For me this is a really fun game,I'm gonna judge it from a personal experience.

Game sold in beta, deceiving those who believed in the company. The least they should do was return the money to PC users as well.

Sad state of affairs. I wanted to like this game but it's beyond buggy. CDPR should've done what Larian did with BG3 and gone to early access. That kind of launch would be transparent and allow players to understand what they're in for at this stage. But that's not how this product was marketed. CDPR should've done what Larian did with BG3 and gone to early access. That kind of launch would be transparent and allow players to understand what they're in for at this stage. But that's not how this product was marketed. With the game's themes of techno-feudalism and late stage capitalism, it's oddly meta for CDPR to cynically target the release of this game for the 2020 holidays season to make a fast buck. I feel bad for the crunch the corps levied on the staff.

The art is beautiful, the music is beautiful. It's a nice painting to walk around in (when it's working). But the city is devoid of soul. The citizens are on loops and you can't interact with them (they ignore you). It's like watching the gears in a clock.

You can run around stealing whatever you want at any time without consequence. The police appear out of of nowhere. You can't rebind the action key. If I go from my laptop to a monitor, the game resolution gets screwed up. If you're on PC with AMD, have fun reading forums to sort out how to optimize for your processor.

It's an RPG set in the future and you can't change your appearance. Barbers, tattoo artists and plastic surgeons don't exist in the future?

Open world games like RDR2 set the bar for environment interaction and this game doesn't come anywhere close to that. 10 year old games do driving better. The original half-life did enemy AI better. 8 years for this...?

The quality and technical issues I've frankly only started listing had me asking for a refund, but I was denied by STEAM because my 6 hrs trying to get it working exceeds the 2 hrs playing maximum. LAEARN FROM MY MISTAKE.

CDPR presented themselves as pro-consumer during this marketing cycle. I believed them. CDPR deserves the same derision that other AAA developers (EA, Ubi,etc) would receive for this kind of launch. They're now on that list of dubious publishers IMHO.

Don't buy it yet. If you can refund it, refund it. See if they fix the issues and implement promised features, earn back trust, and *maybe* buy again at a discount down the road. This is a sad state of affairs. Don't spend $80cdn on a tech demo/early access.

So 45 hours in. Have Finished the Game once

Site Quests are great. Great characters and writing. Far beyond the main story where you really just want a bullet in the brain after dealing with jhonny. F that stupid chip story. Main quest is also amazingly short... and annoying at best. Prologue was good, after that just gets super annoying. Sad that the focus was the chip.

The City is alive and busy. But no real interaction at any of the million stalls and shops. Its like walking through a painting. A lot see, not much to do... A lot of minor interactions could have been added to give Life to the art.

A variaty of play stiles available. stealthy, brute, gunner, assassin, dumbas
Driving is mediocre at best. Balance on most of the cars are off, as well as traction that is mismatched. Guy who programmed the cars knows nothing about driving.
The bikes sound like an angel humming you to sleep. Nothing better.
2 hookers for the pervs who are asking.

Game looks and plays great on mid tier hardware. It is a heavy resource user so low spec PCs will have issues playing at over 45fps.
Still a lot of minor bugs and a few major ones.

The Ending makes Mass Effect 3's ending look great...
There are supposed to be 5 alternates. have tried 1 now and started skipping as fast as I could to get it over with. Lets hope I missed the good ones.

Most negative reviews seem to stem from console version (last gen).

However having just finished the game on PC, max settings - Game is beautiful, the story is amazing and really immersive. The world building, the character development, the weight of your decisions: absolutely insane. Some bugs, mostly visual, very few required a reload at checkpoint to fix. Maybe I got lucky. If

If you really want, you can wait a while for them to iron out the game - OR - you can play a playthrough now and just enjoy a sick ass story, and then play a second one when the game is largely patched and maybe even has DLC out.

I did most sidequests and finished the main story in 50 hours, I saved some sidequests for another playthrough and didn't do much of the gigs/contracts so I could've probably prolonged the game.

The last gen console version was a disaster but they said they will get it to a better state, though not on par with PC or current gen consoles.
If you want to experience this game, PC at the moment is probably the best for immersion and the true cyberpunk experience, assuming you have a computer can handle it. But be ready for slight bugs every now and then. If you don't want that then just wait a bit.

it's not going to be a crazy second life game as some people expected it to be, and if you really nitpick and focus on certain things it may seem 'artificial', but the world is really good at making itself feel alive as you progress through the story/sidequests. It was after all advertised as a narrative-driven open world game, and that it is. If you go around trying to conversate with every AI just walking around you'll realize its still just a game and only under certain circumstances will those AI do something special. But again, that's not the focus of the game nor the job of the crowds.
Besides the console versions, most complaints I've heard are about some missing features, current disliked features, bugs, and cosmetic choices. All of these I believe are easily patchable and fixable so if those put you off, just wait a bit. But if you want to participate in a sick ass journey, go ahead :)

The game overall, even in it's current state, is fantastic. I can only imagine how much better it'll be when they add more features, polish things up, and add dlc as well. They have a lot to work with.

Have about 20-ish hours in the game and have yet to have any game breaking bugs/crashes/issues (however I am playing on PC so your mileage may vary on console). Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that supports pivotal gameplay and superb storytelling. The issues with this game are the"occasional bugs" as I put in quotes because its minor texture bugs that will be addressed in a simple patch. Overall, this game is a wonderful and beautiful game that has tons of content.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
