    Dark Quest 4 delivers a nostalgic and enjoyable turn-based dungeon crawler experience with handcrafted levels, strategic combat, and a simple yet engaging progression system, although its story is minimal, animations are sparse, and level variety is limited; the editor and community-created dungeons extend its longevity, making it a solid pick for newcomers and fans of light strategy games.

    The Dark Quest series was first released in 2015 and is now in its fourth installment. The dungeon crawler, which is based on the rules of a board game, hides more than it seems. Underneath its modest exterior, it hides tactical depth, but, unfortunately, also some bugs that make the gameplay unpleasant.

    Dark Quest 4 was a lively, immersive experience, with a style of play that kept me coming back for more. If you’re a fan of turn-based action, TTRPGs, and fantasy games, you’ll get a kick out of this title. It’s got a rich single-player mode, an in-depth map builder to help you make your own levels, and a multiplayer mode as well.
