Just like command and conquer, just without the fun (and movies, and kane). Monotonous.

I wouldn't trust the critics and users on this one, but I do agree on what PC Gamer said. This C&C game just got much buggier than Generals and is much worse on balanced gameplay when it comes to a dozen factions. EA never fixed the major AI bugs. The popularity on modding on Zero Hour was just unthinkable since you can't run several good mods at once, just one at a time. If someone can manage to fix Zero Hour's major bugs and make a better balanced game, I could play this game all over again and play its mods. Expand

The AI is just ridiculous and nowhere near human-like playing style. I've tried playing against Medium (Balanced) difficulty level and it's just consistently relentless at sending units to attack my base. Even if I manage to defend I eventually run out of tiberium.

I wonder if the developers ever bothered to play against the AI to see what it's like. Also looking at the post-game stats

I wonder if the developers ever bothered to play against the AI to see what it's like. Also looking at the post-game stats there is just no way that any normal player would be able to build units and structures and attack in such a short period of time. Really, because of this I'd say it's border-line unplayable.

It was a good game until i reached the 4th USA Campaign mission, guess what ... you need to build a base and an army, but you have no credits, the only way to get them is by capturing oil rigs, that the enemy will destroy. There are also invisible bombs everywhere. The enemy is already all over the map, the enemy is constantly attacking you, the enemy also spams you with Scud Storm so ifIt was a good game until i reached the 4th USA Campaign mission, guess what ... you need to build a base and an army, but you have no credits, the only way to get them is by capturing oil rigs, that the enemy will destroy. Enemy also spams with end game rocket units while you can barely build a factory in time. I just deleted this game. I give it a 4, learn to make a campaign that is challenging instead of unfair and frustrating. Expand

  1. Given the little over a week that it took me to run through it all, I feel that this expansion pack is about average. It contains a few little tweaks that improve the game mechanics noticeably, though some of the more basic problems with C&C:G continue to shine through.

The addition of the specialized generals, however, pushes this expansion set over the top. If you've already got Generals, you cannot go wrong with getting Zero Hour.
  3. Finally, an expansion that is a must have for every fan of the game. Quite simply, if you don't pick this up, you are definitely missing out!
