Sep 5, 2014Taken as a whole, Concursion is an interesting and fun title.
-
Jul 4, 2014Most of the time, Concursion is a pleasure to play. It packs in a nice variety of game styles and never once comes across as repetitive.
-
Aug 10, 2014While fans of 2D platformers will enjoy it, Concursion has rough edges when it comes to its slightly-unresponsive controls and overall gameplay smoothness.
-
Jun 6, 2014It's a hard game to sum up. The flashes of genius in Concursion's construction are some of the freshest and most engaging gameplay I've seen from the indie scene in years. I want to be able to recommend it for that reason alone. But there's a lot of game surrounding those moments, and a lot of that game isn't particularly good. It's fiddly and annoying in a way that the best hardcore retro games - the Mega Mans and R-Types - never were.
-
Aug 6, 2014Concursion has a great idea but, unfortunately, it manages to waste most of its potential due to glaring issues with the controls, the difficulty curve, not to mention the awful visuals. The boss fights reward only the most patient players and, in true retro style, if you can't complete a level, you can't progress any further.
