Chuchel is Amanita’s crown jewel. The game moved me, but it had nothing to do with its story. My emotions arose from the sense of experiencing something pure, true and delightful. [05/2018, p.62]

A perfectly madcap adventure, full of irreverent humor that will fill you with joy. [May 2018, p.67]

Every minute of Chuchel’s short playtime is filled with delight and almost every interaction is guaranteed to make you smile. It is a distillation of interactive fun that is the best example of Amanita’s design philosophy so far. Chuchel is the total opposite of the games that dominate contemporary gaming and as such, deserves to be hugely successful. Just check out the trailer above and try to resist the charms of the little dustball of fun.

Chuchel is the accomplishment of an artistic process started fifteen years ago, and fully matured with this extraordinary visual and interactive experience.

Trying to find fault in CHUCHEL, though, is a pretty pointless endeavor. The game sets out with a simple goal, achieves it beautifully, and doesn’t waste your time getting its point across. I don’t really know how much better this could get. I suppose $10 might be a bit much for some to swallow, but CHUCHEL is a great experience that is definitely worth a whirl.

A truly great experience for those who want to have fun while solving wacky puzzles. Also game design and sound effects are really cute. Chuchel is a love at first sight.

After Wiley E. Coyote and Scrat, Chuchel becomes the new legend of the unsung hero fighting to gain his favorite treat. Spirited, welcoming, funny and wondrous, Chuchel is the ideal gateway game for a non gamer, an amazing family experience, a dreamy date night and a deviously inducing smile maker for the face of any gamer.

Chuchel is very simple, which we are not used to when it comes to Amanita Design. It is yet again very enjoyable though: lots of humour, nice design work and a very charming character.

This studio is unique and it proves it once again. Chuchel is beautiful, fun and charming, and if you like this type of game, you shouldn't miss it.

Although Chuchel is short and hardly demanding, it still works because of the clever puzzles, the humor and the lovely graphic style.

Chuchel is a magical game that is difficult to classify. Actually, it's more like an animated grotesque. It has more humour than interactivity. [Issue#284]

Chuchel is very easy to play and lasts a couple of evening at best, but you will enjoy every minute of this beautiful, good-hearted game.

Despite of a lack of puzzles -there are, but most are simple- Chuchel is a beautiful and fun adventure game that offers a great experience.

Amanita offers us a new jewel in its impeccable catalog. Chuchel is a wonderful fusion of comedy and adventure that unfortunately is too short and lacking in challenge. Despite this, its overflowing sense of humor and creativity make it worthwhile to enjoy this awesome adventure of the great Czech studio.

Joyful and surprising, even when you're cracking open an anthropomorphised egg.

Slighter than other Amanita offerings, CHUCHEL whizzes you through an assortment of easy but highly comical sketches, succeeding in its primary aim of making you laugh.

The game is a concentrated burst of lovely design that's short enough to end before its title character, its scene setup, or its sparse interaction can grow stale.

CHUCHEL aims to be a mostly comedic turn for Amanita Design and succeeds due to a winning combination of idiosyncratic aesthetic choices and streamlined point-and-click mechanics.
  20. Chuchle entertains the player while confusing them with its exceptional soundtracks and puzzles.

A personal and humorous adventure game with a distinctive graphic style that prefers situational gags before playability. The game is not difficult or sly, but you’ll forgive it in the right mood. It works well as a casual interactive movie.

A great comedy adventure with a hair-trigger tempered, yet still charming protagonist. Chuchel is like a fun-charged battery that’s ready to boost your mood. [Issue#228, p.66]

Chuchel’s overt humor and slick animations will make for an entertaining few hours but its simple puzzles and throwaway mini-games fail to ensnare deep imagination.

  1. Chuchel is a creation of pure joy, an absolute masterclass in silliness, with pleasingly involved puzzles to boot. It’s a giant cuddle of a game, interesting to all ages, and with a manic edge that never slows down.
  2. Mar 11, 2018
I found an experience that was equal parts delightful and strange, one that encouraged me to press every button and turn every knob. It’s silly in the best possible way.
