This is one of the best games I've ever played, very underrated by critics for some reason.

The atmosphere, the gameplay and the story of this game are all at very high level.

PC version of the game is very good optimized and I could play it on high settings in 60 fps on old GTX970 card with i7 CPU and the game has very good graphics.

There's millions of fans out there who want this game and millions of potential new fans, who would be interested, if
you actually made this game. Not making Days Gone 2 would be biggest mistake in entertainment history ever. Nothing else is even comparable.

Sony is overall amazing company and i have huge respect for it, especially in recent years when you decided to bring your games to PC and by the way, you are doing it better than lots of other companies. You don't use Denuvo, your games always work and if they have bugs or technical problems, you make sure to fix them.

But also, please understand that Horizon 2 was very mid game, i mean, is anyone even playing it anymore? Does anyone even care? Nobody is even talking about that game anymore. Games should be made, so people keep playing them, not for them to collect dust on shelves, just for some fanboys to say that they have the sequel too, even tho they never play it. God of War 2 was better, but let's face it, also mid. At the end of the day, it was pretty much same thing all over again as the first game. I'm not hating, but it wasn't anything phenomenal. So i'm asking seriously, what's next?

Your only guaranteed hit is right now Spider-Man 2. This one will sell easy 20 million+. But other than that, you have nothing. I mean, you just keep making Horizon and God of War sequels endlessly? Bruh. Thanks to Days Gone PC release, there are so many new fans who want sequel to that game. This game got so much deserved respect after the PC release.

So why Days Gone? you might ask. What is so special about this game? Well let me tell you.
Days Gone has likable main character, if you don't like him, that's your personal issue and has nothing to do with him. Graphically, days gone is phenomenal, i could drive around the map for hours and enjoy these fantastic weather effects. ONLY game that does it equally good, is Red Dead Redemption 2.
Now, bike mechanics and upgrading. I know some people hated it (also personal issue btw), but i love that system. Planning out the routes, before you start driving, making sure you have enough gas in your bike. Taking gas from actual gas stations (first game to ever do that) is amazing. This is exactly what survival game needs. I'm not saying every game needs stuff like that, i'm fine that i can drive endlessly in GTA, but in Days Gone, it's cool. Story, while i agree it keeps going for too long, is actually solid. It's not bad. All the mistakes could be fixed in sequel anyway. Map is very well designed, all the houses and buildings that you can explore, broken bridges, that small city area and so on. Everything has this perfect post-apocalyptic feeling. Hordes is amazing addition to this game and there's so much you could do with that in the sequel. Anyone who says that Days Gone is just another generic zombie game, has no idea what he/she is talking about. It's the BEST open-world zombie game ever made. Of course there could be argument, that Days Gone simply isn't the most mainstream game ever made, but in my opinion it's popular enough. Not everything needs to be Spider-Man. Even Alan Wake (huge fan btw) isn't as popular as Days Gone and even that game is getting a sequel.

What could/should you do with the sequel?
You could make it optional co-op, make both Sarah and Deacon playable in co-op. Make them go into big city to explore what's left of humanity, make them find out what has happened with rest of the world. Make them meet more survivors. Extend bike mechanics to boats, so you have to make sure you have enough gas canisters with you, before you go to sea. There could be mutated sharks and other sea creatures. Expand swimming/diving and so on...

There is no other AAA open-world Zombie/survival game like Days Gone. NONE. This is the only game. Dying Light was decent game, but it's not even the same level, Days Gone is so much deeper and more complex. Dying Light 2 was awful. And if you really don't care about that game, just sell the rights to someone else, so someone else can make this masterpiece of a sequel. Sequel that fans actually want and are actually asking for. Thanks for reading.

The graphics are beautiful, with stunning landscapes and detailed character models that bring the world to life. The sound design is also excellent, with a fantastic soundtrack and convincing sound effects that will have you on the edge of your seat.

The gameplay is a mixture of action, stealth, and survival, with an emphasis on resource management and decision-making. The combat is intense and requires careful planning, and the stealth mechanics are well implemented and offer a different approach to the game.

The story is well written, with strong character development and an engaging plot that will keep you invested from start to finish. The voice acting is also top-notch, with excellent performances from the cast that bring the characters to life.

