Everyone tends to focus on the ending, but I didn't enjoy rest of the game either. The first trial is okay, but after that it runs out of steam. Trials drag on long after the murderer becomes obvious, the humor seems stale (unless you like random anime references), most characters have no depth to them, and even the new mini-games are boring. Definitely the weakest game in the main series.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Some fun characters, good music and presentation and satisfying gameplay. However, there are a lot of eye roll inducing moments and frustrating situations. The ending might just be one of the most drawn out, obnoxious, fart smelling endings that soured an otherwise strong experience. The ending worked hard to make me not give a **** and move onto something better. Expand

The strongest game in the series in terms of gameplay and visual design, the weakest in terms of overarching narrative. I love Danganronpa, i really do, however to turn a blind eye to the disappointing direction the series has been going is not looking to the reality of the situation at hand.

This is without a doubt, the worst danganronpa game, which in it of itself is still a great game, dont get me wrong. but the game is such a let down in so many ways, it tries to explore new grounds but ends up being

This is without a doubt, the worst danganronpa game, which in it of itself is still a great game, dont get me wrong. but the game is such a let down in so many ways, it tries to explore new grounds but ends up being flat at the end of the day, though i can certaintly appreciate the effort.

The Characters: Danganronpa V3 has some good characters, the problem with the game however its not the characters themselves, but how they are developed, this is the game with the worst character development out of the series, some characters that the game hype you up and are genuinely interesting, the game just disposes of them way too quickly, and characters who are boring, unintersting, the game decides to keep them alive, is a weird decision. Danganronpa V3 has 4-5 excellent characters that are perfectly developed, but it has almost the rest of the cast poorly developed, which is a let down compared to what we got on Danganronpa 1 and 2.

Character Design: Amazing BUT, with danganronpa v3 there is always a BUT unfortunately, either way, i think the game tries too hard to get their personalities in the clothing, i honestly love the danganronpa v3 designs but if you look at the beta designs for each character some of them are WAY better than the ones we got, because they dont try TOO hard to be something, for some reason Danganronpa V3 just takes the character designs to an uncanny level, where it doesnt seem like a school anymore, losing its sense.

The Gameplay: by far the best danganronpa gameplay, which was to be expected since danganronpa 2 was a huge improvement from Danganronpa 1, it requires more logical thinking, the games are way more fun, way more interactive, it keeps you wanting to play them, rather than being a hassle like in Danganronpa 1 or 2.

The Trials: Danganronpa V3 has the least appealing trials, it starts off AMAZING but it declines so much its ridiculous, there are only 2 cases in this game which i would consider to be Danganronpa 1 Tier of quality, the trials however are not bad by any means, they are just so bland and unintersting compared to the other games, they are even more predictable than in Danganronpa 2.

The Biggest Problem With Danganronpa: the long info dump which is pretty much common sense amongst all of the community and you as a player probably realised that by now after the first 2 games that it is ridiculous the ammount of time and mental fatigue that the huge info dump that the last chapter inflicts, and for no one's surprises, in this game is way worse, the info dump is EVEN LONGER and WAY more boring, but why that is, im going to discuss on the last topic.

Lack Of Creativity and Mastermind: unfortunately they screwed it up REALLY bad in this game, they tried to do something similar to Danganronpa 1 in a way? but why? what good does that do if you are not changing the root of your game? its been the same thing for 3 GAMES, this game has lost its ambition that it had on the first game.

Characters pt2: also the characters match their clothing, they are exaggerated in a ridiculous way, you have a very weird, and highly embarrassing quantity of embarrassing moments, the characters act so unnaturaly, you have a sexist, a weird relationship between a girl who likes to be insulted and one that likes to insult her, that creates this really weird, off putting atmosphere in the game, dont get me wrong, im all for dark humor, but it doesnt land well at all, considering they are, *students*.

Overall: Danganronpa V3 is the most uninspired and not-danganronpa game out of the franchise, it has a great gameplay, the best one, it has a handful of awesome characters and great scenarios and ideas for trials, however Danganronpa V3 fails miserably in the execution, the overbearing and honestly, insulting personalities of some characters make the game just that much worse, it has no room for originality, its just basically everyone acting extra all the time, beating a dead horse, continuing to make the same quirky jokes, the same well, dubious sexual jokes (they are students btw) and all that, the intended way of making a humor and taking the player off the edge of the trial its not reached whatsoever, it ends up putting you off the trial, the game has no creativity for its ending, it uses the same formula that danganronpa 2 used, the vast majority of characters are poorly written, overall is danganronpa v3 recommended? yes. is it as great as the first 2? not by a landslide. does it destroy the series with its ending? Almost.

A duty for all lovers of detective mysteries and other puzzle games. Unfortunately, you need quick reflexes and the ability to survive before something interesting happens. [Issue#288]

Newcomers need not apply, but fans of the Danganronpa series are in for a treat, as the story and characters are among the best we’ve seen, while the gameplay introduces just enough tweaks to keep things interesting.

Danganronpa V3 is not without its flaws. Class trials don’t always pan out and pacing gets in the way at times, but this is still the same Danganronpa fans have grown to love over the years. The wonderful cast of characters and immersive plot coupled with a plethora of endgame options makes this a must-play game for fans and newcomers alike.
