I am fortunate enough to play this on a PC with patch 1.04 which fixed most of the issues. The game looks like nothing else, the story is super engaging, even the shooting and driving mechanics are great. This is a worthy successor to the Witcher 3 and will stand as the best game of 2020 for sure. Highly recommended.

Things wrong with this game @ 12th December, 2020

    - Some characters T-posing. I saw two characters do this in 14 hours of playing. - Too much loot everywhere, in places that don't make sense - Loot laying around that you can't pick up - Hard to see what loot you are actually picking up - Playing on hard there is a ridiculous amount of health packs just laying everywhere although

    - Some characters T-posing. I saw two characters do this in 14 hours of playing.
    - Too much loot everywhere, in places that don't make sense
    - Loot laying around that you can't pick up
    - Hard to see what loot you are actually picking up
    - Playing on hard there is a ridiculous amount of health packs just laying everywhere although they are not very useful
    - Side quests are just flying at your head left and right without much choice on your part
    - You also can't choose what cars to buy and when, you just are obliged to buy them through quests that randomly appear and you have to start with the crappiest one, each time moving up to a little less crappy. It takes the fun out of car shopping.
    - Playing on an azerty keyboard sucks because your movement keys will probably overlap with unremappable keys
    - Some keys don't work right. E.g. I set LCtrl to toggle crouch but it remains Hold To Crouch even though the menu shows differently.
    - Sometimes random menus like your messages or character sheet pop open and I have no idea what key I pressed to open them.
    - I haven't found much to do besides main quest, side quests and some collectables.
    - Weapon and armor mods seem to be pointless because you can't recover them and you are getting better guns and armor for free constantly so you'll probably change everything every 10 minutes. This may improve late game where you might be able to keep your gear for longer than a few minutes.

I still like the game though. It looks amazing, the action is smooth, the shooting precise, there's a lot of ways to develop and upgrade your character, the story is enough to keep you playing, the game runs great for me, it has a good soundtrack and an interesting Deus Ex-y atmosphere...

As it is today I'd give it a 7,5 but I'm sure with a few patches it will score well above 8. With some extra content and variety perhaps 9. And if people start modding this it might become brilliant. You can tell that despite all the delays CD Projekt Red still rushed it. There is much potential here. I hope that either the developers or the mod community make it what it can be. It happened for No Man's Sky, among others...

I chose to give a ten because a lot of people are giving ratings that are unfairly low and I want to counter that. It's not a revolutionary game but it's at least good and in some areas already great.

So I never usually write reviews but this whole situation has been blowing my mind recently. Not once have I experienced any sort of slowdown, crashes, or quest/game-breaking bugs. In fact, I have gone whole sessions without seeing any bugs at all. And what I have experienced has been only minor visual glitches, which do happen but they are nothing serious and don't hinder the experience.

Games like Skyrim had/have much more serious issues yet that game has been praised into oblivion. Not to diss Skyrim but this game is amazing, it reminds me of all the best elements of a Bethesda RPG mixed with the immersive simulation of games like Deus Ex or Prey. The story (so far) is fantastic, the combat feels great with the wealth of choice it gives the player, role playing and customization is extensive and rewarding, the music is killer, and the world is both visually stunning and a joy to explore.

When I read these negative reviews I can't help but think people must be playing an entirely different game. Either that or people are trying to run this on their old Dell desktop from 1998. I understand the hate if you bought the PS4/Xbox One version, if that was the only version I had access to I would be upset as well. But if you have any sort of decent PC then there shouldn't be an issue. By no means do I have the most advanced or expensive hardware. Maybe I'm just lucky, who knows. Regardless I'll be playing Cyberpunk for probably hundreds of hours to come. It's that good.

Horrible friendly/enemy combat AI. sometimes super-reactive, sometimes amorphous. AI during infiltration phases a little illogical as a bonus

    God, this game is immersive.

Not sure what the other reviewer's issue with the controls were.
But this keyboard and mouse experience is just as intuitive as Doom: Eternal.
I like that tab brings up Ghost in the Shell vision for a short moment, and caps lock changes the view.
Combat is super fun. Tons of ammo abound.
After the first true mission, I had multiple pistols, rifle, and shotty.
    Excited to see what's next.
I loved the Blade Runner / GITS running bits of Nihongo in the background.

Also, lots of bits of lore abound. As a healthcare worker, I love the commentary on socialized medicine vs capitalism insurance run rampant and preying on his members/patients.

Absolutely gorgeous game. From neuromancer, BR, GITS, Asimov, and many more, the allusions and inspirations put into this game makes this the pen-ultimate sci-fi dystopian cyber punk experience.

Happy to pay full price and support CDPR when many people are not giving the dev's a chance.
    Well worth the money.

Yes there are glitches here and there, but nothing gamebreaking. Purely cosmetic things that could be easily ironed-out.

Yes, the character development mechanics could go a bit deeper. Early perks are a bit meaningless, but the further you go, the larger their impact.