In conclusion, Days Gone is a must-play for fans of open-world action games. It offers a unique take on the post-apocalyptic genre and is a true testament to the developers' attention to detail and commitment to quality. If you're looking for a game that will keep you entertained for hours on end, look no further than Days Gone.

Don't listen to critic reviews (some of them at least) made by people who have spent less than 2 hours playing the game.
One of the main "flaws" those critics pointed out is that the game starts out a bit slowly (these same critics give Death Stranding a 100 even though it takes 6-10 hours for the game to start out).
But enough of this crap, Days Gone is a very good open world zombie

The gameplay does get repetetive but once again I ask you.. which open world gameplay doesn't get repetetive?
You have the fast travel option but anybody who has played the game probably never uses it because it's just so satisfying driving your bike around and upgrading it.
The zombie hordes are the cherry on top of this game.

Days Gone for PC is by far the best way to play with none of the PS4 limitations hamstringing it. I honestly wasn't expecting much but I can honestly say with 20 years of gaming under my belt this is one of the best games I've ever played and thats with the likes of the God of War reboot, Metal Gear Solid, Mass Effect, Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2, The Last of Us (not the sequel), etc forDays Gone for PC is by far the best way to play with none of the PS4 limitations hamstringing it. Story, Missions & Characters:
Most notably the story is extremely good for those of you actually willing to listen to it, the side missions also tie into the main story in a limited way as well which is very pleasing to see devs on a limited budget attempt such things, voice acting is top notch as well and without saying too much there are certain characters you will want to do well for. Outside of the main story you can augment it by finding and listening to "NERO" recordings scattered in the world and at NERO outposts, theres a lot to like here. The only thing I'd say about side missions is that while they also fed some interesting story elements the missions themselves felt a little too much like busy work too often for my liking I'd rather have seen fewer side content missions that were more well structured to tie into the story more. Characters in the game are also all very good, one or two did feel a little under developed with no way of intereacting with them and getting to know them better outside of the missions and cutscenes. The one cardinal sin Bend have made though is that the puppy you end up getting for another character you can give toys to and hear the lil puppy play with his squeaky toy but you can't play or pet the puppy! Bad Bend, bad!

    Gameplay:
Gameplay is fun with a slight twist on ideas it borrows from other games. Horde hunting is great presenting you with multiple ways to do them, the stealth mechanics are functional but a little basic with one of the most devastating stealth weapons being... a rock. Said rock has a very wide area you can lure hapless NPCs to their demise and as you level up even use the rock to stun weaker enemies which is a pretty awesome twist on the humble rock, just tone down that hear distance for it Bend in a Days Gone sequel so its not so OP ;o) Game mechanics are also quite simple but also surprisingly in-depth where needed, such as how you accomplish your goal. You can wade in through the front door guns blazing, look for a back entrance, use stealth and misdirection or just set up traps and watch with glee as they do the dirty work for you. The only bad thing really with the gameplay is how often you'll get murked while riding on your bike, the mechanic itself is a cool idea, but the game past a certain point just tries it too often in the end and it gets a bit annoying. The trade system in the game is also basic but functional however it would have made sense to be able to buy some components in limited quantities to make things with.

One of the stand out things about Days Gone is your motorbike, theres a lot of customisation you can do to it and the changes you make really do impact things like handling I would have liked to see more done here, such as more options for handlebars, the seat, and fenders

    Stability & Bugs:
During my playthrough I had and saw a fair few bugs ranging from things getting stuck in the game world to dodgy physics and spawning issues. None of these things are particularly detrimental nor do they really take away from the enjoyment but I experienced enough to be able to easily tell the game could perhaps do with another patch to iron some more of the bugs out. I did not encounter any serious bugs and the bugs I did experience or see were funny rather than game breaking.

    Weapons:
Weapons in Days Gone are good covering any job you might need to get done I settled on a combination of "Lil Stubby" and an assault rifle with my special weapon being a crossbow or silenced sniper rifle. The only time this changed is when I went horde hunting and switched my sniper rifle for an LMG. Throwable weapons are a good mix too including the likes of pipe bombs, grenades, molotovs, etc and the game even has things like land mines, sticky bombs, and remote control bombs to really cause some havock.

In closing there is far more to like here than not to but unless I simply missed them or am the victim unbeknown to me of some bugs there are some things in the game that you seemingly can't craft like the land mines I only found a handful of them during my entire playthrough.

