Some minor quirks and design decisions hamper the long-term enjoyment somewhat but overall, it's very good.
  2. The grognards out there will find much of value in Desert Rats, and I recommend it to them. Other gamers may want to think long and hard before investing their cash in a major niche title such as this.

It's a shame that the 17 scenarios in the game aren't linked into a single campaign, especially considering that many of the battles follow each other so naturally.
  4. Achieves exactly what many series games usually don't: it really gives you a feel for this much different theater and the combat that occurred there.
  5. This game scores big points is in the cerebral zone. This is chess, pure and simple.
  6. All you get is a well-polished strategic wargame that offers a ton of depth, unique scenarios, and historical accuracy.

A damn good game, Combat Command 2: Desert Rats has nearly all the strategic depth of much more complex titles at half the cost in learning time.
