The game is just outdated and isn't the next generation experience I came to expect. Open world games have evolved. It doesn't have the immersion that you would expect, the world doesn't feel alive at all, it is quite empty considering its scope (I know on console there wouldn't be as many people as we see on pc but still) the npc a.i. is really poor and unrealistic. People just run away from any drama and then duck around the corner doing nothing, the police don't make any sense. Npc's do not feel alive, they don't seem to do much at all, the rpg elements feel like action game elements. No one reacts or responds, it just feels so souless. As I have mentioned, open world games have evolved, this sadly hasn't. I haven't even experienced as many bugs as many other users on the as I am using ps4 pro but still there are lots, however that isn't what ruins the game, the world ruins the game. Fallout, skyrim...pretty much all Bethesda games have created more immersive worlds. Gameplay is average Expand

This is not a bad game, it's not perfect, but it's far from bad. There are a lot of bugs, which should be expected from an open world rpg game on launch, and yes there are definitely things that could've been done better. The biggest issue I have with this game are the gameplay mechanics, definitely something that could have used more work during development. The driving took me longer than I liked to get used to, which in a big open world with driving being the fastest way get from one point to another is a big thing, and the gunplay was absolutely not fun. Melee combat was the best part of it for me. But when you've got multiple enemies at a time, most of which are using guns, it's hard to sit back and try to use melee. It's a very buggy, and sometimes rough experience, that definitely could have benefited from some extra development time. And while it's far from the worst game that's ever been made, this is the risk you run when you beg a developer to drop a game that's had multiple delays. All in all it was a fun game, definitely worth $60, hopefully with improvements made through patches, this can be the game we all expected it to be, but still a solid game as is. 8/10 Expand

Night City's inconsistent urban activity and NPC's whereabouts/routes are not able to recreate the atmosphere most open-world city set games manage to provide. In all the futuristic cars, stylish pedestrians and neo lights, there is a feeling of "emptyness". The gameplay diverges from what is expected from an RPG and the gunfights are not as satisfying as they look. The story, although lazily written in some aspects, is interesting, and the player's decisions do have weight on the outcome. The characters aren't "deep" and some of them just feel dull, but most are memorable.
The graphics are gorgeous, especially the lighting, but there are a lot of texture inconsistencies and visual bugs.
Speaking of bugs, it is hard to play a full minute without something being off, whether it be characters clipping through walls, weird movements, late renderings or AI having manic episodes.
Although it would never match its hype, it is still a good addition to 2020's gaming.

I mean, it's just dialogue anyway. Overall, there is plenty of content to complete. It's funny how, now that the game is out, everyone thay complained about the delays are saying they never complained lol. Yeah the bugs are there, because everyone was pressuring then to release the game. I will say, they handled the situation wrong. They should have delayed the game indefinitely instead of delaying, giving a release date and then delaying again. This games hype has been its downfall. I will continue to enjoy the game and for those that don't, you do you. Expand

I know people have bad reviews as of right now for cyberpunk 2077, however, the Witcher 3 had a lot of bugs and was fixed over a period of time. I also want everyone to know that I do not work for CD-Project Red, I am a video game player. The most jarring issue I noticed was the dip in frame rate.

When looking at the characters, I cried at a few of the main missions and side missions. Keanu Reeves was well executed as a story arc. The police could use work but that will probably be fixed with an update. I knew that this game was not all going to be about being

I understand the poor reception, I too have experienced quite a few bugs on PC. However none of them have ruined the game/experience for me. I also think people blew their expectations out of proportion. Cyberpunk, much like the witcher, was always meant to be an RPG above all else. While many fans were seemingly expecting an over the top shooter in the style of call of duty. As an RPG,I understand the poor reception, I too have experienced quite a few bugs on PC. As an RPG, Cyberpunk fully delivers with many choices, skills and other traditional tidbits that add to the replayability of the game. In my experience so far, the game itself has been one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. Night city is beautiful and unlike any world I've ever been in. The story is fantastic, the graphics are phenomenal and I'm enjoying every second of my playthrough. I've waited so long for a true Cyberpunk (first person) experience true to the 80s / retro/synthwave fashion and im FINALLY experiencing it. To that I am forever happy for. It's an old style Action RPG (like Skyrim, a 10 year old game) with a very pleasant visual impact and wonderful setting, Night city is visually beautiful.
After seeing numerous Action RPGs released after Skyrim that introduced new mechanics, I would have expected Cyberpunk to be the same level as the modern RPGs.

in essence it is like an empty shell and inside this shell is missing many things that I have written here:

    - No animation present in item loots.