How Days Gone does not yet have a sequel announced boggles the mind while The Last of Us has been greenlit for a remake which will make it a THIRD time retreading old ground. I want a Days Gone 2.

Overall, I was impressed. That game left a lasting after-taste in my mouth, a mix of sweet / sour / sad feelings, but great and remembering. Graphics are astonishing, character development was great, the feel of traveling on the road was superb, I almost put a brick of sh*t when encountering a horde for the first time :) I definitely recommend this game to fans of the genre.

Now about things I was not happy with:
    - missions are very similar and boring, just like clearing the camps. Interesting to do it once or twice, but 40-ice not so. The missions do not differ much - it's just go from point A to point B and grab something / kill something.
    - RPG part is underdeveloped, by the end you master everything so replayability is close to 0.
    - control sometimes give weird reactions, like instead of making a dodge-roll jumping forward to the enemy to meet a hail of bullets.
    - some bugs closer to the last missions may force you to restart a checkpoint.

    Overall, I give it 9 of 10.

It's great, I love it. At max setting everything looks crisp and clean. Although not the pinnacle of graphic design, it does enough to keep you immersed in the world.

    Sound: it's fine.

UI: Like I stated in the graphics tab the UI is generally easy to use. My only problem was the finicky weapon wheel. Crafting from the weapon wheel can be annoying thanks to the sub menu per item. If you are using a controller it can be difficult to keep the joystick on the object you are trying to craft. Not a big deal just a tad frustrating sometimes.

Combat: Quite smooth really. At first I thought the gunplay was kinda crap but that was only because I didn't put many skill points in but once i did it got a little more enjoyable, especially with the focus shot (pretty much bullet time).

The World: Very beautiful. The rolling hills and lush forests of Oregon comes across as a beautiful backdrop for a Zombie outbreak. I know I know, they are freakers, but come on....

Characters: Though not on the same level as say Mass Effect, Days Gone still boasts a cast of interesting individuals as well as a protagonist that checks all the right boxes but might come across as a little disingenuous sometimes, and angry all the time (but that was kind of the point i think)

Gameplay: Where the game shines imo. Upgrading your bike and earning credits from each camp has a nice loop to it. I found myself constantly getting sidetracked to be able to afford better weapons and parts for my bike as well as leveling up Deacon St. John (the protagonist) as often as I could.

All in all a great game to get lost in, especially if your like me. Don't get me wrong, Mass Effect is probably my favorite series ever but I picked this game over The ME Remasters because I haven't already played Days Gone 6,467 times yet. :-)

-I'm all for exploring...but you shouldn't have to refill your tank of gas every mile and a half (at least at first).
-Some seemingly major plot points seemed rushed/abandoned. I would have loved to see more of Kouri...or maybe when Skizzo went back to Lost Lake..maybe see Sarah interact with Boozer or Rikki some more?...Stuff like that.
-They obviously need to patch the game more...npcs would vanish...rooms wouldn't load in right...but that's to be expected and didn't hurt the experience much!
-Every interaction when you save someone is the same

    Pros:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Sam Witwer is great any role he gets so I knew he'd be fantastic in this (and he was)
-The world looks great and doesn't seem like a generic zombie open world game at all. Great effects/photo mode, too
-The combat is good (and can be unpredictable..which I appreciate). Has some nice variety, too
-The supporting characters (especially Boozer and Ricki) were great
-Has a real Last of Us feel for looting/scavenging.
-Love that it’s based in Oregon...they obviously put a lot work/care into it, as well.
-The challenges are a lot of fun...good practice, too. Thumbs up for letting you play with different characters!

The main thing that held this game back was they skipped past 2-3 big scenes.

That and the ending wasn’t anything special (unless there’s a sequel) and it was have been nice to send off Kouri/O’brian/Lisa on better notes.

With that said...it’s a FUN experience with endearing characters in a setting I love.

This game is a successful combination of games like FAR CRY along with Dying light.

A perfect porting for a very nice game. I really enjoy it! I can easily run this game in 4K with everything on ultra with a 2080Ti. Flawless frame rate and no bugs or stuttering. This is the way how make a great game on PC. Just a couple of thing, 3D sound and HDR are superb here!

An excellent PC port of the once playstation exclusive Days Gone. I'm thoroughly enjoying this game, with it's beautiful and bleek post apocalyptic setting with the tension of facing hordes of "zombies". Thanks Sony, keep those exclusives coming to Steam!

