    However, for newcomers, diving into Counter-Strike can be a daunting endeavor. Mastering the recoil control, honing game sense, and understanding strategic gameplay can take thousands of hours. Moreover, the visuals have not aged gracefully, and the dated graphics might not resonate with today's generation of gamers who are used to more sophisticated visuals.

    When I recently revisited the game, I was instantly transported back to my carefree days, filled with dreams of becoming a CS legend.     Не стану разводить долгих ностальгических соплей про компьютерные клубы, в которых я в детстве ни разу не был. Просто скажу, что лично для меня эта игра запомнилась неплохими перестрелками с ботами. С сетевой же составляющей я познакомился гораздо позже, чем когда зашел в нее в первый раз. И здесь тоже могу лишь сказать, что изобретательность создателей кастомных серверов, скинов и карт неНе стану разводить долгих ностальгических соплей про компьютерные клубы, в которых я в детстве ни разу не был. Просто скажу, что лично для меня эта игра запомнилась неплохими перестрелками с ботами. С сетевой же составляющей я познакомился гораздо позже, чем когда зашел в нее в первый раз. И здесь тоже могу лишь сказать, что изобретательность создателей кастомных серверов, скинов и карт не перестает меня удивлять. Думаю, игра заслужила свою популярность, и она не пройдет еще долго. Ах да, не могу не упомянуть официальные карты, запущенные без ботов - они тоже по-своему интересны.… Expand

    For a Half-Life mod initially made by 4 modders. Counter-Strike really managed to be a success in the history of competitive shooters.

    1.6 version is the best fps game in the whole history and I feel I was so lucky to play it when it just came out. I can still remember the time when I played with my friends after class. But it was so sad that I was not allowed to play anymore when I was in high school. I was only able to play with bots but still a 10-game.

    Counter-Strike (1.6) is an all-time classic and one of the first games that I owned and played on my Steam account. I even bought it boxed and with that, started my journey on Steam. Counter-Strike is a simple, yet so fun, game. You choose a team, in which your objectives vary. You can play as terrorists or Counter-terrorists. As    Ultimate classic that still holds up today.

    Counter-Strike (1.6) is an all-time classic and one of the first games that I owned and played on my Steam account. I even bought it boxed and with that, started my journey on Steam.

    Counter-Strike is a simple, yet so fun, game. You choose a team, in which your objectives vary. You can play as terrorists or Counter-terrorists. As terrorists, you keep and defend hostages, place bombs at specific sites and prevent the counter-terrorists from defusing them. As counter-terrorists, you try to save the hostages and defuse the bombs that terrorist have placed.

    Meanwhile, you pump each other full of lead. I especially liked the VIP mode, in which one player is appointed as a target that will win the round if eliminated. The other players on your team need to defend you with their lives until the time is up to win. It is a unique and fun experience that was most fun at LAN parties.

    When starting the round, you choose/buy your weapons. You can choose a variety of pistols, sub-machine guns, heavy assault rifles, sniper rifles and grenades. Some weapons work better for you than others, so half the fun is trying to figure out which weapon has the right feeling and handling for you. The weapons themselves however, are well balanced and I did not experience any unfair advantages with a specific weapon.

    The Graphics in Counter-Strike are really nice for the time. They are well rendered and textured, and the frame rate is spot on. No tearing, no lag, it runs smooth as butter. The animations are stiff and when killed, you drop dead as a brick, but this the charm that the game has.

    In terms of sound, this game nails it, especially for the time period. Guns sound aggressive and loud, and explosions can be felt through your headset. It is spot on and holds up great with today’s standards.

    The controls are easy to learn and work fluent and responsive.

    My only problem at the time with Counter-Strike was the limited time to choose your gear before the round starts. It is completely logical that players do not wait until everyone choose their shiny guns, but when first playing, I was still checking what weapon would be best for me, and before I knew it, I had forty holes in me. But, like with many other First Person Shooters, especially online, I just need to git gut.

    I still cherish the memories of this game at the many LAN parties I attended to, the pure joy, tension and competitive game play that had this unique experience back then. The thrill when you finally blow someone up with a well lobbed grenade, the satisfaction when you finally sent a successful sniper bullet through someone’s skull, it was just amazing. Counter-Strike will always be one of my favorite online shooters today.

    The upgraded Counter-Strike: Source introduces new graphics and an even smoother experience, however, Counter-Strike (1.6) will always remain an all-time gem that can be played any time. When I am feeling old, I just play this version over the Source remake or Global Offensive, just for good old times.

    There isn’t much music in the game, but the main theme is legendary. Sound effects, like reloading or pulling out of weapons are very satisfying, which is a very nice feature for any shooter.     Overall, I enjoy the game. It is a good competitive shooter with easy, nice-feeling controls. However, after playing the new CS:GO and other titles like Battlefield I found the shooting in Counter-Strike 1.6 to be really difficult and hard to get used to.

    There are many better shooters available on the market now, so I would only recommend the OG Counter-Strike for its nostalgic experience, or to people interested in seeing the beginnings of the best series of competitive shooters to ever exist.    … Expand

    Не могу себе позволить не поставить меньше 10 баллов. Эта игра на столько легендарная, что на момент написания этого отзыва в нее играют тысячи людей. Я уверен, что сколько лет бы не прошло, рано или поздно мы будем возвращаться в эту игру, чтобы вспомнить те времена:
    - Когда вместо awp был слон
    - Вместо mp5sd была морковка - Вместо aug была приближалка или B44 - Когда купил оружие и    Не могу себе позволить не поставить меньше 10 баллов. Эта игра на столько легендарная, что на момент написания этого отзыва в нее играют тысячи людей. Я уверен, что сколько лет бы не прошло, рано или поздно мы будем возвращаться в эту игру, чтобы вспомнить те времена:
    - Когда вместо awp был слон
    - Вместо mp5sd была морковка
    - Вместо aug была приближалка или B44
    - Когда купил оружие и нужно клацать БЮ или будешь без патронов
    - Когда зажимаешь две клавиши мыши и стреляешь холостыми
    - Когда в школе обыгрываешь информатика на $2000$ и остаешься на реванш после уроков
    В свое время у нее было отличная графика, крутая физика.
    В общем можно много чего сказать, но меня поймут только те кто это пережил...

    My childhood game. Easy the legacy among of FPS online games. This game ( and Team fortress too ), invented a lot of things that almost every FPS multiplayers and esports games nowadays still using it.

    Legend! Even today, it plays beautifully. The game, which was conceived as a mod for Half-life, but became better and more popular than the game itself. Personally, I played it with my classmates in computer science classes and liked it so much that I decided to download it at home.
    C.S 1.6 is a classic that is immortal.

    Who's not know about that game? How many hours and days I spent playing in this with my friends. It's truly one of the best games that has ever been made. I cannot say anything more else, and wouldn't even If I could. The game says it by itself.

    Amazing game from the early 2000s. Has a great storyline, the bot matches are rewarding, multiplayer was great, and modding a server takes all the fun and turn it into a better version of it.