    - Lootable objects in the game world are not subject to ownership rules, you can take anything without anyone telling you or doing anything.

    - Related to the first point: total lack of physical property boundaries where objects are contained, except for the areas where there are enemies, but that is due to enmity towards people and not from the place where they reside.

    - The only "containers" where you can take items are the crates and lockers. In 2077 probably the sideboards, wardrobes etc. they were not used.

    - Most of the buildings are not explorable. You can only visit two / three floors in buildings that are 100,000 miles tall. The elevators were probably poorly designed in 2077.

    - Economy of Night city is close to non existing. Besides cyberware, implants and mods, there is not really a lot of reason to spend money on anything.

    - No robbery system in the open world. Only in quests.

    - Possibility to change the equipment in combat and crafting. It makes no sense that you can change clothes/weapons or crafting during a fight.

    - Objects and equipment (cyberware, weapons, clothes etc.) do not wear out and do not need to be repaired.

    - Eating too much or too little does not affect the physique (even a simple physical health system like that of red dead redemption 2 was enough).

    - The police don't catch you. It kills you!

    - The skill branch is poorly constructed because you can train skills by having the relative attribute low. For example it doesn't make sense that I can raise quickhacking skills if I have 3 in intelligence just by doing it.

    - The skill branch is poorly constructed because to mount cyberware I need a certain level of attribute, but they are cyber enhancements for a reason right?

    - Objects are placed totally randomly. For example it is possible to find ammunition next to a sandwich stand.

    - No system of upgrading or customization or repair of machines and motorcycles. To repair the car, just leave the car in a street and turn the corner of the street and call it remotely.

    - The levels are related only to our character. No other characters in the game have this characteristic, or at least it is not visible.

    - Badly constructed reputation system. There is no specific reputation for every gang in Night City. The reputation system is just another limitation to installing cyberware and doing some stuff. For what reason?

    - The choice to use specific skills in combat or to play in one way rather than another is not linked to a deep system of enemy characteristics but only to a personal choice, in fact with a simple gun, a lot of healing and a lot of ammunition you can face and kill anyone.

    - There are few worldly activities.

    - NPCs don't have a life of their own, the people of Night City are just hardcovers.

    - Talks with random NPCs absent.

    - Reactions of NPCs are strange.

    - Moral alignment of the character absent.

Let's forget the bugs and just ignore them, let's talk about the gameplay.
1st thing that is so bad it ruins the whole gameplay is the leveling. I shot a half-naked NPC 10 times with a shotgun from a very close distance and he didn't lose almost any HP. Just because he was a bigger level.

Imagine that, you enter a random fight in a city, you shoot a guy from 0.1 m with a shotgun (and he has no armor) so many times you could kill a whole hood, and he doesn't even flinch. WTF is that all about? After a few tries I killed him with grenades and with the help of police, looted his shirt and couldn't equip it because you need to be a lvl 28 to equip the shirt ha ha I mean, what am I a re*ard so I don't know how to wear a shirt? BS, huge BS. This leveling system is completely breaking the immersion. I get it, they wanted to go down that RPG style, but this is just plain bad game design. And so much wasted time for developing it...

Graphics are OK, AC: Valhalla did it better. Melee combat is somewhere in the middle, many other games did it much better. So many empty NPCs around, doesn't even feel like CDPR made this game.. It's more like "GTA Night City with terrible combat and wannabe leveling system".

On the other side, it is an RPG with some story telling, but far away from being the best game out there, not even one of the better games.

Sorry, this game has terrible game desing around leveling system, terrible combat (can't see anything when aiming with rifles), the most terrible game mechanic for vehicle driving ever in the history of games and it keeps on going.
What it does good is story-telling and creating the atmosphere through visuals, but that's it... Again, another hyped game turned out to be a bad game...

This game makes you feel so immersed in Night City, you really feel like your actions have consequences. The only reason it doesn't get a 10 from me is because there are a few visual bugs but they haven't been too bad.