The story isn't incredible but the game as some of the best writing and dialogues out there. Every character in this game is believable. Every dialogues is full of life and the actors who plays deacon should be praised as much as Roger Clark.

The gunplay is more than good enough, it actually it feels like red dead, so if you didn't liked the gameplay of red dead 2 you will not like the gameplay of days gone.

I didn't had any bugs in the game and i finished it at 100%, not a single crash, no issues at all.

This game is as good as any other triple a if not better. This game blew me away and was the best experience i had in a game since red dead. Cyberpunk was trash, death stranding was really good but the gameplay was painful.

It’s not too common to see Unreal Engine 4 doing big open worlds without major performance or optimization issues, but Days Gone manages to present a decently sized world, with nice looking graphics and environments, and it runs pretty well.

Mouse input feels good enough, no issues for me, despite some people experiencing some issues with a small “mouse deadzone”, I play at 1600 DPI and 0.12 in game sensitivity, and had zero issues aiming my headshots.

Keybinds are very customizable and left handed friendly (I'm lefty and I can use arrow keys, and all the keys nearby, including Numpad keys). There's also a "walk" toggle key, which so many games lack these days, and we can make sprint and aim either hold or toggle, also very good. There's also the option to change QTEs from quick tap to hold, also a welcome feature for keyboard users.

Performance is great on my Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 Ti, even at 150% Scale, Very High Settings, getting like 70-80 FPS, and no particular stutters so far that I have noticed. The in game frame-rate limiter isn't the greatest, that's a common thing to see in games, but Rivatuner or NV Control Panel can improve that, in case you want to set an FPS cap.

I have read (and seen) that the resolution scale the game uses can actually degrade image quality the higher we go, so I ended up switching to 1620 DSR downsampling.

I could also notice some ghosting / trails on the motorcycle’s wheels, due to TAA probably, but it’s not too distracting. Probably something to look into for a future patch, for sure.

The characters are well animated and only in rare occasions I noticed some awkwardness in certain cutscenes; overall, they did a decent job with this, I reckon. Their models are quite detailed too, with nice textures and skin shading, and even a nice sweat effect on them, or also used when they bleed or it’s raining, very nice indeed.

Speaking of characters, I liked most of them except the ones that were supposed to be hated for obvious reasons.
Witwer’s performance as Deacon was nice, probably resembling him a bit too much at times, haha, obviously since they scanned his face and all, but it’s just him, his mannerisms and all, I thought it was funny to see him so accurately in the game.

The story I also liked it, even though this is a theme very used in other games, especially in “zombie” games, but I think the game dealt with the matter quite well.
By the end of the game I felt quite a lot was accomplished by the main character and his allies, but of course we all know this game has a, somewhat, open ending and yeah I could pretty much see a sequel here, there’s enough material and, honestly, it’d be a shame if this world and game do not get a proper sequel, I do understand now how all the console players who’ve been asking for a sequel feel, it's not a bad game, really, it's not the greatest of all time, but it's not bad either, it's enjoyable.

All in all, don’t want to extend this review too much, I enjoyed the game quite a lot, the motorcycle is awesome, handles pretty damn well with keyboard and mouse, honestly, way better than in most games, where normally a controller is preferred, but here it was exceptionally good with the keyboard, a good amount of inertia and weight to it, so it felt just right.

Compared to Horizon Zero Dawn, which had a disastrous PC launch, with many issues and crashes for a huge part of the player base, Days Gone’s release has been amazingly smooth so…good job, Bend Studio, this is how you launch on PC a port from a console game.

Environment - It's atmosphere and weather effects are beautiful and aren't just for show, you see a major influence in the behavior and number of enemies during rain and snow storms. The world itself is rich and lush, it really carries this sense of being abandoned by mankind for two years when the story itself starts.

Voice Acting - What can I say besides well done to the people that did the acting for these characters. You can very much hear and tell what a character is feeling or going through just from the tone in their voice alone, even if their face remains calm. It could be better in some places with maybe a few more diverse lines of dialogue that gets repetitive later in the game because its recycled for raiding camps and doing other world objectives but other than that the voice acting itself is incredibly well done.

