in a game where you spend your first 80minutes unable to get to a decent looting spot is ridiculous. Even then the loot spawns are few and far between with no sense whatsoever. Nothing is within a 5KM of where it would logically be found in real life. To fix a car you'll travel the entire map to find any ammo for your one shot break-action shot gun you'll need to play for 10 days...240 hours.

    Visually the game can be pretty for moments at a time before you look at the poorly detailed houses or zombies. I'm aware the game came out a while ago, however the fact that most buildings are only about 50% modeled with interior at best and inaccessible for the other 50% makes the graphical quality stand out horrendously. Even the Xbox One could handle more than the game offered.

    On console it was a buggy mess and on PC it was just a mess...a lazy one. Before the game was called, allegedly, passable (for $60 Canadian) they were pumping out a $20 map that seemed just as lazy. It may not be as buggy as it was but the whole thing is still jank.

    Unmodded you'll have no fun whatsoever. There's maybe 8 guns and about that many spawn on the map at a time. You'll rarely encounter any one and if you do it'll be clunky and leave you frustrated by whatever BS the server decided to calculate. No game deserves the price it has remained that has relied so heavily on modders. Technically speaking it's not crazy as most modern set ups will handle it fine so optimization isn't much of an issue anymore. Not that there's many systems running to really stress your computer. Games that take half the storage space have twice the interconnected and complex systems. And the A.I. certainly won't cause issues on a systems level because there's detection (or not), yell, run head first at detected as far as zombies are concerned.

    I'm actually all for games that ask their player to "make their own fun" but you have to provide the players with mechanics, where DayZ only has ways to die (or not). There's a difference between telling players to make their own fun and giving them nothing to do and DayZ falls in the latter. I fail to think of a game mechanic given to players to play around with...unless it's actively blocked by the game itself. Your to busy dying to explore, enjoy the hunting, raid other players, loot anything fun etc etc What it is as a whole, is a lazy and I mean LAZY, port of a decades old mod to cash in on, marketed only with hype, because nothing really shines and very little work was put into a game that took forever to release. It's empty, it's still often buggy, despite that it's way less buggy now and when not on console in my case. It's not even grindy because grind implies there's something to do. I really fail to see any of the redeeming qualities any reviewers mention. It is a walking simulator where the zombies are pylons and there's a useless hunger and thirst bar the game itself seems to forget it has. Luckily there's no spoilers here because...despite being told there's a story...you'd never know because you're too busy dying to everything that isn't a zombie or enemy and very seldom another player. The games tries to flood you with mechanics that don't really function outside of themselves or interact with the others making it a mile wide millimeter deep kind of game. If this had been as high profile as Cyberpunk, Bohemia would be fanless and bankrupt, ONLY because DayZ wasn't as huge and because Bohemia does so much more with Arma are they even still around after this one.

    Congrats to Bohemia on buying so many bot accounts though. "Haters gonna hate" should be a banned phrase on metacritic cuz they're all bots    … Expand

    i have played quite some crap games but dayz just bounced into my top 3.
    - Toxic
    - Horrible - Crappy combat and loot system If you want to be punished hire a mistress dont waste your money on this game, the experience is the same but the mistress at least is honist what she will do to you..this game is a cash grab just well a horrible experience. Played a few hours and my opinion    i have played quite some crap games but dayz just bounced into my top 3.

    Für mich ein mega Spiel und das über 10 Jahre. Es hatte Höhen und Tiefen aber Spaß hat es immer gemacht.

    Купил игру еще во времена альфа теста, по скольку играл еще в Day Z Mod. По началу все нравилось, но по мере наполнения игры вещами и возможностями оптимизация сильно ухудшалась. Я как обладатель далеко не мощного железа бросил играть так как FPS стремилось все ниже и ниже. Прошло время и я услышал что игра вышла в релиз и решил попробовать как ее там оптимизировали.     the game is hard, has many shortcomings, but it is interesting to play, learn the gameplay and mechanics, will appeal to people who like to overcome difficulties, and also think with their heads. 300 hours of play 7/10

Jumping is worse than nothing. 20 minute and you starve to death, but no worries, there aren't any food (or anything) anywhere anyway. When you character gets sick (a couple of minutes without proper clothing), it sneezes and LAUGHING!

    Oh, and what zombies are we talking about? Those 3-4 you cross path with time to time?

    GUI is beyond ridiculous. It is like an alpha version of something. Completely unintuitive and there aren't ANY hints and explanations for what is what.

    If you ever played Project Zomboid (which is still a beta game), this game offers about 1% of it at best.

    Avoid it but you won't, because you have no other options to play an online zombie survival game.    … Expand

    DayZ will get your blood pumping, no doubt about that, but the QoL is terrible and the game punishes you in ways that add nothing to the experience. Updates seem random and tend to make things more annoying just for the sake of annoyingness.     Ein Survival Spiel, dessen Spielmechaniken nicht gut ausgearbeitet sind. Das Spiel verkommt zu einer Laufsimulation, während die Survivalelemente, die eigentlich Kernaspekte sein sollten, in den Hintergrund geraten. Sehr viel ungenutzte Potenzial und technische Mängel mindern zusätzlich die Motivation das Spiel überhaupt zu starten (3/10).