If anything, this proves that review scores and "press reviews’ are fundamentally broken in 2020: Avengers got trashed for having some mild bugs, despite having excellent and deep gameplay mechanics throughout 6 playable characters, an excellent campaign mode and an enjoyable (albeit repetitive) multiplayer mode. How that game sits at 68 while Cyberpunk 2077 is at 89 is ridiculous, and proof that not just CDPR, but game criticism needs to get a LOT better. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really didn't want to give a 7 because like most people i've totally fallen in love with the Cyberpunk lore/world/story. Unfortunately though certain aspects just don't match up to great modern day titles like RDR2, TLOU2, Uncharted and GOW. There are some things that they do just as well as the aforementioned titles but other things unfortunately aren't even in the same ball park.
My review is nothing to do with bugs or glitches. Unfortunately you have to counteract a lot of negative hate nowadays so I'm just scoring on my experience from a fairly ok PS5 version. The first things that kind of detract from the game is that a lot of things that were mentioned in the build up that just haven't happened in the actual game. It's really frustrating that we have a Destiny/No Mans Sky release where the game is just nothing like what people expected. Maybe are expectations shouldn't of been so high but there are things like being able to beat the game without doing the main quest that were heavily exaggerated. It depends what point of view you take the missions from I suppose. I really expected given the success of the Witcher we were going to get something on the same level with all the bells and whistles of next gen. I got GTA V mixed with future Fallout/Elder Scrolls vibes but instead we got a clever multi narrative version of the PS4 Spiderman. Fun action but a relatively short story. The side missions didn't make up for the short story despite the heavy touting of the side quests. There were a handful that i enjoyed but I didn't feel like they pushed the action to it's limits quite enough. Only during the Heist mission was I fulfilled. The map is similar in size to Spiderman but has a lot more detail and intricacy. I am extremely disappointed with all the districts that random events don't happen like in RDR2 for example. Considering the was 8 years of build up I think we deserved something on par with a rockstar release. The trailers have been massively misleading. "WHAT DO YOU WANT, YOU WANT A CAR, A HOUSE" all that jazz. You literally have one apartment for the majority of the game. You don't really need any of the cars available apart from the legendary ones you can achieve frustratingly near the end of the game. Fast travel makes the level of detail they spent on vehicles pointless. You cant fire out your car with your weapon like in the trailer. You don't even get the jacket till later on despite it being at the start of the game in the trailer. The orange katana as far as i'm aware isn't an option. The car from the trailer you can easily miss and it's not even that good. It sounds horrible to drive. Finally my biggest gripe is the total copout by CD PROJECT RED where after you finish the last mission you go back to the start before the mission. That's the only problem with Horizon Zero Dawn, it happens in Zelda and numerous other titles. It's lazy. I know there is DLC coming but it seems that it's the icing on all the negative of the game. You spend your whole time trying to become a legend. Get a sweet pad. King of Night City then it all goes. They literally meant "No Future" with all that graffiti.
On the positive side of things I love the story. I love the world. I love the characters. It's just missing that extra something. The clothes are cool.... but we want MORE. We can't even change our players looks after the start screen at a barbers. Silverhand is amazing even if his best line was only in the trailer not the game. The game would go from a 7 straight to a 9/10 if they just added the obvious which everyone expected. It's already got the makings so I hope if they get to do a sequel they don't let us down. Maybe they'll turn it around with the DLC, maybe not. I wish there was new game + as an option, I wish the soundtrack was more of a thing but oh well they have given us numerous multi narrative endings and three different starts. There's an alternate universe where this is the best game ever and I wish we got that.
The story is on the same level as the great modern titles but that's not enough. The gameplay, customisation, immersion all have the makings but don't meet the mark that other games do. I look forward to Cyberpunk 3000.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just take a closer look at the reasons why people are giving this game bad reviews. Half of them are complaining about poor optimization on their last-gen consoles: like, seriously? You don't need to have your brain cybernetically enhanced by a ripperdoc to realize that a console from 2015 wont do well with a visually stunning, open world shooter RPG from 2020. That's not a fair reason to criticize this game. The other half of people are complaining about the NPCs somehow not being smart enough, and comparing it to RDR2 as if you could hold an intellectual conversation with every random bot you robbed out of their passing stagecoach?! Like are ya'll serious?! The NPCs that are central to the storyline (side quests included) have more than enough personality and dialogue options, and the random meaningless people walking around the street are just that - random meaningless people, just as you can't really have long conversations with ANY of the random meaningless people in any of yalls favorite RPG-ish games (GTA V, RDR2, Witcher 3, the list goes on).