AI - A lot of people complain about the AI but honestly its up there. Enemies will dodge and weave to get closer to you, take cover, flank and even the Horde will split into two or three different groups to try and box you in or will spread out along a ridge to try and block off escape routes. If you think that's bad AI, go back to playing Cyberpunk 2077 where they just walk into walls.

Gameplay - This is probably the one spot I am iffy on. The missions can get very repetitive at times, go here and kill this or retrieve this. But its not entirely bad. If you just hop off your bike and go in shooting every time, that is on you for only utilizing one way to play when there's an unlimited amount of ways you can do it to keep it from feeling repetitive. Instead of going in shooting you can use stealth and take everyone out, you can lure in Freakers to an enemy camp and let them wipe them out, etc. It can feel fresh if you WANT it to. Guns feel pretty satisfying to shoot as well, though I will not be afraid to admit that the enemies feel a bit bullet spongey with body shots but not to the point that it feels unfair to fight them.

Narrative - Personally, I love the story of Days Gone. Its unpredictable at times, keeps from repeating itself too much and adds life to its characters. This seems to be a trait all of Sony's games have been able to accomplish and its well welcomed in my eyes. It can be a bit cheesy every now and then but it can also be upsetting, funny, shocking, just a wide array of emotions they're able to hit. Music comes in at the perfect time to add depth and meaning to a moment that just ties it together perfectly.

Bugs - This will be my least favorite part, obviously. While the PC port came in with nowhere near the amount of bugs the PS4 release had, there sometimes are still issues. Mostly it pertains to the dialogue however, with lines coming in back to back or every now and then out of order. A character talking to you will say they will talk later but if you already have a certain objective done by then they'll call back in right after and start talking. It just gets confusing at times and frustrating in others. Only once during my entire playthrough of the game did I run into a visual glitch inside of a building where none of the furniture or interior rendered so I was running into invisible objects, though a quick save and restart of the game did fix it. But it is the main reason I had to knock off a point. Note there may be others but this is all that I ran into during my full playthrough.

My specs - I'm running on a GF65 Thin with NVIDIA 1660ti, I7 2.6ghz CPU, 16gb RAM, 64 bit OS and am able to run at maxed out setting with no lag at all for those wondering if their PC can handle it, there's a reference point. Sony and Bend Studios did an amazing job porting this game over and optimizing it, for this I can not congratulate them enough.

End note : The game is absolutely worth it. You WILL get your money's worth and for 50 dollars you receive 50+ hours of gameplay and story if you take your time. The game is slow burning and takes time to get to its best parts but it's absolutely worth it when you get there. I really don't think many of these critics put in the time to get to those points and experience them first hand which I find is a major problem with the industry. Honestly it's almost like after initial reviews when the game first came out, many of which never mentioned the Horde mechanic, they went and read about it or watched a video instead of experiencing it first hand. Fast paced games usually get higher scored and those that take 8 or 10 hours to really get to see what it has to offer get lower scores, this game being a shining example. If you like TLOU and Far Cry, try combining those two and you have Days Gone would be my best explanation to someone who has never heard of it. Discard what some of these critics say and treat yourself to an amazing story and game.

the emotional core of this game is incredible strong - so strong, in fact, that it carried me through the open world slog and routine of clearing camps and hunting freakers for bounty in the beginning, before the game got to the good stuff. whenever I got bored I would just hit the road and drive just for fun, the same way I did in RDR2 and the Witcher 3 and even Cyberpunk. yes, it's partly due to the beautiful world and graphics and all the effort put into the immersion, but those things can only keep your attention so long before you start to treat the game as a chore (hello, latest Assasin's Creeds). you need a very strong foundation.

and Deacon IS that foundation. the man, however stereotypical he may seem at the first glance, carries the whole game on his shoulder. other cast members are mostly great too (ESPECIALLY Booser and Sarah), but they come and go while Deacon is always there, narrating almost every moment of the game in his mumbly, painfully strained voice. I though it would get too old very soon, but just as you start to think that Deacon talks maybe a little too much, the game throws you into unreasonably wholsesome and sweet flashbacks, and a potentially irritating protagonist quirk suddenly becomes a marker of his whole character development. to say more would be a spoiler.

the other thing that keeps you from skipping on exploring the open world and searching for resources are, of course, the hordes. if you think you can get by without crafting and managing your supplies, think again. the best case scenario - you're clearing out the nests and suddely find out you don't have enough molotov for the last one and you're out of kerosene to make a new batch. the worse case - the same happens when you've just caught an eye of about a hundred of freakers in the middle of a road. so help you God. I don't remember the last time I've actively rode around the map entering every house praying to find at least some piece of resources - maybe, just one styrofoam cup or a rag - because I've just spent almost everything I've head to make crazy crows stop peckng poor Deacon and it's already 8 o'clock.

