Terrible game. Wanted to like it, went into it with an open mind but every second dialogue is along the lines of "I can do this because I'm a strong woman", "aren't you a strong woman", "yes I can do everything a man can do, because I'm a strong woman", "oh wow I'm such a strong woman".

It's so distracting after a while it's just the developers talking to you, it's not even a story

It's so distracting after a while it's just the developers talking to you, it's not even a story anymore.

You wouldn't play a game where the main character brags about "Yes, I'm such an awesome/strong/smart white/black/asian man" on and on and on...you'd be bored, a little annoyed and perhaps a bit offended. You wouldn't play a game either where the main character sprouts all day "I'm so good, I'm such an ethical Christian/Muslim/Buddhist" either. Pretty much the same here, it's developers pushing a "holier-than-thou" ideology onto you rather than making a game with a story.

With excellent writing, engaging storytelling, interesting characters, perplexing decisions, incredible visual style, and great music, Cinders is everything you could ever want from a visual novel and every fan of the genre should try it.

A feminist interactive novel that will probably change the way you read the great classics to your children, but nothing that will change the world forever. The real downside is, however, its unbelievably high price (for what it is).