Of course game isn't without faults (is there any), but pros definitely outweigh cons.

Overall it's a fantastic experience that I could recommend to any PC owner with hardware more recent than 5-years old.

This review will be in two part an Overall and Detail (28 Hours of gameplay and not even at the end):

    A. Overall:

    1. As of this review i have player for 28 hours and just reach the end of Act 1, it took that long for me to complete act 1 because i enjoy the world so much i really like to explore it further, the side quest is engaging and it can grab your attention away from the main story line.

    2. For the gameplay perspective i enjoy it very much even if it is lock in a fps pov it is still a good RPG gameplay and mechanic

    3. For the Bugs i think it is difference for each user, i'm using a high end PC and experience very little bug that it did not hinder my experience at all regarding crashes i only got 2 hard crashes is 28 hours of games.

Overall a good RPG game and also a good FPS game but since this is a RPG game first and foremost i recommend it to RPG players and not FPS or Action game players

    B. Details:

    1. For the story although i have not reach the end of the main story i can feel that it will not be as long as The Witcher games but it ill be sufficient enough if you played it slow and really enjoy the story choices you makes and just from the first act i can already feel that choices have many impact to the main story either it will happen soon or still ways at the mid or end of the story and it will matter so you will not get the felling of pointless choices because yours choices will matter. Regarding side quest there are some that is just a basic ones that is there just to give you xp or in game resources a bit of lore for the world but there is also side quest that have either influenced to the main story or happen and available only because of your choices in the main story line.

    2. For the gameplay since this is a FPS RPG it may feels weird to some experienced RPG players but it is still enjoyable (e.g if you play skyrim only from FPS POV). First is the RPG elements it may not be as in debt as other pure RPG games but the elements is still there to make a good RPG experiences from the customisation options to skills and attributes that can be controlled with how you play the game just like any other RPG games. The RPG combat is a number game so there is no RNG what so ever which is good since this is also a FPS games so it is compatible so to say. Second is the FPS elements the closest comparison i can make is the FPS gameplay from borderland arcade style FPS combine with the realistic-ness of a modern FPS shooters, you might be worried that is will be bullet sponge because of the RPG element but you will not feel that way, for example for a headshot in a true bullet sponge enemy a headshot will not matter much because maybe no matter how many time you shoot the enemy in the head they won't die as long as the health is still many, but here a headshot have the combine effect of an RPG and realistic FPS because it counts if you hit it and effect it appropriately.

3.Regarding the bug i will say that it is not as game breaking or as prevalent as the news or review implied, and it may vary from users and for the sake of this review i will say again i'm using a high end PC.
First the visual/graphic bug, may other review or news outlet will say the visual bug is so visible that it sometimes mess with the immersive of the experience but i can say that the visual bug i get is nothing but just minor visual bugs and even less notable if you did not specifically look for one, for example maybe object collision, object or character clipping in the ground or wall and other visual bugs. Related to this maybe the UI bug, the only thing i experience with this one is when the map marker does not update following your point of interest.
second is the game crashes, during the 28 hours of game i only experience to hard crashes both happen only when loading a saved game and continuing from main menu but i never had hard crashes during gameplay.

In Summary Cyberpunk 2077 is a great RPG game and a good FPS game with great story elements and great gameplay and it will be a great experience to play it and i put it high among any other Story based RPG games that i liked

I like the story and the writing is good, the world feels complex, and the characters are developed in a way that has depth... It gives a good enough illusion to feel immersed in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

Graphically the game is stunning but what is better is the attention to detail in models and locations which really feel very real.

Performance seems to be an issue for some , I'll just preface that I have not had issues but
I play it on a reasonable PC, it is not the latest greatest ( I9-9900k + RTX 2080 Ti) but it is quite decent. At ultra 3440 × 1440 works well enough not to notice issues. My framerates were in the ~45 fps range with DLSS enabled.

Some will cringe that 45 is low , but for a single player game, trying to experience the story and have it look stunning, this works well for me. And personally until I enabled the FPS counter in steam I had no idea what the value is but my senses can't really tell the difference between 60 or 45 so at this point FPS is just a number.

I'm sure there will be optimization fixes which will make this run better. What is important is that the writing is good, the story is immersive, and NC feels real ... this is a really good game, and I would strongly recommend it as it is worth it

There are thousands of people whose rating based not on the game itself but near-about moments, like tech troubles (that always could be fixed and would certainly be in such big projects), political/religional/race/national filters in game's perception etc.
I believe that it would be more relevant to have something like binary system: reviews mostly positive / mostly negative.

Every time I step foot into Night City I can't help but to feel completely immersed and entertained. This game is awesome, immersive, and might have the best presentation in any game that I've ever played. The scale and density of detail is second to none. It's not the biggest world around if measured by land area, but I think it's the most well realized we've seen so far.