I would say the only thing I personally missed from the experince was in-game music, like a radio of some kind. I understand the concerns about ruining the atmosphere in some instances, but, in my opinion, it would help the simple travel from A to B feel a lot more engaging. and it's not like there is no way to justify a radio in the world of the game - Copeland already has one, so why not play a tune from time to time, when things are calm and slow? maybe something to consider for the sequel, if it ever comes (which it most certainly should do).

Although the Days Gone release was rocky at best, with a plethora of technical bugs, all of those have been ironed out for the PC and what is left is a fantastic action adventure video game offering 50+ hours of gameplay. Do not let the critic review score fool you, this game is easily a 9/10. Here's why:

    Presentation:
Outstanding. Ultrawide and high FPS support. A multitude of graphical tweaks (which can be tuned without restarting the game), and audio is second to none. I had no hitches throughout my playthrough and was often in awe of the lighting effects, dynamic weather, and overall extreme attention to detail.

    Gameplay:
Diverse and fun. Centered around combat, Days Gone gives you the freedom to approach these situations how you choose. The spectrum between stealth and head on combat is wide, and all options are suspenseful, adaptive, and, above all, extremely fun. Whether via melee or ranged weapons, the impacts are truly felt. Bend Studios has managed to make the best punchy and weighty feeling combat that I've ever played. Not only that, but by the diversity of how you approach situations, the game has immense replay value.

    Story:
I do not understand the criticisms of this game's story. I was completely attached to the characters, and I found the underlying themes, especially those related to Deacon's character development, very impactful. The cinematics and acting therein had me on the edge of my seat. Extremely compelling story / characters.

    Critiques:
On it's own, Days Gone is in my books, a game that should be in everyone's collection. It actually saddens me that I doubt this game will be considered a mainstream classic. However, if I suppose a Days Gone 2 were to be made, there are some quality of life improvements for the gameplay that could be made. Here are some which account for why I didn't give this game a perfect score:

    1) More dynamic inventory system, especially in consideration to what you can store on your motorcycle (wish I could store crafting supplies).
    2) Add crafting ingredient merchants, or just make more things purchasable
    3) Remove radio chatter during combat
    4) Allow side quests to be radio communicated to you, rather than making you travel back to the quest giver to receive the quest.
    5) Remove any quest that forces you to walk with a NPC and have a conversation. I hate that. I don't understand why it wouldn't just be a cutscene.

