After drawing me in and taking me on a whirlwind ride, The Scorpio Ritual left me with nothing but a stunned expression and a heartache the like of which I haven't felt since 2007's Culpa Innata. Those with abandonment issues, play at your own risk.
-
Chronicles of Mystery may be lacking in the excitement and action departments, but it’s and otherwise well-constructed adventure.
-
Still, if you're looking for a solid adventure game with some interesting story ideas, this is the right place to be.
-
Chronicles of Mystery The Scorpio Ritual is a good game for a few hours of adventure game fun. Players in-between games at the moment may want to pick this one up and play.
-
I should also point out that The Scorpio Ritual is a short game—six to eight hours of play spread across four main locations—and it culminates with an unusually abrupt ending.
-
Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual is a decent title that is just a little shy of greatness.
-
Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual manages to partly succeed in introducing the world to a clever and adventurous character in Sylvie Leroux, and while she's got a long way to go before she can catch up to Niko from Revolution's Broken Sword series, there's enough potential for future installments to see her on a much longer episode of hidden secrets and ancient mystery.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Excellent adventure game takes advantage of a catchy story, charming graphics and really low hardware requirements. Ritual is a perfect choice for both experienced adventurers and newcomers. [Issue#174, Jan 2009]
-
We really enjoyed the artistic department of the game but it's the only good thing of this game. The plot can't deliver emotions and the puzzles are too easy and extremely linear. The result is an adventure we can't suggest to the players.
-
City Interaction’s talent – as well as an appreciation for the genre – is evident in the graphics, in the structure of the game and in the attention paid to puzzle construction, but it is lacking in the attention to small details that most often separate the ‘must play’ adventure titles from those soon to be languishing in the bargain bin.
-
PC Zone UKIf you enjoy below average games or like adventures where the voices cut out halfway through every single sentence, then this one is for you. [Oct 2009, p.72]
