Cyberpunk 2077 set out with really ambitious goals during its development. At release, you can see some of the promise the game holds, but there are bugs in the game. If you can look past them, there are a lot of things that show where CDPR wants to take the game, and if they continue to develop the game like they did the witcher 3, it will be game of the year 2021. If you can look past them, there are a lot of things that show where CDPR wants to take the game, and if they continue to develop the game like they did the witcher 3, it will be game of the year 2021. The game is absolutely beautiful, and really pushes things forward. Others, I expect will be fixed or reworked in a future patch. I don't have a super high end PC, but I can use reasonable graphic settings (medium) I get 100+ FPS, or I can turn on the eye candy and get 30-35 FPS. Now, 30-35 FPS isn't great, but it is the smoothest experience I have ever had at that framerate. No stutters, no jerks, just really really smooth at 30 FPS, which isn't something that I expected.

At any rate, I'm about 20 hours into the game, and from what I can tell, I'm pretty sure that I am less than half way through the game at this point. I expect that my first play through will be 80-200 hours. I am enjoying the game as it is, but I do look forward to the upcoming patches that fix the glitches that for me so far have been rather minor. A game crash here, a floating person there, but nothing that keeps me from progressing or continuing to play.

Lots of trolls on metacritic who are obviously trying to downrate the game by giving it a score of 0. Just look past them, and enjoy the game, you won't regret it.

Now let me say this first. Yes there are bugs. But none of my friends or I who played it on PC faced any game breaking ones. People/ young kids went with the expectation that it’s a gta competitor. It’s not just about the open world. It’s about the story. And at that. Cyberpunk is breathtaking. Act 1 ends with a huge bang. I and all my friends were in awe at the end of the first act. References to matrix and what not. I love the game regardless. It’s really hard to make me love a single player game and especially an rpg. And cyberpunk does it after years! I would recommend this game to all mature gamers who don’t go in expecting it to be a gta game. Expand

Using a controller, I think the driving is nearly as good as GTA V, and the shooting mechanics are on par with Destiny (which is unheard of for RPGs). Stealth is functional, but it’s a crying shame that CDPR removed wall-running/hanging from the game. Night City is the most vertically dense open world ever created - it’s visually unrivaled as well. AI isn’t great. The story, however, is really solid (I’m about 50% through the main, but I’ve played 50 hours due to side missions). CDPR promised a far more innovative game, and we should have been more skeptical. Innovation can still be found, but the most exciting promised mechanics, e.g., unique life paths, customization, unique cybernetics, and vertical movement mechanics (wall-hanging/running/climbing). In spite of everything, I still consider it to be a solid 9/10. It’s just that the game we were supposed to get sounded like an 11/10, and for whatever reason, they dumbed it down considerably. If you have a decent PC, try it out. Or wait a few months; CDPR will surely smooth out the bugs and add features. Expand

Amazing graphics, incredible world, fun characters and many different ways to build your V! This is my favorite game of 2020! I just want to add, if you have a **** PC be warned that the game is heavy(after seeing the scale of the city and the insane detail of the world i fully understand why older consoles and weak PCs have trouble running this game).

Just save & reload if it's a quest bug- that fixes almost everything. 35hrs in and having a blast Expand

Awesome title, setting, story, big kudos for CDPR for reviving Cyberpunk. It's the best game in this setting ever created and an RPG through and through. It even offers a free upgrade for console players to play on newer hardware.

Anyway, most of the negative dramatic comments here are laughable. It's an unfortunate illustration of where we are as a species.

TL;DR if you have the hardware and love the vibe just get it, or wait for a bit to for the game to be patched up. It's another CDPR title that will be legendary and set the bar for the next gen.

Polecam.

Therefore it's super sad to see people jumping on the **** bandwagon. Yes, there are bugs, but it's actually far from a state all the meme videos would suggest. It seems mainly consoles suffers from this and sure it sucks, but this is the section for the PC version, which is the DEFINITIVE version of the game, so I won't take it into account. And if you actually play this game instead of going around GTA style and try to create chaos at each and every corner it works fine with only a few minor bugs or immersion breakers.

It's still easily a 10/10 game, basically Deus EX with a much better Story, more options to tweak your character and how you approach things. Everywhere is stuff to explore if you actually look for it. Gameplay is fine, except vehicle controls with mouse+kb but w.e. And the graphics are just insanely awesome. No other open world game comes even close. 10/10 doesn't mean something is absolutely flawless, as this is an unreasonable expectation since nothing can be objectively flawless. But it delivers on every front and I truly hadn't had that much fun in an open world rpg since skyrim.

    Things I don't like:
    - Minor glitches here and there
    - Vehicle controls
    - Crafting System (I don't even think it needs crafting, or at least it should be exclusive to vendors i.e. you gather materials and tell a vendor to craft something for you)
    - That clothes have stats (totally unnecessary, just give em mod slots for those)
    - Weapon balancing needs further polishing (i.e. LMGs feel completely off)
    - Stealth gameplay needs further polishing (More options how you approach enemies in stealth mainly)

One of the most immersive open worlds i've ever played underlined with good quality writing, soundtrack, and enjoyable combat. Driving feels a bit undercooked, but I would hope that can be addressed in future updates. Enemy AI is probably the most disappointing element, but it feels like that can be improved a lot with inevitable patching.

CDPR have definitely got something special here and it's a shame they had to push it out with so little polish - because despite that it is a fun ride on a decent pc.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
