    Cyberpunk 2077 is a masterpiece.
Gameplay, difficulty, sound, story and storytelling are fantastic.
Cyberpunk 2077 side quests are also interesting, and the thrilling moments are enough to play the game til end.
You do not need more than 30 hours!

Is it an open world RPG? Yes. Does it actually give the player consequential choices? No. It's a linear RPG in a masterfully crafted open-world city... that is plagued with performance issues, bugs, and so on. No. It's a linear RPG in a masterfully crafted open-world city... that is plagued with performance issues, bugs, and so on. After 1.5 I finally returned to the game and it's the most "okay" game I've ever played. It's not stellar, and once you get past the initial "wow factor" of running around the city, you end up just being ushered from one set location to another following a linear story. The RPG mechanics are okay, but nothing ground breaking. The best way to approach this game is the following: Are you a fan of Deus Ex? Would you like more color and an open world with RPG looting mechanics in exchange for giving up player choice? If yes to both of those, then this will be a good fit.

If however you want that player choice, you won't really find it here. If you want stuff that has player choices, play Fallout, Skyrim, Mass Effect, Deus Ex, or one of the many other vetted titles out there known for encouraging player choice. Dark Souls has more player choice than this game does.

probably the most disappointing game launch I have seen the game at launch was an extremely horrendous buggy mess that didn't work and now a year later it works? disappointing that I had to wait a whole year just to play the working version of this game but at least my 80 dollars I spent on this game didn't go to waste gold star for cd projekt red

Well what can i say, i was wrong about this game.

It was obviously incomplete at launch and i think we can blame the CDPR executive suits for that.. it really just needed more time in the oven, about a year or longer. I am having a blast playing this, its innovative, creative and addicting. I wouldn't call it a full blown RPG but its damn near close. It features endless side missions,

So much good stuff here that was overshadowed by immersion breaking bugs. I have high hopes for where the game will end up after the devs clean it up and make night city feel more like it was promised. This game will probably be great someday but for now it just feels disappointing

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is **not** an rpg. I might get called "sweaty" for this, but I'm playing through cyberpunk 2077 and it doesn't feel much like an rpg to me. It feels like it has rpg elements, but it seems to differ greatly from its tabletop namesake. Granted I'm only in the first act. Act 1 Spoilers ahead: I don't understand why there aren't any major choices that switch things up, so far. I've played through Act 1 a number of times, a number of different ways, but the results are always the same. I understand there's a bit of a linear plot they're leading up to by having Keanu Reeves nest in my brain matter. I get that. I know it is key that Keanu haunts my brain and tries to take over my psyche. But they can still give players fun choices within that narrow-as-hell railroad track and watch different scenes unfold that still lead to the same turning point. Dexter DeShawn is my example here. I've played a few different ways with Dex. I've been nice and loyal to him. I've lied to him. I've been apathetic toward him. I've outright yelled at him. Nothing changes. He still reacts to me the same. He still shoots me in the head. He still leads that Arasaka guy to my body in the landfill and gets himself shot. Why? This could have played out in so many ways. When I go to Dex's place after Jackie dies, I should, say, have the option to just kill Dex. Right? Say, we get in a fight, I shoot him, then I go into the bathroom, wash my face/punch the mirror/whatever, and as I exit, Dex's goon knocks me out (as he does anyway). Then say the goon (not Dex) shoots me and dumps me in the landfill, only to be led back there by the Arasaka guy and shot on the spot. It's the same story, but I was given more agency. So far, Cyberpunk makes me feel like I am strapped into a rollercoaster car on a one way track, rather than getting behind the wheel of a fun off-roader. I really don't understand how this game is a full fledged rpg. Or how it can railroad a player so hard through a 45 minute cut scene from the moment I'm shot in the head to the moment I wake up in Viktor's ripperdoc parlor. I do enjoy the game, but it doesn't hit me like an rpg quite does. I miss the video games where choices caused different outcomes and the player feels like they have some agency in the world. Expand

Buggy masterpice. Graphics, plot, soundtrack, characters, design are amazing. Many users give it a 0 rating, but I think half of them haven't even played this game. The disadvantages of the game are already known to everyone: an empty world, poor optimization, bugs. But even despite them, the game is amazing.

The game played beautifully on my new but less than high-end PC, and provided so far hundreds of hours of exploration and character driven narratives in the most immersive atmosphere I've experienced since Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

One of the worst games i have played since 2020. Buggy, boring and empty open world with nothing to do. GTA 4/GTA 5 are miles ahead of this flop. Ironically Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Cyberbug 2077 came out basically same time, late 2020. By now, Ubisoft has done so, so, so much more improving AC Valhalla, compared to what has been done with Cyberpunk. Sad to see stuff like that.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
