It could be a good game on its own (7-8/10), but only if it is the first game of this developer that you ever played.
But if you've already player Mutant Year Zero - you already have played this game also:
-same engine that does not have much noticeable improvements -same game-play mechanics and the same meta-tactics -oversimplified plot -same bugs and same problems with game-play

This game is just a reskin of Mutant Year Zero and does not bring much to the table on its own. Instead of fixing issues with MYZ and improving engine and game-play developers just took a lazy approach by cloning their own game with different textures....

I love MYZ so much, but THIS..
Pluses: Great tactics, design, graphics, sounds and music
Minuses: Zero diversity. You always return to previous locations (5-8 times), completing the same missions (kill all, save the agent, etc). Shame on you devs. Shame.

    This was such a disappointment.
Mutant Year Zero was a great game, with a good story, memorable characters and an unique setting.
But Corruption 2029 is the opposite. No characters, a lame story and a generic futuristic setting. Game-play is very similar to MYZ, but they managed to make it worst by not having enough silenced weapons. Since this game is so much focused in stealth, this

    A huge step backwards.

I'm curious how this game came to be, considering the silence from the devs, and it being announced entirely less than a month before release. In a lot of ways I hope they actually made this before Mutant, and are just cashing in on some Epic exclusivity to fund their next real project. In nearly every aspect, the game is inferior to Mutant. There's no leveling, no gear or weapon customization, and only a barebones story to speak of. It only take three of the incredibly generic missions before locations start repeating, and it never stops. There's no point to exploring the maps anymore, since there's no loot to be had, or encounters to stomp once you've got some new skills or gear. I honestly was holding out hope there would be some kind of twist to the game, and that's why Bearded Ladies had been so quiet, but there was nothing of the sort.

Gone are the unique characters and personalities of Mutant, replaced by thoroughly generic squaddies almost indistinguishable from the enemy units. A tactical game like this either needs custom characters, or unique personalities to get attached to. Corruption has neither, beyond the throwaway conceit that you can change the characters' names.

While I'm still interested to see what comes next from Bearded Ladies after what a knockout Mutant was, this has certainly tampered my expectations in a big way. Needless to say, don't bother with this unless you're truly desperate for some more turn-based tactics, otherwise, just play Mutant Year Zero instead.

The game does not offend, but also doesn´t inspire. If it had more original content, it would certainly receive a more positive feedback. Therefore, it is only an average game. [Issue#302]

Corruption 2029 is a shameless clone of Mutant Year Zero minus everything that was good in the original game.

Corruption 2029 has great gameplay and graphics but the writing and lore for the game felt rushed and underutilised. Missions and maps tend to be recycled making the game feel repetitive.
