This dialogue based RPG has fallen into the trap of its own ambition. One can only hope that the potential next installment might be able to avoid it. [Issue #239]

It’s over far too soon, but you’d be hard pressed to find many better small scope narrative role playing experiences than Consortium, and it certainly leaves you wanting more.

Consortium is an ingeniously subversive gem, containing enough backstory to fill a Triple-A trilogy while focusing exclusively on an airship crew in distress. The execution is a little clunky at times, but Consortium still has the charm and depth to encourage multiple playthroughs as we wait for the sequel.

CONSORTIUM is a short adventure but with a lot of flexibility in how you can play it and with your choices and actions leading to very different stories. With fairly limited, and entirely optional combat, this is definitely a game for those looking for a good story rather than action.

As great as it would be to hold up Consortium as the next great evolution of adventure/RPG, it's not, though it is a valiant attempt that deserves praise.

The sci-fi meta-narrative, as well as the conspiracy-laced in-world narrative, are both interesting and this was the first time in a while a game has made me do some real detective work.

Much more than just a homage, Consortium might be rough around the edges but the dialogue system and freedom of choice rivals that of any other game.

A bold indie-RPG based on dialogues and misunderstandings.

Consortium is a peculiar game: it delivers a deep universe tailored on the decisions of the player, and shows an original meta-narrative side. On the other hand, the game is glitchy as hell, the FPS sections are not so good, and the story ends just when it gets really interesting.

In a horrendous package, Consortium hurts your feelings, and dresses you in a futuristic uniform, in which you'll feel the impact of your decisions, so you'll get to know slightly different stories. In any case, prepare for many uncomfortable compromises.

As a fan of narrative-driven games there’s a lot here to love, but until we have confirmation that part 2 and 3 of Consortium are actually being made, it’s an expensive investment to make in an unfinished story.

    Man, is Consortium glitchy.

Consortium is a tragedy. There’s an extremely clever game to be found within, but only when it works. It’s just the first part of a planned trilogy, and I have so many questions that I won’t be able to help myself, I need to play the second part. But I can only hope that it’s not held together by chewing gum and sellotape again.

An overly ambitious, tedious, shockingly short game.

I don't knowSure, the product has some problems with the graphics and it's a bit undertone for what regards the menus or the UI, but... but. I don't know why, but I like it.

Maybe because I have a story and some real charachters in front of me, maybe because I am not having only GRAPHICS to rule the price of the game. I like Consortium. I honestly felt to be myself on the ship, and I forced myself to act as I would in similar situations.

It's a game not for everyone I fear though. Nowadays everyone wants graphics, loot, violence, action, shooting... this game turns the tide and focus entirely on the story. Damn for the first time after Mass Effect saga I felt that what I decided, no... what I said ! was worth something different in the story arch.

If you like a game with a story and you want to be part of it , buy it. Otherwise, if you search something action oriented and to not face the consequences of your actions, go elsewhere.

It just blown my mind. If you love true RPG, where your choices really matters, with intriguing story and characters, this game is for you. I've finished this game 5 times now, and on every playthrough i see completely different content. Replayability of this title is insane.

But, yeah, if you're looking for another generic COD-like stupid shooter - Don't buy it. You'll be disappointed. Not much combat here, and you can talk your way out of any fight if you are smart.

COD-lovers gonna hate, but i didn't have such fun playing video game since first Deus Ex.