    So this game is really good keep in minds only like 6 people working on this game so ofc it have slow updates but it is still really good game those who give 0 never played it tbh one of the best survival games i played i love reallistic survival like this one so it is 10/10 for sure.

    Игра плоха как и со стороны геймплея так и с технической стороны. Игра вышла в 2013 году а у неё до сих пор куча проблем одна из них это пинг, даже если у вас на сервере пинг 100 это низкий. То все равно у вас враги-боты будут передвигаться с тормозами атаковать также баговано. В игре делать просто нечего карта огромная но она просто пустая, игроков можно встретить очень редко.     Fantastic premise, unheard-of level of hype, great development manpower...all for nothing because of poor management and feature creep. Enfusion engine killed this game, and it will never reach the height of its promised glory. Shame, just shame. I've watched its journey since 2012 and up until now - I just don't want to do that anymore.

    Very good game and lesson to understand that people are dumb. Fans asked to play it early access cuz they didn't want to wait for it, bohemia listened and then fans review it as 0/10 because of bugs. Nice.

    This game is the best! I really enjoy the gameplay and the atmosphere and the survival but I think the amount of food is totally not good, gotta find more food and drinks.

    O jogo é muito bugado, os zumbis são retardados demais por que não mias lentos? os arbustos que seguram balas, a falta de alguns conteúdos muito uteis como carregar um corpo, ajudaria muito.. enquanto mais melhor, mas eu gosto do jogo, me julguem.. (eu penso em jogar muito tempo e virar um pro player como tem muitos por ai esse jogo é pra ser jogado muito pra poder aproveitar tudo)

    It's bad enough that the game is unfinished and buggy, but it also ships with Battleye. Which I did not know when I wanted to try it out. So, here's what happens:
    1) I get the game during the free weekend, to try.
    2) I start the game, and get a message regarding Battleye. Some of the wording seemed very, very odd, so I decline. 3) It states the game "will not start" due to me declining,    It's bad enough that the game is unfinished and buggy, but it also ships with Battleye. Which I did not know when I wanted to try it out. So, here's what happens:
    1) I get the game during the free weekend, to try.
    2) I start the game, and get a message regarding Battleye. Some of the wording seemed very, very odd, so I decline.
    3) It states the game "will not start" due to me declining, so I investigate Battleye a bit.
    4) The game starts anyway, and crashes directly after the main menu.
    5) My system reports 'system files being accessed'. Turns out Battleye tries to access system files, as well as practically everything else.
    6) PiHole reports HUGE amounts of data from my computer to the internet being blocked. So, score one for PiHole.
    7) I uninstall DayZ from Steam.
    8) I manually kill the Battleye service, and delete the files it created without my permission. This gives an error on the next startup, but at least it's gone.

    never seen a game that bad for 35 dollar you have a non finished product with lot of bug, and outdated graphics. Also in less than 20 minutes you die because you are hungry or thirsty lmfao, is that suppose to be realisitc ?

    Dayz. A difficult game to talk about. Many guys like and many not. Yes it took 5 years to 1.0 and is still long not finshed. But i think it was a great game. Many said it has so much bugs, but i must say i liked it with the bugs more than now, there were so much usefull bugs like run on a mountain if you hold g. The clone army or the lots of duping glitches. There are some bugs which wasDayz. A difficult game to talk about. Many guys like and many not. Yes it took 5 years to 1.0 and is still long not finshed. But i think it was a great game. Many said it has so much bugs, but i must say i liked it with the bugs more than now, there were so much usefull bugs like run on a mountain if you hold g. The clone army or the lots of duping glitches. There are some bugs which was not so funny like walking on a skyscraper and die randomly. But i still played the game. I have now nearlly 3000 hours and had many funny moments with my crew there. And i found new people in this game and that even though we were bandits the most of the time. For us it was a great tactic shooter. I know normally its a survival game but survival is boring. For us are the fights the best part of the game. It was not a boring fight like in CoD or other shooter where you kill for points and unlocking something. Here i had sometimes shaky hands and a strong heartbeat. Some fights were going around a hour. It was fun so much ways to kill some people. That is the funny part of the game. Spot people make an plan how you and your crew will kill them. Take position and wait on the moment he is somewhere open or somewhere you can hit him good. And than kill them. The sniping were fun aswell. Sometimes we shoot around 800 and 1000 meters. And i know the times were no rangefinder was in game or rangefinder was broken again and you had to find out the distance with a map like iZurvive and measure manually the distance. And the weapons had a nice sound. The version withut the zombies were my favorite version, because you could concentrate on fighting. I like Dayz more without the zombies and if you ask me i liked the older versions more than the new one. More loot and more weapons and other things at a military. I know at the beginning times where you was at balota airfield tents and you found around 5 M4s. Yeah at the beginning there was a big tent city at balota. It was nice. And i remember the time where you could made the big scope on the mosin and the knife in front of it where you look like a lightning rod. Or at the times where the cars got no damage or where you could drive underwater and you were driving to the prison island underwater. With a bit of luck you hit the island. Best times ever. Never had such a great time in a game. You see a lot of the great moments were because of the bugs. Escapre from Tarkov is near this feeling but it is not the same feeling. One things which is better than at beginning is the graphic. I give them 10 points because i had a great time with it but for know the dayz time is over for me. Maybe i will play it again at a later time to get that nostalgia.… Expand