Now on to the game itself - I've played the game for 14 hours so far on my Acer Predator Helios 300, and I have not for a single moment experienced a frame late any lower than 60 fps - meaning NOT A DROP of lag. I haven't experienced any gamebreaking bugs - yes there are a few UI issues, mostly that the UI is a little too cluttered and there aren't any tutorials for important UI things such as crafting - but that is a SMALL SIDE NOTE to a game that is ENORMOUS in terms of the potential fun to be had from the main quests, side quests, and gigs alone. There's absolutely no reason this game should be receiving any less than an 8.5 from the general public - the haters who are giving it 1s and 2s, are definitely not actually giving this game a chance. I promised myself when this game came out that I would play 10 hours before looking at any of the hater reviews I knew people would post online, and I am so glad I did - if I had listened to the reviews I wouldn't have bought a game that has quickly become my favorite new game of 2020 (and honestly of the last few years in the Shooter/RPG category).

Long and short of it - HATERS GON HATE. If you expected this game to somehow be perfect, you must not have a great deal of life experience, because NOTHING in life is perfect. This game is honestly like the perfect brainchild of Fallout 3's RPG/Shooting blend and GTA V's open world/megalopolis genre, and I couldn't be any happier with it.

The small criticisms I do have (which in no way merit me giving this game any less than a 10, it is still a remarkable achievement that is decades ahead of most other games in its category):

    1. Driving cars/motorcycles just doesn't feel right on the PC, the vehicles are not responsive enough to my commands to move the car to the right or left, so it feels like I have to drive super slow to avoid crashing, and I'd never be able to complete a mission that required keeping up with another driver or catching someone in a car for this reason. I feel like they tried to aim for the "gritty" driving controls feel of Days Gone, where you have to be more precise and careful with how you drive (as opposed to GTA V where the cars are super responsive and if anything you have to undercompensate with your controls to avoid spinning out) - however, this effort fell short and in the end they need to just release a patch where the vehicles are more responsive to commands.
    2. The UI is confusing and there is no tutorial on how to use it - specifically, it is really hard to figure out how to do crafting/how to organize items etc, even though I figured it out over time.
    3. The police don't actually pose any threat in the game - its not like in RDR2 where if you actually get the police on your back you start stressing for a while and actually run a real risk.
    4. Some missions are just way out of your ability to play but they don't make that very obvious - for example, even though in the journal the mission will say that it has a "Very High" danger level, you can still start the mission and progress rather far in it (i.e. talking to the necessary NPCs, driving to the right location) before realizing that you are still 10 levels too weak to start that mission and will promptly get smoked in one shot from the first enemy NPC that gets you in their sights. They should make it more obvious which missions you can do right now, and which you will have to do at a higher level - or, even better: just don't assign any missions that are for high level characters to low level characters initially; wait until they have progressed further in the game for that NPC to give them the "mission call."
    5. Speaking of mission calls, the game has a really annoying habit of having NPCs call you while you're in the middle of one mission to assign you another mission.

All in all - best new game I've played all year. An epic achievement.

On PC, it runs fine apart from a few mildly distracting bugs. I know how insanely difficult it is to make such a huge, and ambitious game like this is. Not to mention the crunch people went through to get this made and put out this early.
That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this game. as of writing this,, I have 80 hours in the game, and am 40% of the way through the story (No it's not THAT long, I started doing side quests instead, because i didn't want to finish it yet). I LOVE this game, and it is everything I thought it would be and more. I love the quests and side missions and gigs, and just every little bit of worldbuilding I've seen so far. I'd love to thank CD Project Red for putting their effort and love into the game because it really shows.

Русская озвучка полное ДНО! Так испортить впечатление. И зачем такое количество мата в диалогах?! Для быдлоты игра или для умственно отсталых? Про оптимизацию я вообще молчу.

This game was being made by a bunch of goofs listening to dumb tweets about boobs and dinks from the start... Know who made this game good?

Grimes. This is the best 80 dollars I have ever spent on a digital album.

Grimes is so good that I give it a 7.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a really solid game. Best played on a PC, due to far superior capabilities to any console including "new-gen" ones.