This game is absolutely amazing! *Minor Spoilers Ahead* From the writing to the gameplay this title is absolutely a masterpiece and against Sony's judgment it 100% needs a sequel. Hat's off to Bend Studios for making this Mona Lisa level masterpiece of a game, From the story to the gameplay, everything is written and executed so well from the very beginning to the very end. Throughout the story, I countlessly ran into moments where I thought I knew exactly what's gonna happen and it threw it all out the window with such amazing twists. Each character from the beginning left a huge impression on me, with such strong voice actors and believably real emotional dialogue all performed to perfection, I was attached to Deacon and his story about trying to find his wife Sarah from the very beginning. From the flashbacks of those picture-perfect moments they shared throughout their relationship before the epidemic to the connection, Sarah shared through dialogue and physical cues to Deacon I found myself teary-eyed more with this game's story than I have with any other AAA title. When it came to gameplay none of the mission felt repetitive or used as filler and when dealing with 100's of enemies on screen at one time the intensity brought on by the music gave me that much more satisfaction to see that last enemy fall lifeless to the ground, being able to mow them down wasn't always easy and often times required creativity early game was never the less was still very satisfying. One thing that did not go unnoticed was the massive attention to detail this game presented from the snow building up on corpses to the sound of gas sloshing around in your motorcycle's tank depending on how full/empty it was. Some other things that did not go unnoticed were a few minor bugs late into the game I ran into like objects such as chairs and tables not rendering in one of the cutscenes in a medical tent at one of the later settlements you discover, a bunker not rendering once a hatch was opened in one of the many camps your fight through and the floor not rendering in on my final "boss fight", all of this I attribute to being a side effect from porting a game to PC as this game was initially released on April 26, 2019, for the PS4 as an exclusive. This stuff I'm sure will be patched in the coming months. Never the less it was nothing that wasn't fixed with a simple reload of a recent save. I can also forgive the lack of some small QoL changes such as auto looting corpses and more depth to the skill tree and weapon variety because of the aforementioned release date, granted there are already quite a few weapons but when it came to what the enemy dropped weapons it seemed almost every enemy had the same gun the game's version of an AK-47 with a few exceptions and there isn't much variety in weapon quality with there being 5 levels of weapon quality from poor to mil-spec and all functioning identically the same with some minor stat variations to stats I almost always ran into poor quality guns. Lastly, there were a few early-game moments I felt were missed opportunities to add variety to the game where for example when prying open the trunk of a car near the beginning of the game an infected child called a "Newt" jumps out and attacks you which was a great idea to introduce you to one of the few different infected types and gave me a good jump out of my seat, however, this was something I would not run into again through the entire game even after opening up hundreds of car trunks it only served to introduce the player to the creature that one time and not used as a possible event throughout the rest of the game, needless to say, I still prepared myself before opening any trunk for the possibility that it could happen again. My final message is to Sony, with such a rich atmosphere and tone set by the lore and encounters built through the hard work of everyone on that end screen of credits, leaving the ending on such a cliff hanger many of the characters stories only told as a single chapter in a collection of books does not do this game justice nor does it do those very same people justice, THIS GAME DESERVES, NO IT NEEDS A SEQUAL!

All these games fall under the same category of these big open world sandbox games.
Yet it was Days gone who kept me glued to screen for a week stright, unlike ubisoft games that took me solid 8 months to drag to end.

Gunplay feel amazing, sounding is rich and being chased by the horde of 500 swarmers is a truely breathtaking experience.
I fell in love with bike handling on sight, crusing through Oregon at irl midnight is such a vibe.
I also liked crafting, and survival elements and world lore in general.
Pc port is great, unlike Horizon's one.Game runs great.144 frames 1440p with a game looking this good is truely PCMR experience.
I encountered only minor bugs, typical for every game

Nevertheless Days Gone needed a bit of more love and work.
It lacks interactions at camps and out in the S h i t,interesting side quests and dialogues.Story needs a bit of lifting too.
All of that can be improved in sequel tho.The core is there.
I really hope Sony will give Days Gone 2 green light and I am looking forward to play more amazing Sony Studios games

good game.... the game is great. It lacks sharper plot twists. For example, a base under an electric fence could be used as a haven for an attack, which would create a more interesting plot. I was blown away by the world design of this game and was hooked from the very first hour. Days gone has a great progression system. Some of the best gameplay features of this game unlocks after some 30 hours or so in the story.
I was particularly invested in the story of protagonist deacon St John. The story might not be as gripping as last of us or witcher 3's but this story is pretty good in itself.

My one gripe would be that the side quests feel a bit repetitive, it mostly ends up being a fetch quest or rescue mission wherein you have to take a group of marauders before freeing the captured target.

A bit more variety would've been nice.

This game in my opinion would have been 10/10 if it had quests with multiple outcomes depending upon how you go at it. But that's wishful thinking. Speaking of wishful thinking, I really wish someday they might make a sequel for days gone. The World and horde mechanics itself are worth the price.

Great port of a great title. Zombie games are all around us, but Bend Studio managed to squeeze every last drop out of this worn out setting. Everything is well-designed and polished in Days Gone – the believable world and characters in it, the distinct post-apocalyptic aura, the crafting, the thrilling combat and spectacular encounters with bloodthirsty hordes. In addition, this version is well-optimized and runs smoothly on a mid-range PC. [08/2021, p.48]

The PC version of Days Gone manages to be a superior experience. More polished and better performing than the original on PS4. It doesn't escape its sins however – a story with an uneven pace associated with repetitive and sometimes unnecessary mechanics. The game would benefit if some mechanics were simplified, but it is still a very solid option for those who like open worlds, motorcycles and zombies.

For my money, Days Gone remains one of the absolute best open-world games on the market, and now more people will have the opportunity to try it out for themselves as it puts its best foot forward. That’s something worth celebrating, I think.