Plot and story-wise I found that it helped me immensely to have first read The World of Cyberpunk 2077, since I was previously unfamiliar with the details of the Cyberpunk universe. I could see complete newbies to the lore being somewhat confused and overwhelmed. There are some built-in lore dumps that can help, but that's probably not the best way to learn about the world. For me it's a bit less approachable than the world of the Witcher as they just kind of dump you in the middle of it without much of an intro. At least, that's how it was when I started my corpo lifepath character.

As I'm sure you've heard by now, yes, it currently has WAY more bugs than it should, but I am confident that they will be fixed. If you don't want to deal with bugs, then go ahead and wait a few months, but for me the quality of the game is otherwise so high that I can handle it being in a bit of a mess. It's unfortunate because the bugs are doing a massive disservice to this game. It's a testament to the game's other qualities that I still love it so much in spite of the numerous issues.

Performance is acceptable, and actually pretty good if you don't enable ray tracing. It's definitely a power hog if you wanna use RT, as it will nearly halve your frame rate immediately. I spent 3 weeks without sleep so I could get an RTX 3080, it's too bad Nvidia sucks and didn't produce enough of these cards for everyone who wanted one in time for this release. This is definitely a game that we will keep coming back to as new hardware generations are released.

Pick it up now if you can handle the bugs, but it's not going anywhere if you want to wait for a more polished experience.

Giving a game such a low score because it's not 100 % is just stupid. What CDPR and other game developers should do is to sell the game for full-price and then be fair and launch the game as early access beta game and then polish the game over 1 year. If the state of the game was early access everybody would be giving the game 9 or 10 out of 10.

If you do not have the hardware to play the game don't complain about the game, complain about your PC, get a job, and upgrade your PC or go back to playing CS-go or Minecraft.

Maybe I am lucky but I just don't see the supposed mass of bugs people complain about and IMHO the game more than makes up for any with its qualities. Also, c'mon, for an AAA game with so much content and such graphics, would you really expect it to be perfect on launch? It is only my opinion but I prefer to judge games on potential, feel, ambition and uniqueness. Glitches routinely happen on launch, they are fixed and nobody remembers them in the long run.

The game was absolutely worth the wait.

Great Game. The world building is top notch, and despite many other reports, it is running smootly for me. (the negative reports might come from console players, i heard there are problems, not that i care)

graphics look really good, game feels immensely immersive, 40 hours in on 12.12 and i cannot see myself slowing down much.

    - optimization
    - driving, fights, shooting could be better, however, I hope that those will be polished with the patches like it was in Witcher 3.

The start was difficult, however, we were expecting this game so much, so I can ignore those bugs and optimization issues.

As I see, most of the reviews that have a 0-3 points are associated with the consoles, poor guys what can I say. I can wish them only patience to wait for the patches.

I really love this game ! Played on PC, I found some small bugs but have no problem with that. Genial story telling, fun mechanics, spectacular graphics. Haul over the bug fear mongering -- there are some hilariously buggy pearls, and never do they truly break the game. Imperfections in a diamond make it more real.

Great storyline and interesting characters is what really makes this game shine. Add to that a beutiful and well crafted world. The hype was immense but in this case justified.

In particular I found the development of friendships and romances very immersive indeed. And weaved together really nicely with the story as it progresses. I'll place it in the top of the major legaue for

I'll place it in the top of the major legaue for genre, up there with Mass Effect and The Witcher.

Sure it is has a few flaws. For me mostly graphical glithces and a few annoying bugs that required reload. Nothing major in my opinion.

Some side missions can be a bit grinding, but nothing more than ordinary.

Only thing it really leaves to be desired is more of the same.

Amazing and immersive open world, authentic characters with great acting. I have no issues with crashing so far (perhaps it's a matter of autopdate patch I already have). This is the title I was awaiting for ages but it was worth it.

The game is really great. I have played for 10 hours already. The story is 10 out of 10. I think people that put a low rating to this game simply haven’t played enough. Fantastic immersive dialogs, where you can freely move your camera. Dialogs, design, cast, voice. This game is more like interactive movie.
The game is HUGE. I’be played for 10 hours and I think I am about 10% of story. The game is so rich and have so many different mechanics: hacking and cyberdecks, braindancing which is like a mini detective quest, second vision is a real silver bullet of any cyberpunk, body implants, crafting and resources. Action part is not ideal is not a strong part of the game. But this is normal for story-based ARPG. And the choice of weapons is huge, which is good.
Many people write bad review based on two reasons: glitches (which is normal for day 1, they all will be solved taking into account CDPR team size), and bad performance on old consoles (c’mon, this consoles were made 7 years ago, just grab a new one or a pc).

Great game CD Projekt. Now make it a masterpiece.

Its an amazing game. Full of graphical problems, it has a foggy resolution and although its not bad its not as it was intended. I dont feel it as a next gen game, BUT the story , the characters, everything else really, is very, very good. If you can enjoy the game and wait for patches, then i recommend it wholeheartly. The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