There are some minor graphical bugs and such present on the launch, however this stuff should mostly be gone within a month or so.

For the price, this game is really reasonably supplied with its amount of content and story.

This game is amazing. CDPR has done a great job of capturing the feel of Night City!. The city feels alive and throbbing with energy. The graphics are beautiful and I find myself watching TV, listening to the radio or just enjoying the skyline. The story draws you in and captivates. I care about the characters and it matters how you deal with each.

I have been playing the TTRPG that this game is based on since 1989 so I am well versed in the lore of this game. At this point I have 29 hours in the game and have only progressed the story past the first part (trying to avoid spoilers but what happened in that first part of the main story line just absolutely blew my mind) there is just SO much to do. I love the side content with gigs, NCPD incidents, cyberpsycos, etc, and I haven't really opened up any of the lasting side quests yet.
The gun play feels good. I enjoy the stealth and hacking, exploration (and you are rewarded for exploring nooks and crannies), watching out for gang dust ups with NCPD, the crafting system, and the skills/perks system. There are just so many ways to play this game. I even tried doing a quest totally non-lethal, difficult but very rewarding.
To people who complain about hacking not being effective, you have to save your eddies from the side content and upgrade your cyberdeck and quick hacks. Throwing in some perks is also a good idea. The starting cyberdeck is just really to get your feet wet. I can take out enemies with Burn or Short Circuit, or a combination. But , you can also slip past them by drawing them to areas away from where you want to go with other quick hacks, or reboot their cyberoptics and blind them.
I'm not gonna lie there is a learning curve to the game. You have to practice. That will improve your skills and things get easier the higher the skill gets. it is noticeable.
Weapons are just fun. I haven't played much with melee weapons as that's not really my style, but I did enjoy the tutorial for melee combat. I love the performance of almost every weapon I've used, not crazy about a tech pistol I found that has a 2 shot burst, and every weapon has it's own feel. My current load out is a silenced pistol (silencers do reduce damage so be prepared), pump shotgun, and assault rifle with a Tech sniper rifle for when I need it. The ability to shoot through walls just rocks! I just got my first smart weapon last night and haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but I did get a smart link cyberware so i am prepared. Other cyberware I use currently, titanium bones for increased carry capacity, found a ripper doc with legendary subdermal armor so I can wear pretty much what I want to, karensikov boostware, upgraded cyberdeck.
I try to mix playstyles, some missions run in guns blazing, others stealth and hacking, sometimes a mixture of the two (like when stealth fails)
To my rating of a 10, I would actually rate it a 9.4-9.6 but I can't choose between whole numbers. I have experienced no freezes or crashes. I have not had to reload the game except when I want to, to undo a bonehead thing I did. I have seen some graphics tears, a guy walking in the air, floating garbage in one alley, a walk/don't walk sigh floating in the air with no pole to support, but so far any bugs I've encountered are very minor.
My biggest issue with the game is driving. I do not like the driving controls and the vehicles feel like they have very little traction (they slide far too easily). The throttle feels like full open or nothing at all and I have trouble when there is a lot of traffic around. Also the other drivers will be stopped in the road for no reason at all sometimes.
My PC specs are AMD Ryzen 7 2600, 16GB ram, RTX 2060 super video card, game running off an SSD.

This game is very immersive with a solid story and great visuals. I think most people's frustration with bugs is that when a bug does happen, it rips you out of the game that much more. I can definitely understand where they are coming from when they get upset, but I don't think it makes the game a 0/10 in any sense.

    It's a solid RPG, and I give it a 7/10.

    Minuses:
    - Every part of the gameplay is bugged (cars jumping, dropping from mid air; characters glitching through textures; player is moved through map by invisible force; NPCs talk even when dead; items glitch in floor; every bug is fixable only by save reload or restarting the game)
    - NO RT support on AMD
    - NO HT support on AMD
    - Dialogues overlap sometimes
    - Driving cars and bikes is a nightmare
    - No use of crafting and upgrades due to massive amounts of drops
    - NPCs spam your inbox with car deals
    - Romance options are few and not engaging in any way, hookers have better animations than storyline characters

You can go to a club, only for buying drinks but there is no animation of drinking or eating. No dancing, can't interact with NPC. You run, get a task, kill people and repeat. A huge multi level map only to feel is emptiness.

From the maker of The witcher 3, we expected more.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
