Some minor quirks and design decisions hamper the long-term enjoyment somewhat but overall, it's very good.
-
The grognards out there will find much of value in Desert Rats, and I recommend it to them. Other gamers may want to think long and hard before investing their cash in a major niche title such as this.
-
It's a shame that the 17 scenarios in the game aren't linked into a single campaign, especially considering that many of the battles follow each other so naturally.
-
Achieves exactly what many series games usually don't: it really gives you a feel for this much different theater and the combat that occurred there.
-

-
All you get is a well-polished strategic wargame that offers a ton of depth, unique scenarios, and historical accuracy.
-
A damn good game, Combat Command 2: Desert Rats has nearly all the strategic depth of much more complex titles at half the cost in learning time.
